OTC Home Game… Insert your own “Lezak’s driver” or “Lezak’s putter” joke here.. I’ll start…

I’ll bet Lezak’s putter has seen some pretty strange short grass in it’s day…

It’s the game the whole family can play!!

OK…Greg didn’t you work in radio? You would think that you would understand that 12+ numbers don’t mean sh*t. Print those 25-54 men numbers for the day parts without the Royals broadcasts at night and then we’ll talk. 610 is HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!

” to be as ugly as Wornall Road, around 80th Street. Is there an uglier stretch of road in the city than this hodgepodge of unattractive storefronts, loud businesses, glaring signs, narrow lanes and dilapidated buildings? ”

Oh, poor Greggy had to venture outside of his Northland Golden Ghetto and into the big, bad city. Get used to it, Greg. The Northland will be a ghosttown in 10 years once all your neighbors get foreclosed on and all those stupid strip malls sit empty.

$10,000 TAKE ALL CHALLENGE TO IDIOTS KK AND PETRO!
Royals update for KK and Petro: The team has some problems but they are our team. If 1.2 million fans want to go out and pay money for
the tickets and food then that’s great. You have no right to act as if those of us who support the home team are idiots. Truth is that your job since april has been destroy the team
and its players. I agree there are some serious
problems with the players, coaches and management but there is no better place in the
summer than the K. Your only job has been to
run the team down publicly and to say they are out of the race when just 5 games out.
You both are nothing but idiots. Your insights have been wrong at least 80% of the time.
I challenge either of you to a 10,000 dollar
winner take all contest on who knows the most
about current and past baseball. I would crush
both of you. Put up or shut up.
Yes, the royals have some serious problems but
they are our team. 1.8 million fans will go out
there. They are not stupid. They are not fools.
They love baseball and they love the Royals.
NOw take those clubs you play with to chase
a ball around those courses and stick them up
    you a$$!
    You are a disgrace!

    Luther,
Why does the big city have to be bad? Or ugly? Or dirty? Or poorly designed? Waldo and Brookside are nearby neighborhoods to this stretch of Wornall and their welcoming streets elicit thoughts of pride, warmth, interesting architecture and community.

Come on, Luthur. “Golden ghetto”? That’s what we used to call Johnson County; I’ve noticed all that blight at 119th and Metcalf. Poor folks, having to panhandle for spare change so they can get a mocha grande from Starbucks. Damn shame.

The Northland has it’s share of “scenic drives”, such as N.Oak north of Cascone’s;Vivion Road between that Mecca of culture, Riverside, and N. Oak; Chouteau, from Parvin road to I-35, and my personal favorite, Claycomo/Pleasant Valley U.S. 69 from JC’s Sportsbar to I-35, a land frozen in a sixties time warp of middle class attractions, from welding shops, chiropractors, fast food joints, pawn shops, and cops that make Barney Fife look like Einstein. Its only saving grace is El Sombreo, home of KC’s best tacos(tell Larry “Uncle Dick” sent you). I know for a fact that Greg’s seen the lowlights of this town. After we get a belly full of tacos in Claycomo, go down to Diamond Joe’s for a couple of free lap dances(yes, there are percs to being a world famous sports blogger),drive down Independence Avenue and try to figure out what the stores are, being that their signs are in Spanish, go to Prospect Ave. and see if we can tell the working girls and the under cover decoy cops. As a good rule of thumb, the decoy cops dress skankier, but upon further inspection, have most of their teeth, which is a definate handicap for that time of work.

It costs 810 lots more money to keep the ship afloat than 610. With Jerry Green gone to provide short term cash flow coverage the 810 juggernaut is in trouble. Even with reduced ad rates radio advertising doesn’t deliver results like it used to on a cost per 1000 basis. You’re better doing direct mail or going viral to your core customers. Petro could be the big winner if he would jump ship and go head to head with KK. If 610 isn’t dangling a carrot in front of him right now they are idiots. It will be interesting to see how this plays out. Despite the ratings difference in 25-34 year old males betwen the two stations listeners and callers to sports radio programs have more opinions then they do discretionary income.

The 610 interns strike again telling the demise of KK and 810.

They’ve only been doing this for the last six of seven years.

Keep dreaming 610 interns and 810 haters if you tell yourself enough times 810 will go the way of the Do Do, it just might happen.

Greg, Kansas City at a whole is a dump. It’s one of the many Midwest towns that have no personality, demographics about the same and not really much history. Kansas City, Omaha, Des Moines, Springfield, Mo, Wichita. All about the same city.

I believe 810 had numbers above 6 and 7 two years ago…so this is a big big fall…I think simply because we just don’t have alot to talk about when it comes to the Royals and Chiefs…The Royals are hopeless for this year and beyond..the Chiefs are a work in progress with only one real star Matt the new QB who hasn’t stepped on the field yet with a team that has no other name stars and at best can work towards building a team for 2010…not much action there either…guess its KU basketball or bust….and from all the comments here on sports we sure have folks that want to be heard…but we all have to repeat the same old stuff….building for the future that never comes..

we’re organizing a sign campaign at the K to
let all the Royals haters at 810 know we still
    support our home team.
We’re going to print 5000 signs that read
‘TURN OFF THE ROYAL HATERS AT 810’ AND
put them up at the Royals game in July.
I have arranged for the printing and we will
distribute them at a Royals game (similar to
what KK the royal hater did about small market
baseball years ago when they walked out).
We will critisize our team but we will always
support them. The 2 million people who are going to watch the team this year are not idiots or
    fools.
    KK watch for our signs.

Enough with the ‘analysis’ of 610 vs. 810’s numbers. How do each of them compare to the same period (spring) a year ago? How much did 610 gain last year from the winter to spring book? 810? Analyze those numbers before drawing any conclusions about the trajectory of each.

I’d be very surprised if the numbers are doing anything signficantly different than a year ago, but I’m only guessing because 810 haters like Landesberg at BLC only present a partial view that is most favorable to their position.

hey all you a$$holes…if you don’t like the
royals don’t go to the games…don’t buy the
shirts and caps…keep your money. I can find
a lot of losers who own business that aren’t
making money. The goal of baseball teams is not
to satisfy some losers. It’s to make money!
Owners make money by having teams that draw
fans to buy the tickets and food.
If you don’t support the royals that’s fine.
All the losers who complain about them but
don’tsupportthem then go to their $10 dollar
    an hour job are losers.
Glass made tyhe investment in salaries and
rebuilt the stadium. If he doesn’t make money
he’ll find a way to do it.
You can’t complain about glass opening his
    wallet this year.
I choose to support the royals with my money
and attendance. If you don’t like them then
spend your money elsewhere. Noone is putting a
gun to your head to go to the K.
Now stop complaining if youre not supporting!

Is there anyway to block JoJo’s comments? He seems to take up half of the comments on your blog and he’s usually crying about the same thing over and over again. The comments section is a great feature to discuss your columns…JoJo is dilluting that feature.
