Jack Goes Confidential: ‘RICHARD JEWELL’—Saint Or Savage?

Clint Eastwood can STILL make your day…

He made mine the other night at the screening of Eastwood’s latest docu-drama, “RICHARD JEWELL,” which he directed and co-produced alongside Leonardo DiCaprio and Jonah Hill.

And let’s be real.

If it were not for the power of his name and Mr. Eastwood’s much admired Malpaso production company, good story telling would have had a tough time being green lighted these days in Hollywood.

In Eastwood’s latest outing the director takes us back to 1996 and the Centennial Park bombing during the summer Olympics in Atlanta.

The subject here is an overzealous security guard who wants to make it in law enforcement in the worst way. His latest assignment is the Olympic entertainment grounds where Jewell comes across a mysterious backpack left semi-hidden in a crowded area.

With much reluctance the bomb squad is called in—and guess what?— Jewell’s intuition is correct and the bomb goes off killing two persons and injuring almost one hundred more.

So was Richard Jewell a FALSE HERO?

Enter FBI investigator Jon Hamm and his team who suspect Jewell HIMSELF to be responsible for planting the bomb, and sets out to proof it.

Did Jewell do it just for attention?

He sure seems to fit the profile, as the security guard goes from hero to suspect with the Atlanta Journal Constitution breaking the sensational story.

That’s where the current controversy about the film comes into play.

One of the newspaper’s (hot) reporters – played by Olivia Wilde – is shown dishing sexual favors to Hamm in exchange for insider FBI tips.

DID that happen?

Who knows, but remember this is not a documentary – it’s is a docu-drama BASED on historic events.

All in all, I found the movie to be a fascinating insight into the human psyche.

Sam Rockwell as Jewell’s attorney is again in top form, while Kathy Bates in the role of Jewell’s mother is painfully real.

But it is Paul Walter Hauser in his sensational breakout role as the title character that will stay with you long after you have left the theater.

“RICHARD JEWELL” is new this weekend in theaters.

My grade: B

It happened again. Ali Watkins, slept with James DEEP STATE Wolfe, for 2 years and received in return, the FISA warrants on Carter Page to print. Wolfe’s perfidy was mitigated and he was let off with a light sentence (Huh!!!! Imagine that????) Because his lawyers were going to subpoena records from Democrat Warner and Republican (Can’t think of his name right this second, he’s a scumbag too.) – they participated in illegal leaks and dissemination of classified info to the media during the Russian Collusion Hoax.

    Should be a great flick.
