Glazer: It’s Official; Chiefs One of Worst Teams in NFL

When one of the worst teams in the NFL with a patchwork, stink team beats you…

Even when you’re an 11 point favorite on the road, its over.

The Chiefs may not be in the playoffs now and sure shouldn’t be. Once considered the best in the league, they’re now one of the worst teams in the NFL.

How can they not be?

The team is 1-4 in the last several weeks with no defense and now no offense. We have almost no running game, can’t block anybody, any running back can run over our lineman, missed tackles, dumb calls like the Travis Kelce bomb he threw for an INT, penalties on the rare good runs to bring them back -on and on.

In short, this is a poor football team with little chance to fix anything..why? NO TALENT…ALMOST NONE.

Yes, Tyreek Hill is effective but we can’t get him the ball much. Kelce is a good tight end but still drops too many passes and is not around when a game is on the line. He can’t do anything – again, he is Tony Gonzalez light – his stats but no big wins…EVER.

So sad for our fans. It’s over folks.

The Chiefs lost to the Giants in overtime 12-9 and were well handled by a very bad team with nothing to play for but pride, if that.

Alex Smith who is now the failed game manager again was officially intercepted twice but really about 4 times with a couple called back for penalties. He is done. The one time MVP candidate’s career is over in Kansas City. He should have been replaced at half time by the much more talented, faster, younger, has a much stronger arm No. 1 draft pick, Pat Mahomes.

We would have, of course ,won the game.

However this is a bad team with a horrid offensive line, no running game at all, one wide out and a good-not-great tight end – thats all we got, folks

The Chiefs have zero pass rush. None. They couldn’t get to the slow, 37 year old sack machine quarterback Eli Manning.

Our playoffs hope are dead and we’re getting to be a joke.

WHO CAN THIS BAD TEAM BEAT?

It’s time to move on and start the rebuild now with Pat.

Call Alex in, thank him for his service and bench him.

Hey, he’s a brave guy, he tries real hard and had 5 great games but its over now.

The only place Alex is MVP is in his bank account.

Oh, almost forgot…what a great coach Andy Reid is after a bye week. Boy, that two week rest sure helped, huh.?

It’s time to let DJ go, Tamba Hali, Dee Ford, Eric Fisher and about five other guys. Time to start the rebuild.

Considering the damage and lack of talent, this team is at least two years away from being anything much. That I can see. Our receivers for the most part can’t get open deep and when they do Alex can’t hit them, Pat could.

Time to find out.

With Pat in it might ignite some energy and we might win a few, beat a low level playoff team at Arrowhead. Maybe Pat gets us 4 wins and we end 10-6. I don’t think Alex can do that anymore. Do you?

From first to worst. Happens.

It happened here and we are all sad about it, but there is always next year, right?

K….happy holidays.

WE have boring bowl games with MU and K-State, nice. KU basketball looks very good. So let’s watch this football team out of one eye, hope for better days but understand its just not there right now.

ANDY REID I KNOW YOU GUYS READ THESE ARTICLES. FOR EVERYONES SAKE CALL IN ALEX SMITH, HUG HIM AND TELL HIM THANKS, THEN LET HIM DOWN GENTLY AND SAY THE LONG GOOD-BYE. HE CAN PLAY ELSEWHERE NEXT YEAR OR RESIGN FROM THE NFL FOR THE BOOTH IF HE LIKES. HE’S WELL OFF, IT’S HIS CALL.

  4. Kerouac says:

CG, nod fandom’s hope Mahomes, Kerouac understands… say ‘hope’ instead ‘promise’ due what occurred yesterday to BUFF’s rookie QB Peterman, his first NFL start vs the Chargers – 5 ints in one half of football alone.

Such a result was not expected there any more than what happened in NY to KC, nor would it be expected if Mahomes played vs the Chargers or any other team an decent defense. Only… ‘ordure’ happens modern morass NFL, where ‘no team is left behind’ greatest extent the league can ‘fix’ it, every given Sunday.

The reason Mahomes will not get in a game shy Smith getting injured is belief, pride and hope, a noble if misplaced triumvirate KC’s brain trust starting with ‘The Clark’s’ management, including Reid. Long as the swiss are mathematically and subjectively eligible, hope will spring eternal, possibility embraced rather than objectivity; would be considered an act of surrender by Reid/The Clark’s et al to do anything else.

Too, Reid traded for Smith and my guess is has great loyalty to him; benching Captain Checkdown would not affirm Reid’s sentiment and would also likely alienate a portion (perhaps a great portion) of the players, my guess. Too, if Smith is a definite ‘goner’ in consideration the 2018 season, any return the Chiefs might hope to gain for their then benched QB, would take a hit. Call it being stuck or Upshot: whether some would call it being stuck or bad luck, KC is gonna try to go to the big dance with the one brought em, for better or worse, 2017… just the way it is.

  5. Henry Otting says:

You hit the nail on the head I wonder what happened they were so good a rookie was against Houston ad controlled him all day. That is sad I think we need younger players on defense time to clean it up. I always thought Eric Fisher was a bust I never knew what they saw in him but he is going to get any quarter back killed. Offensive line can’t open holes so that’s right keep running it up the middle. I had high hopes for Alex after the first 5 games guess the other defenses have figured out the Chiefs. when you can’t do anything in front of a defense that is 31st in the NFL something is seriously wrong . My thoughts we go against Buffalo next week at home I hope they bring their A game cause we haven’t seen it for awhile and even though Bills have lost a few they still have a better defense than the Giants .

  6. The Word says:

The Chiefs will make the playoffs. But they have one and done written all over them. Forget New England or Pittsburgh are the Chiefs better then Jacksonville or even the Ravens or Titans? I can see the Chiefs lump to the playoffs face Baltimore and lose on a last second FG with a score of 17 to 14.

  7. David says:

The playoff loss in 2014 – a 28 point lead at the half and they lose. That’s where they lost me. This loss just drives home why I watch with speculative eyes – Chiefs games are just background noise and not an event like they used to be. I was a HARD fan to lose, but they always seem to find a way to drive me away. It’s like your kid finally gets a job and takes a dump in the fryer. That kind of fun. Maybe they should move to Los Angeles with every other lost cause…

    • CG says:

DAVID DONT LOOK NOW, THE RAMS ARE IN PLAYOFFS AND VERY GOOD, BETTER THAN US, AND THE CHARGERS ARE NOW THE BEST TEAM IN OUR DIVISION WITH A REAL SHOT AT WILD CARD OR IF WE KEEP LOSING WINNING THE DIVISION AT 9-7 OR 8-8…yep.

  8. E.H. says:

I think after this ugly loss Andy threw Alex Smith under the bus by saying it’s the QB’s job to blah, blah, blah.
Now we know why Harbaugh replaced Alex Smith in mid season with one year wonder Colin Kaepernick.
This town is going to go apeshit with Mahomes under center!
