Hearne: Was Craig Glazer JoJo, Harley & Boom Boom?

Ready for a conspiracy theory of Larry Sells-like, epic proportion…

Fasten your seatbelts cuz this one’s a lulu.

You may recall in yesterday’s column about my memories of Craig Glazer that it ended on an odd note.

I was writing about how in the early days of Craig’s column there had been a half dozen or so regular commenters who weighed in on his stories. And while I can’t fully recall exactly what made me suspicious, I began to notice that they all emanated from the same web addresses and times Craig’s comments came from.

When I made the case, Craig fessed up and they went away.

End of story?

Perhaps not.

Flash forward to two years back when Paul Wilson got fed up with the comments section Harpy known as JoJo, Harley and Boom Boom.

I remember at the time there being evidence that made me suspect it might be Craig.

Naturally, he denied it and life went on however it was an intriguing possibility.

For starters, it wasn’t like Craig didn’t know how to play out that hand .Plus there were some shared similarities between the two. Like knowing just enough to be dangerous. Yet at the same time, not fully understanding or possessing a more detailed knowledge.

Total Craig.

Now the interesting part:

Ever since Craig disappeared into the subconsciousness Boom Boom has been nowhere to be found.

And I think KC Confidential readers know that were Boom Boom / Harley around and aware of Craig’s fate he’d be weighing in with sympathetic words for the Scribe.

Yet it’s been two weeks since Boom’s been heard from.

On August 3rd, he wrote:

“Weird. WTF is going on. Man needs some help and hopefully finds some. Obviously
his losing his sons has taken it’s toll. No father should go thru the loss of two sons.
As far as glazo…hope he gets out of the hospital and things get better.
Even though we disagreed often on sports I wish the family well.

Boom Boom”

Might he be a plant? Someone Craig used to stir the pot? And now, sans Craig’s hands on the puppet strings he or she’s gone away…possibly for all time?

Or were Craig and Boom Boom some kind of soulmates and when Craig began to fade, so did Boom Boom?

Then again, maybe he’ll show back up here in a week or two and start sticking it to everybody in sight…again!

For the time being, it’s  just a very odd coincidence.

But, stay tuned.

There was a period several years ago when the writing style was so similar between CG comments and Harley comments that it gave one pause.

Both were borderline illiterate and they separated every regurgitated thought with a series of ….. instead of ending with a period and starting with a new sentence.

I always had my suspicions but more recently boom boom’s writing became clearer and with fewer style similarities.

Hearne, get somebody who really understands sports to pen an article or two on your site please.

To clarify, there’s a difference between “fed up” and the other kind of “fed up.” At the time, I had gotten emails from Harley’s “lawyer.” Then a string of threats that he was going to file a doxing suit in “fedural court.” Then, extremely violent threats via email about breaking into my house, tying me to a chair while three men rape my wife with me watching. That goes beyond “fed up” and possibly to a little different level.
Those emails went to the JoCo Prosecuting Attorneys office.
An investigator tracked the source to a SureWest internet service and determined they were launched from two different SureWest points of presence. One near the Doubletree on College and one near 95th and Lackman.

I had a great deal of fun with people who disagreed with me and, in the end, formed a likable bond with them, from Lib to you name it. Disagreement and discussion was the enjoyable part. But what Harley, JoJo, Boom Boom, et al did, was a leap beyond that.

I feel deeply sad for Craig. I can’t imagine that was an enjoyable life, end of life, or that in his final lucid moments….even he was pleased with his choices. I may be wrong; he may have lived it 100% his way and was tickled pink!

If he was Harley or not, my heart goes out to him.

Oh it’s strange for sure as you said, or is it Hearne?

It wasn’t just here on KCC that Craig got caught posting under other names.

Once and this was some years ago under the name of Harley that person made a comment to something I said that told me I knew who it was as a person simply because they brought out a point that could have only been known by those in attendance of the event. Craig was there and so was I. Craig and I had crossed paths in the past but only as a fleeting moment. If there was a third person that I never figured out who it was I’d be surprised since all said and done wasn’t that many people even there to begin with and I was there totally by accident in handling a separate issue and was requested to hand tight for a few. I knew most of the people there except for about five other people or there about. Craig many times racked his brain trying to figure out who I was and even made reference that you Hearne, had told him about me. But he never had it totally right. He never put two and two together to figure out that the two of the times I saw him were not a part of his so called shining moments. Back in the 70’s Johnson county wasn’t as big as many people today think it was. I thought from some comments I made way back eight or so years ago or how ever long ago it was that to Craig it would click who I might be but it never did. Frankly knowing it semi bugged him on occasion, semi gave me some pleasure. But then I grew bored of the whole I am better than you gig and stopped being a part of feeding the frenzy.

Time will tell if what you think is correct about Harley’s identification. I know I wondered over the years but never got that solid bit of evidence to tell me beyond reasonable doubt for sure it was indeed Craig or as you mention Hearne, a friend of his. Time will tell and I think is the only way we’ll know for sure.

Craig didn’t get a J degree from MU. So there’s no way he was Boom Boom. I bet the Boomer is just on vacation in Tuscany.

So, the guy who refuses to proof anything, ever, for any reason, spends time developing and perfecting an entirely different style of syntax, written inflections, adjectives and even a phony persona —- for what ends? To what purpose?

    I vote NO.

      Duly noted, Chuck…

However, let us not forget that he did the EXACT same thing with like five or six different characters until I busted him and he confessed.

There are some other reasons here to be skeptical though, I’ll admit.

  6. David Nelson says:

As one of the few (if not only one) who tracked CG gambling picks thought I’d weigh in. If he was Harley et al I’ll be impressed. Self deprecation and criticism was not something I ever saw in CG Harley would often chime in on my comments detailing CG’s poor picks. Seemed he revelled in the horrid record. Classic schadenfreude.
That being said since Harley is MIA that is very persuasive argument they r same. Even if he is on vacation or out of pocket you can always get internet access.
So…. official line is 45% chance they r the same. I’m sure CG would tease the favorite if he could.

  7. Harry Balczak says:

I was and still am a real person!

  8. Eric Haynes says:

I think if you look at the psychological profile of Glazer you will come to the conclusion that he was Harley, Boom-Boom, etc. Here’s a man who always need to be the center attention, always need to be in control. He was pathological about this. He went out west to conquer Hollywood, which no matter how hard he tried, ended in disappointment after disappointment. So, Glazer hightailed it back to KC, obviously it was super easy for an overbearing narcissist like Craig to get his attention fix in our small cow-town. You know, big fish in little town, that’s what Craig was wasn’t he? I don’t personally know him but I bet he bragged any chance he got that “I run this town”.

Craig’s pathological need for attention even spread to this website. It wasn’t good enough for him to have his prose posted on this site, he’d probably tell everyone he met “hey, check out my articles on KCC”, I bet he was insufferable about this. Nothing was ever enough for Craig Glazer, that’s why he had to have the most comments and beat out all the other writers. Craig Glazer, his whole life, had to be #1!
