Whinery: The Skinny on Kevin Yoder’s Nude Dip in Galilee Sea

Now for the non-story, story of the day – we have U.S. Rep. Kevin Yoder of Kansas skinny dipping “controversy’…

During a non-taxpayer funded trip to Israel, in the Sea of Galilee- where Jesus performed most of his ministry- the fine Congressman, along with about 20 other lawmakers, decided to take a dip into the water… sans swimsuit.

THE HORROR!

This is another one of those “scandals” that only happens in puritanical America. The Kansas Democratic Party thinks Yoder should step down for skinny dipping.

How stupid is that?

European and Middle Eastern Pilgrims go into the Sea of Galilee, sans swimsuits, all the time for religious reasons, or maybe just cause they are hot.

The most ridiculous part of this is that it happened LAST YEAR!

Why should anyone care what Yoder did a year ago? Have “Puritanical” Kansas Dems lost their minds? Yoder has plenty of controversial votes out there to criticize- but what he did on his own time in Israel a year ago is a ridiculous reason to call for someone”s resignation.

And if  Dems are so concerned about Yoder’s swimwear – or lack thereof – why did they not even field a candidate against him?

    He was instituting a “GOP gay check” to make sure he did not get a rise out of any potentially closeted members. Kind of like the Tenacious D I love you check, gotta root out them queers in the party, ya know. 😉

    We have a President who was a serial cheater, got BJ’s in the oval office, worst of all introduced WAY too much humidity to a GREAT cigar, and where is he today? Why, he’s the hero of the Democratic party and STILL our first black President!!

    I dont agree with what Yoder did, Im not a “Yoder Voter”, but come on, can we have a little perspective and balance here?

    Heck with the Democrats – where has the Republican “outrage” been? After all, this is the party that is supposed to be all about family values, the values exemplified by the fruit of the spirit referenced in Galatians, one of which is self-control. I guess the GOP’ers are too busy getting on Todd Akin’s case at this time to worry about Mr. Yoder’s silly stunt.

      Rick, an interesting comment on a talk show yesterday, paraphrased, went something like this;

      “Im a Bible believing, fundamental Southern Baptist conservative minister and from my point of view….. this guy has to GO!!!”

      I think you’re seeing the outrage. Today 3 formers have stepped up and said he needs to leave the race. Its happening. Hard core right wing nut jobs cant defend that…. and they know it.
