Jack Goes Confidential: ‘Bombshell’ Takes On The Fox News Empire

Ever wonder about Fox News see-through glass news desks for women anchors?

Hey, let’s get real…former Fox News boss Roger Aisles knew exactly what he was doing and how to get ratings.

Then along came the #MeToo movement which would eventually bring him down.

If all this sounds interesting, then “BOMBSHELL” is your movie!

The plot is a revealing inside into one of the most powerful and controversial media factories of all time and the bombshell story of the women who ultimately leveled the man who created the empire.

The newsroom drama employs some of today’s top actresses to recreate the sexual harassment claims against Fox News chairman Ailes with Nicole Kidman in the role of Gretchen Carlson, the first to accuse him.

Margot Robbie plays Kayla Pospisil, who appears to be a compilation of women subjected to Aisles inappropriateness at all levels.

But it’s Charlize Theron who steals the show.

She absolutely nails it as Megyn Kelly and will most likely pick up nominations for her efforts, as Kelly jeopardized her career to bring her boss to justice.

Ms. Theron also co-produced the film.

Kudos to John Lithgow as Aisles whom you’ll love to hate as the movie progresses.

All that plus excellent supporting performances by Kate McKinnon, Elisabeth Roehm as Martha McCallum, Spencer Garrett as Sean Hannity and Malcolm McDowell as Rupert Murdoch.

“BOMBSHELL” is so well directed by Jay Roach that it should garner multiple Oscar nominations.

I am highly recommending “BOMBSHELL” (in theaters) and grade of: B+

First of all, any guy who is NOT hitting on Margot Robbie (Or ANY chick who looks like her.) is spending hours down at the Liberty Memorial and he ain’t there to learn about the Battle Of The Somme.

The movie looks interesting at first glance, but…, I will wait to go see it until I learn for sure that it isn’t SJW/Progressive agitprop, with a Lena Dunham talking point Cream topping, infused with a “All men are rapey as hell” scrumptious middle and colored with an indulgent, made fresh hate whitey interior. Yummy…, no doubt but not for me.

Is anyone besides me, confused about just how stupid the people are, over at NBC?

Not just the Ronan Farrow/Weisntein stuff and the abject hypocrisy and never ending lies they tell why pretending with a straight face to be “journalists”. No, not that.

You pay Megyn Kelly 20 Million Dollars after the scandal, when she is the hottest ticket in town and hide her in right field on some dead end “Morning Show”.

I would have called Lester Holt about 9 seconds after Kelly signed the contract and sent him down to Triple A.

You don’t leave your stud on the bench, especially after you give him the house.

    What morons.

    “Roger Aisles”

    – Whiskey Tango Foxtrot. Cannot Roger that.
A-i-s-l-e-s? SAY AGAIN ALL AFTER. OVER.

“Ever wonder about Fox News see-through glass news desks for women anchors?”

    – Aisles— er… I’ll say (alright… all seriousness, that will be quite enough of that.)

Speaking of FOX News transparent glass, leg seat and cadre lookers dressed to thrill, am struck by the fact Edward Murrow nor Walter Cronkite et alia ever flaunted their pecs, abs or speedo clothed points south in order to garner more eyeballs nod ratings.

Angle demographic females a certain age, perhaps if some muscle-bound, non-tousle haired beefcake hunk was reading from the teleprompter today same as the ladies…? Perhaps they are, am not aware nor do I care to know/see such any more the women.

The animal Kerouac enjoys eye candy much as the next red-blooded male, but prefers the meat and potatoes before his cheesecake. Am not sure what to believe – on the one hand, have heard female on-air talent at FOX gets to choose their own attire, but also that they’re in fact told what to wear, with only limited choices otherwise.

Let us be honest: the minds of men do not itch nor are orbs theirs taxed wondering why former’s such as (examples all) Catherine Herridge or Greta Van Susteren and current FOX’rs Leslie Marshall and Jennifer Griffin (among other) never sat nor sit that leg chair (those ladies presenting more professionally also not lost this viewer – i.e., it’s easier to watch/concentrate/consider the issue at hand, not be distracted.)

I don’t like to be distracted when watching news circa 2019 any more than I did while watching the Chiefs my younger days, fandom. News was (and remains) more than a mere diversion, as football was once upon a time, though the latter still does even if I no longer have a horse in the race fandom, as ’twere.

Upshot: the expectation is not titillation news any more than spastic monkeys gridiron gyrating as they figuratively fling their poo around as if the cage theirs zoo… in neither case does Kerouac consider it entertaining nor must see tv, to each their own suppose.

It is Progressive agitprop. I found myself wondering why no one made a movie about Weinstein, who would make an compelling villain, or Matt Lauer or Les Moonves. At least the Matt Lauer version could have starred an attractive man to go along with all of the attractive women. And then it hit me. Out of all the sleazeballs who got caught and were forced to slither away in disgrace, Aisles was the only one who could be used to score political points against the Right. If this film has a message, other than prurient interest posing as indignation, it is that Ted “Splash” Kennedy never existed and ONLY REPUBLICAN MEN TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THEIR POSITIONS OF POWER. They think we are too stupid to realize it. What a waste of fine actors.
