Hearne: Time to Unleash the ‘Elephant’ in the Room

Can we talk?

For weeks one of the Cowtown’s most colorful characters has been missing in action. I think you know who I’m talking about.

That’s because Stanford & Sons point man Craig Glazer‘s health has taken a dramatic turn for the worse. And it’s come to the point where his life may now be hanging by a thread.

Many of you know Craig as an in-your-face, know-it-all, put-up-your-dukes comedy dude – and a force to be reckoned with.

And make no mistake, all of those stereotypes are well deserved.

His orneriness was in evidence even as Craig waited recently for a cab to take him to the hospital, where he got into it with the cab driver and punched his lights out, thereby injuring his typing hand to the point he could no longer vent his frustration here on KCC about the Royals and his high hopes for Patrick Mahomes and this year’s Chiefs

At this point though, all of Craig’s dazzling sports dreams and all of that angst is in the rearview mirror alongside the final incarnation of his now-closed Stanford’s downtown.

Because Craig is battling for his life, and the next several days may be critical in terms of him making it over the hump…or not.

Time will tell.

So cross your fingers and try and think a few positive thoughts for the man we know here – for better and for worse – as “the scribe.”

The latest: Craig is undergoing “high risk” surgery this morning, from which there is a “high possibility” that he may not survive.

  2. Stomper says:

Wow, thanks for the update Hearne. Can you advise best way to send him a note?

At this stage of the game, I’m not sure…

Last I heard there was a good chance he would not survive today’s surgery

    Publicity stunt?

Damn. CG always seemed like a nice guy. Really hoping he pulls through!

Junior must have past away, he was the only thing Craig seemed to live for.

    So damn sad.

Craig often left messages to either agree or disagree with my take on things (i.e. reviews).
And frankly I also enjoyed hearing and reading HIS side of things.
    Here’s hoping he pulls through!

  7. unknown comic says:

somewhere an exec with the national Improv chain rubs his hands together in a slightly hunched forward position

  8. chuck says:

Hoping Craig is back on his feet soon.

  9. Kerouac says:

A speedy recovery, CG: you don’t wanna miss out on the 2018 season’s Chiefs Superbowl parade… even if they will (this is our year, part 2018, verse 49)
