Glazer: Final Four NFL Playoff Picks

glazeAfter a season of upsets, injury and bad calls by refs, it comes down to the elite teams…

These teams were the favorites going into the season, with only Denver absent. Many picked Indianapolis over the Broncos to be in the AFC title game, but New England and Seattle were the favorites all along to go to the Super Bowl.

And today they’re still the favorites.

Green Bay has the great Aaron Rodgers, but beating the Seahawks on the road is unlikely given his calf injury. Thus the Pack is a huge eight point underdog. I think Marshawn Lynch will eventually wear down the Packers defense and Rodgers will be unable to repeat his outstanding performance last week against Tony Romo‘s Cowboys.

By the way, that was a catch for a TD by Dallas last week. It wouldn’t have won the game because the Packers still had four minutes left to score. But I like Seattle and don’t think it will be an edge of your seat ending.

Andrew Luck

Andrew Luck

New England has been the dominant team in the NFL over the last 12 years.

Why?

Two reasons: quarterback Tom Brady and head coach Bill Belichick.

The Colts, led by quarterback Andrew Luck, will be the next dominant AFC team.

That said, the weather is not looking good in New England and the Pats don’t have their center, which could spell turnovers for New England. I think the Pats will win a close one, but Indy could upset them.

Barring a huge upset, the Super Bowl should be between the Pats and the Seahawks as expected by most. It’s been a strange year though, so lets see how it plays out. I’d like to see Tom Brady get one more Super Bowl shot.

THE BET

SEAHAWKS -2 OVER PACKERS TEASE WITH INDY +13 OVER NEW ENGLAND

Kerouac sees it Packers vs Colts, with Green Bay prevailing (in other non-football news, the Swiss Chief continue to valiantly hold on to their 45 season sans Championship.)

    • Kerouac says:

And if you (Seattle) can’t beat em (Green Bay), let them beat themselves…be yet another case the best team not surviving, fluke prevailing. Seahawks with a little of that KCindy stuff today. OK Colts, now do the same to the overhyped Patriots.

      🙂

      • Kerouac says:

Superbowl 49 SEAT vs NE – two flukes no waiting – both beaten by the even more Cindy-ish Swiss KC Chiefs, the latter not even good enough make it to post season despite the easiest avenue / largest field of qualifiers NFL history. Anyone who doubted pro football has fallen into a state utter mediocrity needs no further evidence; they call it parity… Kerouac calls it embarra$$ing.

The good news? Royals spring training starts one month from ‘right now’, February 19th. Why before you know it, the Swiss Chiefs will be sweatin’ once more down in in St. Joseph too and we can start both teams the hamster wheels all over again.

        🙂

  3. Lance the Intern says:

also quite laughable how far off k-rac was, too. nice job, Oh Mighty Prognosticator.

    • CG says:

I know I was the only one in the picks who thought Indy would cover a closer game. Laughable right. Just me. By the way I wrote in the article it would be Pats and Seahawks you missed that one, huh?

  5. hahhararley says:

Doug Stanhope called you a scammer on the pod and claimed you were trying to trick him into doing some GGW knockoff at your bar and claiming it was required show PR. All the other 3 professionals there being interviewed for the NYE pod seemed to agree. No wonder he booked the Improv last time he came through…

    • CG says:

Well lets see on that one troll…Doug was on GGW.. he did the pr on that week and a few others…problem if we didn’t promote him from that he wasn’t well known really…he did ok with us not great..he does bars now..on his own…Doug is a good guy not a big star and I think we can live without him and our little list of Chris Tucker, Josh Wolf, Dave Coulier, Tom Arnold, Tommy Chong, Nikki Glaser, Mo Mandel, Carlos Mencia and well all those nobodies..and tons more..

To be honest we never tried to book Doug again. I don’t think he does Improv’s he doesn’t sell enough tix…he usually does the Record Bar here. I have nothing against him…he mentions me on radio… I don’t mention him..I do some radio myself…nationally as well…again I have no beef with him nor him with me..its all just to get fans like you to react thats all…like the pretend war me and Lisa Lamponelli have or me and Johnny Dare..continues cause its funny…dig?
