3358ae8b6887688460b76e3a38326f5aThe product on the field in the NFL is at best subpar…

Nobody will argue that it isn’t. There are only a few good starting quarterbacks left. Andrew Luck is out, as is Tony Romo. Drew Brees and  Big Ben are also out – and on and on.

Plus key receivers like Dez Bryant and half the starting running backs in the league – are also OUT. Early injuries have destroyed the better teams in the league. Not only that, half the offensive lines are just awful.

Again injuries, trades and money have caused all this crap.

The Chiefs are one of the league’s few healthy teams.

We just don’t have much of a team talentwise. And we have a horrid offensive line and a defense led by damaged, overrated “name” players. You know who they are. Dontari Poe has only one tackle in three games. Need I go further?

So why are the TV numbers up?

Simple, America bets on the NFL. Everyone is in a fantasy league or is betting legally on FANDUEL and DRAFT KINGS’ online. By the millions. Each week you can win millions on the NFL and not get arrested.

Bugsy Siegal would turn over in his grave. We change the rules to fix our American problems when it suites the powers that be. So now gambling is totally legal – and  don’t forget the lottery.

In college football K-State is on its way to another meaningless bowl game.

7e1a2af29a83b2bf612afd2743b8c497Missouri has found a quarterback who’s getting high marks each week. Now MU needs a couple wins to find its way to some shmo bowl. And I think they will. KU is disgusting and gets hammered today by Baylor.

As for the pros, our Chiefs are – dig this – a 10 point favorite over lowly Chicago.

At home and they likely will start an injured (but playing) Jay Cutler. However, the Chiefs can’t stop a pass or run, and they mostly kick field goals when they don’t turn the ball over.

However Chicago’s even worse, so the Chiefs win, but wouldn’t want to give up 10.

Packers and Pats look solid and they’re the only two teams you can trust these days to win – not sure on covers – cuz it’s all a crap shoot today. So bet on FANDUEL not Vegas.

I checked the CBS experts on against spread bets – and they cherry pick their games – and only two of nine of them were above .500 – and just and barely. It’s not easy. Hey, if some of you think you can do better let’s see your picks in college and pro BEFORE the games are played. How’s that?

COLLEGE

TCU -3 tease over K-STATE  with OU – 9 OVER TEXAS

FLORIDA +1 1/2 over MU TEASE WITH TCU -3 OVER KSU

PROS

GREEN BAY -21/2 OVER ST. LOUIS IN A TEASE with NEW ENGLAND -2 1/2 OVER DALLAS

The Royals may be a team of destiny after yesterdays come back win….with Toronto going out, the Royals likely could handle Texas and go to the World Series again!!! We’ll see. But I think Houston will come back to KC for game 5 here to decide the winner.

glaze…I’ve been following draft kings and these online gambling sites.
Found out that guys like jerry jones and buffet were investors.
Problem with these sites are numerous including the fact that thousands
of claims of scam are being centered on these sites.
Im not a fantasy football fan…don’t play…but invested 1000 dollars
and did well with a friend who does this type of activity.
Problme is that these sites are going to catch huge heat…becauseanytime you
take money from vegas or the corps who run vegas you get the heat.
The politics of these sites will have the pols who are in the pocket of vegas
plus the power of harry reid and the senators/congressmen in the pockets
of the vegasmoney men these sites probably won’t last.
I readthe reviews of hundreds/maybe thousands of people who have played
this deal and the vast overwhelming majority were totally negative.
When you have the billionaires like adelson and the vegas money men
    against you….you better havedeep pockets.
gambling is 100 billion dollar deal in sports in u.s. These guys are not
going to let it continue without a fight. And with their political pull and
the publics outcry against this type of “legal” gambling there will
    be winnersand losers.
I look for the pols to step in and with the recent scandal in these sites
about “insider” information (which they have since stopped) that
either they will have to be heavily regulated on the internet
or they will go down the tubes once the pols get their campaign
    contributions.
Look for a huge battle for those dollars and look to what the nfl/and other
leagues say. the advantage draft kings has is that they are now major
sponsors of the games and networks that deliver the games to viewers.
I think you’ve jumped the gun….in America the guy with the gold rules.
Vegas ain’t gonna give up without a fight…and they’ve got too much to
lose to let this industry grow without them getting a cut of the bucks.
Like your picks….mu should do okay but gators are very very tough team.
Chiefs…well you flipped and flopped so many times who knows where
    you stand.
Royals….incredible game frieday….we could really get to see another I 70
series and wouldn’t that be incredible…and speaking of I 70….have you
ever seen a more terrible highway in your life. Think you’re driving on
a golf course with all the bigholes…and the big trucks scare the hell out of
the drivers on this small interstate…when will Missouri/feds fix this piece of
    crap highway…..???????????

    – (nod Lloyd Christmas) “so you’re saying there’s a chance” they could be even worse than cellar AFC West if Smith & the rest the 1-3 heroes were out, CG?

Mmm… simple pleasures are the best

Tracks and signs left the football landscape animal known the swiss chiefs considered, CHIC v @KC has all the markings a real stinker. 1-3 Bears are bad but beat 2-2 OAK (if at home, Chicago), yet Raiders are better/ahead of the swiss in their own division. This a real conundrum, very little wheat to separate from the chaff. KC has tradition (1970), a great QB (Dawson), WR (O.Taylor) & LB (Bell); alas, that then, 2015 now.

Weighing merits and demerits, a toss-up: unlike the good old days ties were allowed end regulation (which created more possibilities/uncertainty a season’s race reached its end), circa 2015 such is not allowed, must be extra-chances give, extra quarter.

No winner, merely spared to lose another day… the swiss 23 bears 20… in overtime, of course.

    🙂

  3. Rainbow Man says:

DEN, GB, and CIN are three darned tough opponents, which leaves some shred of loss justification. But if we lose to CHI… say hello to a lot of orange seats on TV… with the rest being occupied by a bunch of meth heads who got free tickets.

  4. CG says:

Boy its a bitch picking any games these days…today was another example of WTF…OU 4 and 0 goes to Texas 1-4…a horrid team and gets beat…I know its a riveraly game but damn…TCU ranked number 2 in the nation needs OT AND a td to win the tease over KSU…in real life I won but TCU did not cover the 9 point spread…MU fells as expected to Florida and KU is a joke what 67 to 7 man…they need to stop playing..hire Bill Snyder..hah.

    • uhou eaarley says:

then freaking stop. You’re making a fool of yourself with these
pick and predictions that are always wrong.
remember you said the chiefs go all the way.
the royals won’t do much this year.
what more is needed to say…
if you were betting real money you’d be like the clown.

  5. Kerouac says:

    BEARS 18 @chiefs 17

    And the swiss season?

    • CG says:

K I am now going to write about one of the NFL’s worst and maybe most lost team outside Indy in the league…our chumps…as you have clearly explained and I agree its just a horrible franchise led by a young man who means well but has no clue…Clark. It’s time to clean house and now…keep Reid and terminate after season, with Dorsey…let Alex go…now would be good he is done, scared too death…Jamaal’s career may be over with that injury…if not, now soon…our core is old fast and just not good, Houston got his money and is now a rich bust..sad..fans need to stay aways from stadium to show HUNT time for a big change again.

      • Jess says:

That was a horrible game, they are lost.

      • Kerouac says:

Yes CG, old… even the younger ones aren’t real game-changers: Houston is no Bobby Bell or D.Thomas & was overrated to begin with; Berry is no Johnny Robinson whether they refer him a FS, SS or hybrid; Peters is young & has had some moments, but he’s obviously not good enough as evidenced by his allowing 1 td pass per game on average); Poe has a bad back (this matches his bad season to date; free agent Howard, is outplaying him)… so much for youth. Rest the D is an odd collection the halt, the lame, the never were’s and the never will be’s. Players specifically named above are the ones ‘over-hyped’ to death local fandom / media. If you say otherwise, you become a ‘hater’ in the eyes red kool-aid drinking faction.

Offense: in 5 games/ nigh on 1/3 the season, Maclin has exactly 1 td catch (Chiefs only by a true WR (DAT isn’t a WR no matter how the swiss list him.) So, 1 legit td pass to a wr 2015 – today, Cutler/Bears 1 threw one, and that was to the Bears 4th team WR, a 7th round draft choice even (he beat ‘Toast’ Peters, KC’s #1 pick.) All those ‘superstars’ ours on offense (like the defense, same) yet so little production. The aforementioned Maclin, Pro Bowlers Charles, Grubbs & Smith (Alex? Hard to believe, yes I know) plus ‘All World’ Kelce, ‘the best fullback the entire NFL, Sherman (according local fandom/legend) & the #1 overall pick the 2013 draft, Fisher.

        Bad coaching?

        Bad scheme?

        Bad players?

        Bad luck?

        It’s a conspiracy I tells ya, a conspiracy!

  6. Kerouac says:

(PS) That ‘circle jerk’ website known as (N)arrowhead pride.com recently offered a poll: is Jay Cutler a good QB? Was heavily ‘no’ votes against that impartial red kool-aid clique and several actually said the swiss Alex Smith is better. Nod Rod Serling’s ‘Twilight Zone’ intro, “submitted for your approval, today’s game.”

    🙂
