Glazer: Man, the Chiefs Suck

1394125200149515809It’s been just about 50 years since the Chiefs were in a Super Bowl...

Most Chiefs’ fans today were not yet born. I was a little kid and never dreamed our team would never see another Super Bowl again. Let alone only one playoff win in five decades. The Chiefs, along with the Jets and Detroit are one of the worst run and worst NFL franchises of all time. They just are.

Comments section dude Kerouac is right about everything he writes.

They just have no real leadership, good coaching or much of anything else.

Tonight they reminded us of why KC is a joke.

I am not even watching the second half.

25106078The Steelers will I’m sure break a few game records of their own. Maybe Big Ben will throw for 8 or 9 touchdowns. He had 4 at halftime.

It’s 29-0 now at the half.

Chiefs coach Andy Reid tried a 50 yard impossible field goal in the pouring rain.

It summed up the Chiefs; dumb plays, poorly coached and light in talent. Have been for years.

Oh, they will win some games, meaningless ones as always. And they’ll finish 3rd behind Oakland and Denver for sure. But QB Alex Smith is now on his downhill run – not that he was ever that uphill.

Is this mean enough?

I wonder who will watch the second half outside of the Steeler fans. Oh and the thousands who made money betting against KC, thats who.

Anyway, the sooner owner Clark Hunt hires a young coach, finds a number one or two or three draft pick quarterback and starts to build something, the longer it will be before the Chiefs matter.

Right now they just don’t matter.

They’re canon fodder for other NFL teams.

That’s just the way it is and I’m pissed because I thought we might be decent this year.

Dumb me.

    CAPTION THAT PIC

Alex Smith does his best Linda Blair impersonation ‘The Exorcist’ as the Steelers play the part devil & make swiss heads spin and swim ‘Sunday Night Funer’- er, football.

43-14… reality was Heinz 57-0 had PITTS been interested in playing the second half, but it’s hard to concentrate when you’re laughing at your opposition

    OUCH

Dearly disappointed, we are gathered here this solemn occasion 1/4 point the season to write an epitaph; kansa s h**ty chiefs… are. Dominated by the Chargers in the opener, proven a fraud losing to the Texans & tonight steamrolled PITT. Aft an bye week, next up the Raiders in Oakland: reid’s red wreck 2-3 that loss added. By the time the swiss go to Denver in November and lose to the Broncos, the swiss will be 3-8 or 4-7 at best.

Tonight’s low-lites: the usual suspects, prima donas & overhypes

‘Toast’ Peters got things rolling by being burned on the games first play, 47 yard pass completion that was a sure td had it not been under-thrown. Second pass, he gave up another long td pass, this time over-thrown but no matter, PITTS just kept on going and didn’t stop till they got in the endzone… 3 times in the first quarter alone. C’mon, anybody really believe ‘Toast’ is the best CB in football? Hilarious. SEATT Sherman a couple years ago was legit, why teams didn’t throw at him… Peters gets thrown at by the opposition before he even gets off the bus.

Still waiting for the greatest thing since sliced toast ‘Tyweak’ Hill make a big play: thru the equivalent half a season (4 pre & 4 regular games), still no long td returns a kickoff, punt or pass this year’s ‘overhype’, despite media desperately trying to convince us he is a ‘playmaker’. Talk is cheap – legit is Noland ‘Supergnat’ Smith scoring an 86 yard td the first ‘time’ he ever touched the ball and Tamarick Vanover scoring a 95 yard td the first ‘game’ he ever played… those guys proved legit from the start – not training camp heroes and ‘Jesse Haynes’ media creations foisted on a desperate fandom.

‘Butterfingers’ Ware lost his third fumble in as many games… no longer will he have to try and remember the last time he fumbled, rather, now becomes a matter ‘when was the last time/game he didn’t fumble’?

Prima donas Maclin and Kelce were busy dropping passes/making no difference in the game while 5’4 ‘I keeck a td’ Santos swung his leg missing a fg, then fell down & almost drowned on the rainy field before being located by a search party in a puddle.

AFC West Power Ratings: At 4-0 DEN continues to be the class of the entire NFL, 3-1 Oakland is on the upswing with 3 road wins while the injury-ravaged Chargers follow and are still superior to the hapless swiss who bring up the rear.

    🙂

P.S. In my anger at their sucking off the chart, I was wrong under Joe we won two playoff games, I was at one, in 93 and of course THAT HUGE win, hah, last year over Houston…THAT’S IT FOLKS…

The team has no identity. What are we? Under Marty a defense team that had moments and great regular season, 3 that were 13-3 and no playoff win, that may never be broken again. Under Dick, we had one huge offensive season, but no D. Marty was a good coach, just unlucky, only Hank Stram, he of the 60’s, Jesus was a great coach…and it ended there.

    • CG says:

Nice breakdown K. Oh our Royals finished at .500. I’m of the opinion next year here with the Royals likely will be more of who is going where and how much in 2018. Guys like Hosmer, Moose, Davis, Cain are now more about their futures with money and attention than winning and getting back in the post season. That flower belongs to Sal…and the new players who while decent, don’t show me the ability to get back to a championship. I’m afraid we are headed back to dogsville.

Boy this will be a tough winter for football fans in KC. Chiefs seem lost, MU is in rebuild and likely not to be in any bowl game, KU welp, and that leaves K State with a minor bowl maybe….kinda boring.

Welp we had last year with the Chiefs in the playoffs and the Royals on fire…guess we have to keep that in our hearts, huh.

      • Jim a.k.a. BWH says:

Step away from the edge, CG. It’s gonna be OK. Sure, it was an awful showing for the Chiefs, but that happens. The Steelers got their @ss handed to them the previous week by Philly. Chiefs lost by 29 this week. Steelers lost by 31 the previous week. Chargers lost to a horrible Indy team last week as well. The same Indy team that lost to a winless Jags team this week. It’s the NFL.

Like I said before the season, this is looking like an 8-8/9-7 Chiefs team. So, you will only have to write your “Chiefs Suck” articles 7 or 8 times. Expectations can be bad for your blood pressure. Just breathe, buddy.

  2. Kerouac says:

Hank Stram (as others) said “the only thing more difficult than winning a Championship is defending it”, i.e. repeating. For all the Chiefs wherewithal, talent & guile, even Stram / Chiefs could not. As Kerouac has stated many times, the greatest teams ever sport like the Packers, Yankees, Celtics & Canadians were able to repeat, but in world even moreso grown frauds sports modern era, the aforementioned are the exceptions & likely the last of their kind. Today, must settel for pseudo dynasties SF GIANTS three Championships in 5 years or NE Patriots similarly, NFL.

    Chiefs/Royals? LOL.

  3. admin says:

Looks like the H Man may be on strike after I killed off a handful of endlessly long, boring, below-the-belt, in-poor-taste comments.

    • paulwilsonkc says:

Hint to Admin. Kill off the H-man opposed to only his redundantly repetitive comments and slanderous claims.
      Problem solved!

    • chuck says:

I may have a solution. Next door to me, lives a very nice lady. She is a Korean War Veteran. She’s the best! 🙂 In her house, running the roost is a very large cat. Very friendly. If anyone is missing Harley to the extent that they just HAVE to read his takes, I can cue up the comment section box and have the cat walk back and forth on the keyboard.

      You’re welcome.

If you are reading this Haley, don’t be mad, it is just one pussy replacing another.

  4. Shawnster says:

As I have stated previously, the Chiefs are a failed organization. They have been one all of my life ( I was born during their last championship). Lamar Hunt is rightly revered in this town…his accomplishments speak for them themselves. His progeny however shall be given no quarter. The list of organizational stupidity stretches all the way back to the dreadful Jack Steadman tenure of the 70’s to today’s current mess of aging veterans, poor draft choices, and general lack of basic football theory embodied in current GM Dorsey and head ball-coach Reid. This organization can’t even get stadium parking figured out. How are they gonna build a contender? The stunning failure to scout, draft, and develop a QB is their crowing achievement of ignorance. They will never win, nor seriously try to win as long as the rubes keep forking out $40.00 to spend two hours in line just to park or keep tuning in each Sunday to watch this particular odorous brand of stink attempt to play football. Remember the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. Keep suiting up another team’s cast-off QB, keep looking for “value” (cheapness) in the draft instead of the best available talent, and keep signing wash-outs to coach. It’s gotta work sometime….right?

    • The Word says:

“Lamar Hunt is rightly revered in this town…his accomplishments speak for them themselves. ”

I never understood why Hunt is so revered in this town since he’s about as Kansas City as a ten gallon hat. He had two choses after the Cowboys banished the Texans from Dallas after the 1962 season. Kansas City or New Orleans. KC gave him the better deal. That’s it.

If he knew in 1962 where the TV markets and population would go, Hunt would of moved the team to Arizona, North Carolina, Atlanta or somewhere in Florida.

      • Newbaumturk says:

I’m with you. Lamar simply chose the place he thought he could make the most money, simple as that. The Chiefs were a commodity to Lamar. They could just as easily be cereal on a store shelf or something. I’ll never forget shortly before Lamar died he was on Kevin Kietzman’s pimping the last stadium vote. KK asked the questions that should have been asked about where the money would go, how much, etc. Lamar was woefully unprepared to answer the questions (which were not tough questions btw). You could hear in Lamar’s voice and by his reactions that his attitude was “how dare the proletariat ask me such questions? Give me your tax money that I want, piss boy!” In the same interview KK asked Lamar if he would rather make a dollar and lose the Super Bowl or lose a dollar and win the Super Bowl. Lamar chose make a dollar and lose the Super Bowl. This from a guy born to a man that was once the richest man in the America. Tells you all you need to know. I’m hoping Clark fell asleep little further from the tree. That said, this organizations problem is no team values the most important position in sports less than the Chiefs. Here’s a fun stat: the last qb drafted by the Chiefs to win a game was Todd Blackledge in 1987. No other team comes within 25 years of that fact. What the Chiefs, Lions, Browns, and Jets have done by not winning a Super Bowl in close to or over 50 years is a actually hard to do in the NFL because it’s set up for everyone to win on occasion. Literally every other team tries to find their own franchise QB except the Chiefs and it shows. I have hope in Clark because he appears to be trying but there needs to be a mandate to find and draft our QB that can win a Super Bowl. We will never win one with Alex Smith.

        • The hunts have used kc as their personal piggybank.
What have they done for kc outside of what the
chiefs as an organization have done.
Have they built anything…contributed any of the
billions in cash they’ve taken out of this city?
Have you seen clarks suite at the stadium. We were
in it…and it cost the taxpayers a ton of money while
his dad lived in the suite that look like hell because
          he was cheap?
Have the hunts created anything with their own money
in kc….even though the fans have made them
          billionaires?
They did donate a special machine to Truman med
center at which I was there to see the public
          announcement.
          Besides that nothing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Go to dallas and its THE HUNT THIS AND THE
HUNT THAT….GO TO SMU AND SEE LAMARS
          MILLIONS OF DOLLARS IN CONTRIBUTIONS.
The hunts have used kc to fund their own little
          charities in dallas…not kc.
They’ve allowed mediocrity in this town on the
field so they could gobble up more money for their
          dallas enterprises.
Mr. K put billions into kc without making anywhere
near the money the hunts have. He kept the money
          here.
The hunts took a huge brinks truck and took their
money to dallas…..they think of kc as a cowtown.
They can’t sell more seats….tv revenue is shared…
          what more could they need.
          Carpetbaggers is what they are!

        • miket says:

NBT… well, Clark may have fallen a bit farther from the tree because when the fans ratcheted up the noise to fire Pioli and the tennis bum, he reacted. the problem is, as it has been, is that he’s a terrible football man and needs the advice of others – who are probably giving him bad advice. didn’t Steadman die? coulda fooled me.

but seriously, when it goes on this long, and is this bad for much of that time, who else can you logically blame and hold responsible but the man at the top – clark hunt. I thought he’d be better, but really he’s clueless.

  5. bwain says:

When does the Royals season start?

    • CG says:

Sorry with pay cuts, players leaving or thinking about only that and their financial futures…Royals are not likely a post season team either.

      • miket says:

jumpin’ jesus, cg…. writing them off one day after their last game of the season?!?!?!?! sheeeet, man, tha’s craaaazzzy. might as well bed down with k-rac and dream of 1969.

  6. CFPCowboy says:

New pair of shoes for our Alex Smith. It has a blade in the toe, intended for every damn lineman that fails to keep him healthy. Damn near ruined my meal at Texas Roadhouse in Rapid City. Then we’ll work on his accuracy

    • CG says:

Cowboy I’m afraid we’ve seen the Alex Smith show enough. He just isn’t going to get it done on his own. Sure there will be a good game here and there but it looks like aging has set in a bit early on Smith, he never runs the ball anymore and that really helped him last year. He doesn’t go deep at all, its just a mess right now. I’m sure he will improve but clearly he’s not the guy to take KC to the promised land.

The media agreed with my breakdown it seems. Our core group is old, DJ, Hali, Charles, even Eric Berry looks out of it, Houston may never really come back. The new guys have promise, but looks like the Andy Reid era is coming to an end soon. We need to find that quarterback leader, a young guy, a new coaching group and start over. Oh boy. It may be years again before KC is mentioned as a top tier team. Monday nights crushing loss, the lack of any offense in four games save one quarter against the Chargers, doesn’t bode well for the future. With a few weak teams in our future this year the Chiefs may win 7 or 8 games, enough to draft somewhere in the middle, but look for them to take a quarterback for the first time in decades.

It’s been written here by many commenters that Hunt just tried to keep KC competitive with an army of quarterbacks from other teams, none really worked out…oh we had moments like with Joe and even Elvis and Trent, but without that elite guy its a tough road. One we haven’t finished in 50 years and won’t this year. It’s a bitter pill for KC fans. I hate it too, but its just the way it is for today.

I do think Clark Hunt means well, he went out and got the best availables at the time but it just fell short, again.

  7. CG says:

Another failure for our Chiefs has been the ‘big contract’ payments…boy talk about pay and go bye bye…Houston, an injured Charles every year, now Eric Fisher who last year was decent this year not so much, Alex Smith’s deal, on and on….get paid and go bye bye seems to be the reality in KC. Look at the teams before same thing, Johnson and again on and on.

  8. E.H. says:

Why go to Pittsburgh on a Sunday night and get beat up? Do like the Pats did 2 years ago at KC and just lay an egg and save everything for Dec/Jan?

Look, KC could have tried their best at the Steelers home turf but they still prob would have lost. Not only that they would have shown their cards and got beat up in the process. Now they are still healthy and the other teams have zero tape to watch and learn what KC is capable of.

Genius coaching by Andy Reid…who’s copying what genius coach Belichick does.
