Whinery: The Boston Marathon Bombing ‘Reporting’

Boston-Marathon-bombing-runners-jpgIn another senseless act of violence, two bombs went off at the
finish line of the Boston Marathon leaving several people dead and
wounded…

And once again, as with any act of Domestic Terrorism, the mainstream
“Liberal” media pontificates that the bombings were perpetrated by “Right-Wing Extremists.”

aurora22n-2-webFollowing in the footsteps of ABC’s Brian Ross, who falsely accused a
Tea Party member of being the same James Holmes who killed all those people in the Aurora movie theater last year, CNN – “The Most Trusted Name in News”- national security analyst, Peter Bergen, speculated the following less than two hours
after this tragedy (when NO ONE really knows what happened):

“Once the device – if it is a device – is found: what kind of explosives
were used. So for instance, if it was hydrogen peroxide, this is the
signature of Al Qaeda. If it was more conventional explosives, which
are much harder to get a hold of now – that might be some kind of
right-wing extremist… We’ve also seen, for instance, right-wing groups
trying to attack the Martin Luther King parade in Oregon in 2010.”

AP Picture Desk ImageWatching Jake Tapper interview this clown was painful to say the
least. Bergen continued bloviating long enough to work in the
Oklahoma City Bombing which was perpetrated by Timothy McVeigh. McVeigh, who was more of a neo-Nazi than a right-wing extremist, was motivated by an obscure novel called The Turner Diaries which was assigned reading for a Political Science class I took during undergrad.

And let me tell you, The Turner Diaries has nothing to do with any
“right-wing ideologies I know of, like limiting the size and scope of
government. It dealt with a revolutionary group which advocated
terrorism to overthrow the US Government and establish one based on
Nazi Germany, which was a Socialist form of government run by
left-wing extremists.

Some news outlets were claiming that a Saudi national in Boston, here
on a student visa, is being held in a hospital as a suspect in the
bombings.

I think that Arabs are the only people more vilified than conservatives in the media these days.

Then you have the Alex Jones’ of the world saying this is a “false flag” event perpetrated by government actors as a precursor to Martial Law and rounding everyone up and throwing them in FEMA camps.

HUGH-CHRIS-MATTHEWS Then there was that pillar of journalistic ethics on MSNBC, Chris Matthews, blaming it on “Tax Day Protesters”

Yet as late as 7 pm CST, no one seemed to even know how many were killed and injured, let alone who had done it!

All these talking heads need to stop slandering groups of people and go back to reporting what is known instead of engaging in hateful conjecture.

Good points. Its beginning to look like it may not be an Arab group. May just be a nut. Low level pipe bombs. Still what a mess. How terrible. Shows how hard it is to defend against such attacks. They will get the ones who did it and fast.

  2. yakoff smirnoff and his hat says what a country says:

This will be used as a way to tighten the screws on white flyover-state america. Don’t trust Eric Holder and Janet Napolitano.

They want your weapons and they want your submission. This country is sliding down the hill and they want to make sure their interests are protected.

They want to make sure they get to continue the war abroad and keep people disarmed and reliant on the government for their sustenance.

That way the federal government strengthens it’s position as both Daddy the protector and Mommy the nurturer.

You can hear on loudspeakers before the explosions claiming this was all a drill to make sure people didn’t clear out of the blast zone. Why would you not want people to move away?

  3. Not quite says:

That’s your biggest complaint? Not that a terrorist attack took place in Boston, killing three people, maiming hundreds and saddening millions? Whinery, indeed. It’s not right that these THREE people speculated when there was no information pointing towards anything concrete, but what do you expect when there’s 24 hours of airtime to fill? The vast majority of reporting done yesterday was straight and factual, the New York Post notwithstanding.

  4. perspectives says:

Three people die on a hot night in Killa City. But you better believe that they will turn this into political capital.

Get ready for the first use of the phrase “national conversation”. That means something is about to get forced on you!

  5. goose13 says:

I bet this might start having Law Enforcement pushing heavily to use Drones. They have been wanting to buy them already.

  6. Mysterious J says:

“Nazi Germany, which was a Socialist form of government run by
    left-wing extremists.”

Wow, you really are a fucking idiot.

  7. smartman says:

Low level pipe bombs my ass. May want to do some homework on that SeeGee. Hint, Pressure Cookers designed to inflict maximum damage. Mission Accomplished. Yesterday was a game changer for how family’s will think about going to large scale public events.

MSM needs the perp to be a white skinned right wing nut job or the whole immigration bill goes down the shi¤tter along with the future of the democrat party.

No group is more patient than the Muslims. They make Job look like a meth addict with ADD. Who knows how many illegals currently in the US are waiting for their call to Jihad?

    • anonymouse says:

I did see the Gang of 8 has postponed their amnesty bill that they were going to announce today with much fanfare and self congratulatory back-patting.

    • paulwilsonkc says:

Smarty is right…… they make 1,000 year plans with NO concern about their imediacy. They dont care if they ever see the outcome, they are dedicated to the cause, however off base they may be. They plan multiple generations ahead…. all for the sake of Alah.

    • wabbit hole says:

you will find this link interesting. 2010 CNN article about Samir Khan’s Newsletter on how to make pressure cooker bombs…Khan was killed in a drone strike in 2011 in Yemen.

      http://www.cnn.com/2010/WORLD/meast/10/12/mideast.jihadi.magazine/index.html

      from the article:

An idea in the first edition, “Make a Bomb in the Kitchen of Your Mom,” is touched on again.
“The pressurized cooker should be placed in crowded areas and left to blow up. More than one of these could be planted to explode at the same time. However, keep in mind that the range of the shrapnel in this operation is short range so the pressurized cooker or pipe should be placed close to the intended targets and should not be concealed from them by barriers such as walls.”
Adam Raisman, senior analyst at SITE Intelligence Group, said the “very well-presented magazine” covers a variety of topics, is meant to reach a wider audience, and tries to be tongue-in-cheek in its presentation.

  8. chuck says:

I am gonna wait and see what develops.

  9. rww says:

I am not making light of this subject. No one except the affected victims and their familys are more pissed off about this than I am. However I have a few suggestions to prevent this from happening again. First, we must ban bombs that can kill or injure more than 15 people at a time. Bombs that can kill or injure up to 30 people are way to powerful. Next we must have background checks for people before they can legally build bombs. Finally we should post (NO BOMBS ALLOWED) signs at all public events. This will keep all of the bad guys from planting any bombs in public areas. I feel safer already.

  10. Orphan of the Road says:

We got fundamentalist Muslims, we got fundamentalist Jews. We got fundamentalist Christians, they’ll blow the whole world up for you.

Bill Hicks was correct, humans are just viruses with shoes.

    • the dude says:

      Sounds about right to me.

      • CG says:

Bill Hicks was great, Stanfords was one of his home clubs, wrote about us in his book, good guy. Died too young. They say Dennis Leary stole his act, maybe. New on the suspect or suspects is thin, they don’t seem to know much…might just be one or two crazies. Feds don’t think it was an Arab group. “They didn’t make a big enough bomb or kill enough people” … harsh statement, but does sound kinda true to this point. As Chuck said lets see what happens.

  11. paulwilsonkc says:

The Weekly Standard, 4/12 – “The war on terror is over,” a senior official in the State Department official tells the National Journal. “Now that we have killed most of al Qaida, now that people have come to see legitimate means of expression, people who once might have gone into al Qaida see an opportunity for a legitimate Islamism.”

If this just arrested suspect isn’t a white, male nutbag….. what do you expect we will hear next? Obama told us this was over, he’s covered it… we’re in the clear!! If the suspect is a “dark skinned” person……. now what?

    • Orphan of the Road says:

“I care nothing for principles — they are lumber and rubbish. What concerns our happiness and welfare, as affectable by our fellow men, is conduct. ‘Principles, not men,’ is a rogue’s cry; rascality’s counsel to stupidity, the noise of the duper duping on his dupe. He shouts it most loudly and with the keenest sense of its advantage who most desires inattention to his own conduct, or to that forecast of it, his character. As to sin, that has an abundance of expounders and is already universally known to be wicked. What more can be said about it, and why go on repeating that? The thing is a trifle word worn, whereas the sinner cometh up as a flower every day, fresh, ingenuous and inviting. Sin is not at all dangerous to society; what does all the mischief is the sinner. Crime has no arms to thrust into the public treasury and the private; no hands with which to cut a throat; no tongue to wreck a reputation withal. I would no more attack it than I would attack an isosceles triangle, or Hume’s ‘phantasm floating in a void.’ My chosen enemy must have something that has a skin for my switch, a head for my cudgel – something that can smart and ache. I have no quarrel with abstractions; so far as I know they are all good citizens.” Ambrose Bierce
