Jack Goes Confidential: Schwarzenegger Reprises & Terminates

ArnoldSchwarteneggerTerminatorGenesysI’ll be back, gets a somewhat different play on words in TERMINATOR GENISYS

Or better put, a time shuffling of the legacy—-a cybernetic face lift.

Set in 2029 John Connor (Jason Clarke), leader of the human resistance, sends Sgt. Kyle Reese (Jai Courtney) back to 1984 to protect Sarah Connor (Game of Thrones Emilia Clarke) to safeguard the future.

But things don’t go smoothly.

An unexpected turn of events messes with the timeline and Reese now finds himself in a new and unfamiliar version of the past where he encounters the most dangerous enemies—not to mention unlikely allies.

And an unexpected NEW mission to reset the future!

Hello to The Guardian (Arnold Schwarzenegger.)

“I’m old. Not obsolete.”

Those words are uttered several times during this fifth installment of the franchise by 67 year old Arnold who, thanks to the miracle of digital wizardry, drastically changes his appearances during the film’s 126 minute running time.

Terminator-castNot being the biggest fan of the series, a lot of the goings on really didn’t mean that much to me. But according to fanboys of the Terminator franchise, GENISYS really pieces together a number of loose elements as the sci-fi action-adventure zig-zags through its time machine-laden scenario.

The rules have been reset in this non-stop cinematic battle to prevent Judgement Day.

Arnold Schwarzenegger: TERMINATOR GENISYS.

    ….So did I.
Matter of fact my grandson thought it was as good as “JURASSIC WORLD.”
Check out USA TODAY’s 1.5 star review. They REALLY blasted it.
As for me? It is what it is…..

  3. the dude says:

The plot sounds horrible from what I have read. Some kind of a reboot that rewrites what happened in the first Terminator. Pass.

  4. miket says:

speaking of reboots, anyone else remotely looking forward to “Creed”? out of the shadows (and past) comes Rocky Balboa! at least the plot isn’t about him fighting. I thought the trailer looked interesting.
