Your well-coiffed scribe is here to tell you, if you’re reading this story you’re likely born white…
And if so, you should feel guilty about it, according to Morgan State University Assistant Professor, Lawrence Brown. Not only guilty, but so guilty you should take your money, head straight to the bank and deposit it in any black person’s account you can think of.
Why? Because you didn’t really earn it; they’re black, end of story.
You’re white and you need to make amends.
Who is Lawrence Brown, you ask?
He’s the grandson of sharecroppers who lived in the Mississippi Delta and a native of West Memphis, Arkansas. Lawrence graduated from Morehouse College with a degree in African American Studies. He went on to get a Master of Public Administration from Houston University and his Doctorate in Health Outcomes and Policy Research at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center.
Being black in America and the descendant of share croppers has really hurt Brown’s ability to get ahead.
The title of his dissertation is, “The Multilevel, Multicultural, and Multi-temporal Eco social Framework of Population Health: How Neighborhoods, Culture, and History Impact Health Outcomes and Produce Health Disparities.”
We’re led to believe Harley’s a white journalism major; yet he can’t even tell you what the word dissertation means!
Lawrence first came to the media’s attention last year with a tweet stating the GOP, Fox News and Breitbart are all white supremacists and saying white cops lack moral capacity to do their jobs.
Personally, I’m guessing Lawrence is a little testy over having all that education and is still just an assistant professor. However that may have more to do with Brown’s obvious attitude than oppression.
But back to reparations, what’s Brown’s solution to ending white supremacy?
Take your white privilege money, which he defines as “unearned” because you are, after all, white, and give it to a black person. Any random black person.
Why? Same old reason – You’re personally responsible for slavery and need to pay.
Lest we forget, a goodly amount of blacks were sold by other blacks in Africa.
And since we’re talking about Africa, no one has more to complain about than the Jews who were held for hundreds of years as slaves in Egypt.
So, Professor Lawrence, do me a favor. I’m positive you are well intentioned in your search for repayment and equality. I’d like to ask you a favor. Determine how much is owed to the Jews and get back to me.

I mean, I DIDN’T ask who this random Twitter user was, (can you imagine all the outrageous stories you could cover from random twitter account opinions) but you thought he was an important enough figure to give a brief biography on. My ancestors didn’t emigrate to the U.S. from Prussia until well after slavery was abolished. Neither me, nor anyone in my family had anything to do with slavery in the U.S. I’m not paying a cent to anyone.
But, Guy, you’re guilty by association! Whether or not you had personal involvement doesn’t matter! You have any money? If so, it’s not yours because you still benefited for the toils of slave labor!

Say $50k was deposited in every black person’s account. What exactly would that change? They’d go through the money in a year or two and then be right back where they started.
Nothing will change for those that live in the past and play the victim card. However, those that work hard might surprise themselves and find that anything is possible. Heck, they could even be president one day.

I’ve always contended that you could give a poor man $5 million dollars and a rich man $5 million dollars, and at the end the rich guy would end up with all of the poor guy’s money. Why? Because most of the time, the rich guy is rich for a reason. He’s smarter, works harder, is an entrepreneur, etc…. Now that’s not true 100% of the time, but in general it is.

All great topics and while I don’t always agree with your take, especially on politics, you write fairly and offer support for your position. You also don’t go over the top with partisan rhetoric and politely accept just about all criticism. Your pieces almost always lead to civil and intelligent discourse on important topics of the day.
