Glazer: This Year’s Chiefs Could Go (Almost) All. The. Way.

mac-850x560The final score; KC 24-17 over the St. Louis Rams on the road…

You’ve probably heard by now that the last two times KC went undefeated in preseason they went to the Super Bowl (1966 and 1969). Most will say the preseason means little. Me, I disagree. I think in this team’s case it means quite a bit.

First off, the mere fact this team won all four games matters because it makes them a confident bunch. Kinda like when the Royals won seven in a row to start the season. True, that was regular season but winning becomes a habit.

And look at the way the Chiefs won. They were dominant, omnipotent with a strong defense and man do they now have weapons.

The big guns were just that, Jeremy Maclin and Chris Conley looked awesome.

They are real deals.

we_are_the_champions_casorate_primoKC’s three quarterbacks all looked like NFL starters.

Chase Daniels is one of the leagues best backups and Aaron Murray looked like a solid starter. Yes, they played 2nd teams and 3rd teams, but the entire team looked more than ready. And the pass defense was solid to outstanding.

The Chiefs most important addition is a new offensive line.

Alex Smith threw to Maclin often and even had a few TD passes to wide outs. Our running backs all looked very sharp.

So did it matter? YOU BET IT DID.

Are the Chiefs a Super Bowl team? Not likely.

However, winning the division and being a good post season football team is a strong possibility. This team has talent all over the place.

Let’s review: I like KC to win the division.

Wow! The Royals magic looks to have rubbed off on the Chiefs.

We’ll see.

All I can do in LOL and SMH.

Alex Smith looked like hot garbage most of the pre-season and the Chiefs only won 2 of those games because Chase Daniel (not Daniels) was able to carve up some 2nd and 3rd string defenses. Even as a Mizzou fan, color me unimpressed. Tell you what, when it comes to the AFC West, you go ahead and count on Alex Smith, and I’ll count on Peyton Manning. And I hate the Broncos.

another change of course for glaze.
last week they had no talent…now they’re going almost all the way.
no wonder you are never right on anything.
you cant remember what you wrote just a week ago…and you forget
what you said and you are the worst sports predictor ever.
either you have a problem with remembering things…or you have no
facts/stats to back up any claims and you make outlandish
    claims and statements.
then when someone calls you on your ongoing flip flops you insult them
    and harass them.
please stop. Hearen get someone who has abrain start taking over the
    sports on this site.
stick to whatever youknow. We saw your faceplant on comedy last week so
now we see your best subjects are strippers/nightlife/strippers/strippers and
strippers (not necessarily in that order)…
    have fun.

Who does Chase Daniels play for?

    • CG says:

Yes horrid error in adding the S to his last name. My bad…I should be shot for sure.

More important guys, this was not a story saying the Chiefs are a shoe in for good things. They do have more talent this year than in the past no question. You have to be impressed with TWO wide outs that can get it done. We never have ONE..SO THAT’S HUGE in and of itself…4-0 matters even in the pre..it does..hey we will see, sure they could still suck no doubt, but I see a huge chance here…that’s all.

You said they were going to win the division. That’s not a good thing?

“Chase Daniels is one of the leagues best backups”

    – so is Alex Smith; alas, he starts for KC… as for Daniel, one of the shortest, to be sure. According the ‘official’ Chiefs roster, Daniel is 6’0 225 (more so about 5’9 7/8; he ‘may’ be 200 with all his pads on.) As for Daniel being one of the best backups, the website NFL.COM doesn’t share the love, they rank him no better than 11th; that may be too generous. Kerouac Capsule: a less athletic version former Chiefs QB Tyler Thigpen.

“and Aaron Murray looked like a solid starter.”

    – another vertically challenged guy stretches credulity: officially 6’1, doubt Murray is taller than 5’11 1/2. Would also be surprised if he is ever more a 3rd string QB, NFL. Kerouac Capsule: short, not especially mobile & possessor of a mediocre arm; other than that, 5th round steal.

“I like KC to win the division.”

    – I like the Swiss Chiefs to start the 2015 regular season 0-4; so much for pre-season results…

    🙂

But, as funny as that was Kero, I have seen Chase Daniel in person and that dude is a tank. You’re right about the height, but wrong about the weight. He is 230.

      • CG says:

Chuck we missed you buddy. I know calling games is gonna be even tougher this year…teams are just too close in quality. The bad ones aren’t that much worse than good ones…so picking winners with points tough.

      • Kerouac says:

“I’m done with football. Just another reason to glorify thugs and crime. ”

        – sadly, sports lost its innocence, charm & heroes a long time ago, with rare exceptions. Kerouac follows what is left out of habit and wistfulness, nod what once was but is no more and never will be again this splintered culture.

Today, it’s hard to distinguish the errant from virtuous, heroes from villains, pretenders from genuine the sports world & real life: #10 your Chiefs program is to vertical accuracy as Goodell is to being a Commissioner as Brady (and Hillary Clinton too) is to having integrity.

‘Yes Chuck, there is a Santa Claus’… or at least I believe there was, once upon a time.

        🙁

        • chuck says:

Kero, Glaze, I love you guys.

          Seriously.

          Things change.

            kero/glaze
            I love you guys.
Where could I get so many laughs and
not have to pay a $10 cover charge like I
            do at stanfords.
please keep writing. My side is hurting and
I can barely catch my breath from laughing
            so hard.
            Things change.
But don’t either of you leave town. Especially
            you glaze.
