Steele: News Media ‘Die-Ins’ Off Target

Par7715960The folks who’ve been dying-in all over the metro of late may want to come back to life…

They’re everywhere, from the Plaza to Crown Center to the KCK Police Department (as if you could possibly disrupt anything in KCK).  It’s not so hard out there after all.

According to University of Missouri-St. Louis researcher David Klinger – as reported in the Journal of Experimental Criminology – “’When it comes to the issue of race, I’ve never had a single officer tell me, ‘I didn’t shoot a guy because he was white. I’ve had multiple officers tell me, ‘I didn’t shoot a guy because he was black.’ ”

Don t Shoot! This only stands to reason given the blowback—often figurative, occasionally literal–from the shooting of a minority suspect. Black or white, the bottom line is this: if a cop asks you to do something, it’s best not to punch him in the face and grab for his gun.

Just sayin’.

    Good point.

Here is a video that shows a man who now thinks “Compliance” is important. “Compliance, being following orders when questioned by the police in the streets. You will see why.

Now THAT should open the eyes, of all, but the willfully impercipient.

This guy complied and got his door busted down and his two dogs shot and one killed by the Columbia SWAT Gestapo all for a dime bag and a pipe. Yea failed drug war! Comply with the unreasonable police state or else, proles.

the police in new York over the last year have substantially dropped the number
of arrests…citations…traffic stops….frisks….moving violations and other
interactions for those on the streets. And guess what…..number of homicides
in ny at all time low…like 350. Lowest in years…many years.
same in kc…and now we had lowest homicide rate in 2014…I think like
    76…lowest in years.
ask this convict criminologist if there’s any correlation?
and lets finally get rid of these non working drug war laws….they’re
    wasting timeand money.
Now with dui stops…just put your ids in a plastic bag…attach a string…
hand thru window (but don’t pull downyour window but maybe
a half inch….write note to police you’re nottalking and need attorney.
9 states allow this…..so policing is changing….because nowthey
    don’t want YOU…theywant your MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And lets learn to getalong and that the police 90% of the time are
    there to serve the public.
    I SUPPORT POLICE…BUT SOME GO TOO FAR…
I had an expired plate which was the dmv’s fault cause they gave me the
wrong month plate….5 police cars came tothescene….what a waste of
    time and manpower.
but lets get along and see if there’s less hasslingfrom the police if that
canchange the attitude of the public towards the men behind the shield.

Good post Harley, I wouldn’t characterize myself and pro or anti cop. Just an average Joe. Don’t know too much on particulars of mike brown, and don’t really care. did see a comment though on TKC yesterday. Got me thinking, so thought I’d share it here. (hope thats ok?)

“Everyone here knows at least one person who has served in Afghanistan, Iraq or North Africa. Next time you see them ask them if the actions of police they saw in Ferguson would have been allowed in Afghanistan, Iraq, or North Africa. Most of them will tell you, No. These are men and women that were facing protests with IED’s and a real threat of death and destruction. And if you consider a Moltov cocktail an IED, you should also thank that service member because you are fortunate to still have a mind peaceful enough to consider that an IED.

The choice is not one extreme or the other. The choice isn’t anarchy or statism. what I saw in Ferguson (irregardless of who the F mike brown was) was not America, it wasn’t even Iraq, I don’t even know what to call it.

America does have a police state problem. And PLEASE ask a service member you know about N Africa, Iraq or Afghanistan, and see if in those WAR ZONES that kind of behavior would have been tolerated”

So I called my sister and by proxy my brother in law, both did multiple tours over there. brother in law is over i iraq now helping iraqis against ISIS. And both of them said just what that poster said.

Point being, our soldiers, who are in a real war zone, not Ferguson, wouldn’t use the same tactics against protestors in Iraq or Afghanistan. Those protestors in mid east had rocks, bottles, legitimate high explosive IED’s, and automatic weapons. Supposing an attack from some protestors, their response was tactical and targeted. I don’t know, found it interesting and thought provoking, so thought I’d share.

    PS. Love this blog!

holy greasy boobies, boys! Harley just passed along the ole chestnut to drive through DUI checkpoints with your information hanging from a string attached to a plastic bag.

I hope everyone goes out and tries this. Please post the results to the internet so we can laugh please.
