Had you bet on my predictions for last night’s Academy Awards you’d be collecting in the your office Oscar pool today…
As I pointed out last week I usually score a 75% Correct average. But guess what?
This year I batted 100% for my Top Seven by correctly picking Best Picture, Director, Actor, Actress, Supporting Actor, Supporting Actress and Best Animated feature film.
However, for those who may have wished they’d used my insight with their Vegas bookie, they’d be out of luck. That’s because Las Vegas does NOT allow betting on the Academy Awards.
It’s against the law apparently…go figure.
Hard to believe, but Nevada sports books will not accept wagers on any outcome that’s not decided on a field of play. And that would include the Oscars where winners are determined AHEAD OF TIME—even though not made public until Oscar night. And since Las Vegas books have no way of verifying when the decisions are made, it’s a potential compromise to the integrity of the wagering.
It’s with this year’s ABC‘s 6:00 to 7:30 p.m., Red Carpet coverage.
What we got from Disney’s ABC Network was 90 minutes of annoying, backround crowd noise. Hosts and stars were almost totally drowned out.
You say I don’t know what I’m talking about, right? Well, I switched over to both CNN and the E network, both of which were live from the Red Carpet as well. And they sure didn’t drown out their interviewers and subjects.
So shame on ABC’s Production/Sound department!
If 12 year slaves didn’t win everybody was racist.
You know, the Slave pic was okay…better than okay, actually.
But it seems more obvious than ever that the people casting these ballots live in a different world, apart from most moviegoers
those winners were all consensus picks. You sound like Glazier bragging about winning with his girly teaser spreads.
Great job Jack, it ain’t easy to pick 100% fantastic..p.s. you can bet on the winners in Vegas or online…I did last year with tips from my Hollywood pals, lost overall…should have called you…good work
thohght the speech given by the best supporting actor from dallas buyers
