Lefsetz: Trump Blows Out Hillary

160926213408-clinton-trump-debate-hofstra-your-own-reality-sot-one-00012411-large-169I can’t remember a thing Hillary Clinton said…

We’ve seen this movie before, when Arnold Schwarzenegger ran against Gray Davis –Β the lovable Terminator/Twin against the career politician/policy wonk. It was no contest, Arnold won.

And we went on a misadventure wherein California’s steam was picked up by Texas, because it turns out a celebrity debater might not be a good politician.

But don’t tell the public that.

Hillary is inauthentic.

She’s been scrutinized so long that she’s become gun-shy. She over-prepares and thinks with her head not her heart and the truth is we’re all human beings and we relate most to those who evidence their humanity.

Hillary was a smiling robot, I thought she was gonna recite the 39 Steps.

But the Donald…

He was not what he was supposed to be, a bloviating buffoon who was going to make ill-tempered comments about his opponent. We can debate whether he appeared Presidential, but he certainly appeared reasonable.

Unless you’re a Hillary supporter.

This is a game folks. Take off your blinders, cast aside your elite degree and get into the pit and try to see what’s truly going on.

Donald Trump is telling people things are bad and he’s gonna make them better, that he cares about you.

And how does he do this?

THROUGH EXAMPLES!

debateThere was one personal story after another, about a friend, a business colleague, a reporter, Trump seemed like a real person living in the real world.

Hillary looked like someone who lived in a bunker, surrounded by handlers, who only deigned to come out because the nation required it.

I knew Hillary was in trouble from the beginning. When she started off in a measured tone, sans emotion, and then refused to bite back at the Donald.

He was leaving himself wide open. She could have gone on the attack.

But she was not employing a rope-a-dope strategy. She never barked back, she never went for the jugular, she just kept repeating her talking points over and over and over again.

It made me wish she’d done NO preparation.

This debate is not an academic exercise scored by professionals. No, this is a raucous fracas scored by the public and Trump won.

Because he played his game. One hiding in plain sight that no one in Clinton’s camp seemed to be aware of. He walked all over his Republican competitors and now it appears he might walk over Hillary Clinton too.

Authenticity wins in the end. Relatability. We don’t want to know how the sausage is made, just if it tastes good. And if you give us a free beer we’ll let you screw us, it’s the American Way. Give in on the small stuff and pull the wool over our eyes on the big stuff. That’s how Trump got to where he is.

Trump said America is losing and he’s a businessman who can get better deals which will aid all Americans. He said jobs were flowing across our borders and Hillary…

Didn’t respond.

Trump left himself wide open. Why did the corporations leave? How many really did? At first he said hundreds, then he said THOUSANDS! And Hillary recited her plan, boilerplate that had my eyes rolling into the back of my head.

Over and over and over again, Trump made inane, inaccurate statements and rather than delve into them, Hillary whipped out wonkish statements about how the world really works and said she’s got experience and this is her plan.

OF COURSE SHE’S GOT THE EXPERIENCE! OF COURSE SHE’D BE A BETTER PRESIDENT! BUT FIRST SHE’S GOT TO WIN!

But she can’t.

She’s like an aging rocker who thinks he can still have hits in a world dominated by Kanye.

A complainer with a modicum of talent who knows it’s about being in the public eye each and every day, about owning the dialogue, about biting back at the naysayers. Clinton’s playing by 90’sΒ rules. It’s like she still hasn’t gotten over Bill losing the governorship of Arkansas.

Which is why America is the story of the young eating the old. The know-nothings who don’t know any better. Experience kills. Ideas and motivation. Look at the music industry. Techies not only decimated it, they ended up owning it. Along with the taxi industry and businesses that could not previously be fathomed.

Hillary’s out of touch. She’s so focus-grouped that she’s lost her identity.

No, you didn’t want to sit home and bake cookies. OWN IT!

The hard core Trump supporters ARE deplorables. You speak the truth and then back away, letting the press have a field day, owning the story to your detriment.

The majority of our nation is poorly educated, can’t analyze a situation and can’t separate fact from fiction. You wonder why Trump’s a contender? They’d rather see theatre than truth. Trump gives them “Star Wars,” Hillary gives them “Bambi.”

You can’t let your competitors define you.

She smiled and was even-handed so she wouldn’t appear the shark she’s been labeled.

But what helped the African-Americans gain traction and pride? Owning the “N” word.

Pushing back.

And if you don’t think the blacks own youth culture you don’t have a Snapchat account; you’re probably on Facebook posting pictures of your high school reunion.

The final chapter has not been written. But today the polls have Trump about even.

In order for Hillary to win, she must appeal to the undecided, of which there are very few. Forget you, forget me, we’ve already made up our minds. But, if for some reason you’re unsure…

Today Trump’s offense ran right through Hillary’s defense.

Despite the brouhaha about Matt Lauer letting him slide, Trump ran right over Lester Holt too.

If Hillary’s such a fighter, she needs to PUNCH!

Only losers believe the rules apply in a knife fight.

Sending us to your website to check facts, to read about Donald’s lies?

We’re right in front of you, can’t you close us here?

If Hillary were an act, she would not get a deal. Like a Berklee graduate who knows all the notes she’d be trumped by Lil Yachty.

I want Hillary Clinton to run my government.

But she’s got no idea about show business.

And never forget, politics is show business for ugly people.

And that applies to you too Donald.

  1. FUNNY LEFTY…EVEN MIKE MORRIS (major republican consultant)…STEVE
SCHMIDT (3 time republican presidential manager)…FOX NEWS/LUNTZ ALL SAID
IT WAS A KNOCKOUT AND A HUGE LOSS FOR DUMPSTER.
She cleaned the floor with him…….she mopped the floor with his atrocious
    hair.
    LEFTY…I’D HATE TO BE YOU.
No lefty….it’s already over. Hillary will get over 300 electoral votes.
Did you follow my advice and get some anti depressants?
If you can’t find help…just walk into an emergency room. They’ll calm you
    down!

  2. The Word says:

“Majority of snap polls show Trump won debate by a landslide despite CNN’s overwhelming victory for Hillary in biggest official survey”

Interesting. I didn’t think Trump did well. But this is 2016, the age of reality TV. And in 2016 Trump is the biggest reality star there is.

Looking at the comments this one stands out to me:

“Luckily for her, the MAJORITY of polls are not deciding the election. Unluckily for her, the Majority of PEOPLE polled ARE deciding the election.”

  3. HEY LEFTY…LET ME MAKE YOUR DAY WORSE.
AS MIKET SAID ‘I’d hate to be you” about your life
as HARLEY says “Id wish I was never born if I had lefty’s life”
THIS IS FROM FRANK LUNTZ….TOP REPUBLICAN POLLSTER/WORDSMITH
AND THE STAR OF HANNITY FOR HIS RIGHT WING VIEWS…READ THIS…
BUT FIRST REMOVE ALL SHARP ITEMS FROM YOUR HOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

FRANK LUNTZ: So we asked [our debate focus group] when they were done — these are truly undecided voters between the candidates — and 16 of them felt that Hillary Clinton had won the debate, had brought them closer to her candidacy. Only five of them picked Donald Trump. And the remaining six percent were tied. There were four key components here. Number one is that Donald Trump, when he was attacking the system, he was doing well. When he was defending himself, that was a disaster. Number two, Hillary Clinton was so well-prepared for this, and I agree with what Maureen [Dowd] said. And I actually had written down the word baiting him within three minutes of the debate opening, and she did it again and again and again, and Trump responded horribly. Number three, you don’t speak over the moderator ever, and viewers — our undecideds — felt that he was frankly rude to Lester Holt. And number four is that Trump described the problems effectively, but he didn’t have the solutions. She was not quite as effective in discussing the problems, but they felt that she had better answers. In the end, solutions beat problems.

    Now see a doctor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  4. This was the first time millions of americans got to see trump.
Many had seen him in debates before but with 15 guys involved he didn’t
have to explain himself or put out his voice on his positions.
    One on one…hes lost.
Hillary has another 3 hours to wipe the floor with this idiot.
I said it in all my previous comments about this debate procedure.
And guess what!!!!!! HARLEY WAS RIGHT AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Trump has no way of solving problmes. Like glaze if he was to have
his dishwasher break down. Does he just stand there and complain
about the dishwasher. Does he do all his own dishes by hand.
Does he disobey codes and just not wash them. Of course glaxze would
call someone to fix the dishwasher who knew how to do it or he’d go
    buy another dishwasher.
For trump it’s bitch bitch bitch. No solutions.
And on redstate…they made him look like a fool…his own party made him
    look like a fool.
He settled a discrimination lawsuit…..couldn’t get the number of bankruptcies
he had straight….interupped lester incessantly…..and look what the unbiased
    viewers said about him.
Just as Harley predicted. Dumpster can’t stand up for 3 more hours and take
the relenting punishment of preparation/of know facts/ of understanding
our commitments to nation around the world (dumpster wants to end nato…
great…imagine putin taking over the two former soviet states that are now
members of nato….can we say ww3?)
And eventually if dumpster doesn’t release his taxes….Obama will and it
will show what we already know……DUMPSTER LIED ABOUT THAT TOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  5. chuck says:

“Despite the brouhaha about Matt Lauer letting him slide, Trump ran right over Lester Holt too.”

Holt’s very first question, on the economy and employment, was a faulty premise, unchallenged by Trump. There are over (By most estimates that I read.) 85 million people out of the work force. The pretense that the economy, peripatetically staggering along the edge of a bubble/precipice with 1% growth per year is healthy, must have been talking points garnered from Hillary’s doctor (And again, NO, you can’t keep yours.) Holt was more in the bag than GG Alin on his 21st birthday.

Lester Holt, won the debate. He was biased, posed questions that pressed Trump on the many issues that the Democrats have pressed him on and pressed Hillary on Zilch, Nada, Nyet, Ze fuckin ro.

The 4th Estate, is the ne plus ultra, nefarious, mendacious and pernicious catalyst pushing the destruction of American Culture and the Judeo/Christian ethos. The total lack of objectivity under the pretense of objectivity, on display, on stage, in your face, by this so called “journalist” is not just as insult to the tenets of what in our freshly remembered past was the stanchion of good Journalism, it is an insult to those Americans, not willfully impercipient and I hope, a Cri de Coeur for us all to wake up and throw these elitist, globalist, scofflaws out of office forever.

The debate itself will be, in this column and all over the US, a perfect example of the Rashomon Effect. Objectivity, especially on the Progressive side of the trench is filtered through an emotional, solipsistic and affected, holier-than-thou prism, which presumes the high ground. But we can all count and we all know, what the issues were, coming into the debate, where the candidates had exposure. Lester was in the bag, as usual.

“The hard core Trump supporters ARE deplorables. You speak the truth and then back away, letting the press have a field day, owning the story to your detriment.”

Define “Hard Core Trump Supporters”? No, he will imply the slurs, the insults the calumny and let the echo chamber echo.

No one is “39 Stepping” anyone Leftistsays, but you ARE trying to “Gaslight” us.

Best piece of satire on the internetz this morning….

  8. Kerouac says:

This topic being Presidential in nature, as a former was fond of saying, ‘well let me say this about that’… Trump for the win if reports of post-debate results are the measure. Far as said is concerned, after doing some online analysis of no less 50 opinion polls, it appears ‘we the people’ watched, listened and spoke’ – the red-head whomped blondie.

Kerouac’s take: most folks votes have already decided, thus were not swayed based on last night’s get together, whether Republican, Democrat or Independents, to any great degree. Surely no boon for either candidate, i.e., no knockout… but, ‘ya’ll come back for round 2 now, here.’

41 different post debate opinion polls show 41 with Trump prevailing, 9 went Clinton – this is notable, and certainly more valuable than singular pundits any to include you, me and the water fountain. An cursory check of Google, asking ‘who won the debate’ with no bias go to conservative or liberal sites, validating. Not to say that an number pundits/focus groups did not have their own views; then again don’t all of us, which is the point.

Polls numbering hundreds of thousands votes cast, a couple links compilations (below):

    infowars.com/poll-who-won-the-first-presidential-debate/

    theconservativetreehouse.com/2016/09/26/polls-polls-polls-ok-who-won-the-debate/

I verified by going to each website, individually. What does it mean? Perhaps nothing… as stated afore, folks have pretty much already decided and opinions were not changed one way or the other. Will say this: it is affirming to see ‘real folks’ have their voices (as in votes) counted, instead of ‘any’ the well-known ‘mouthpieces’ trying shape it, both D and R leaning. In conclusion, add but this: vote early, vote often & remember friends…

    ‘MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN’

    TRUMP 2016

    • Kerouac says:

“41 different post debate opinion polls show 41 with Trump prevailing, 9 went Clinton”

      – that should read ’50’ different… OUT DAMN TYPO!

Kerouac will add this too – my impression of Clinton & Trump last night was affirmed as follows: she comes across as a face and demeanor that belongs on the cover a Betty Crocker Cookbook, not one who belongs in an summit with Vladimir Putin for example… he would make mincemeat of her.

Trump may be a bit theatrical, but he also comes across as strong in a Reagan-esque way, speaking of a President who ‘led’ instead of ‘lied’, nod either of the Clinton’s deux. Today more than ever, we as a nation need strength & resolve insttead of more business as usual the career politician’s. Kerouac thanks you for your vote TRUMP 2016.

      πŸ˜‰

      • Mike says:

I’m sure as long as she had her custom-made lectern she would be able to put Putin in his place.

        • Kerouac says:

Betty Crocker did manage stand on her own two feet (tho not up to Trump’s salvos) for 1 1/2 hours last night, albeit her dancing left eye’s cartwheels were unable focus/notice.

          πŸ™‚

  9. paulwilsonkc says:

I wrote a piece last week in which I said I was predicting the debate advantage would go to Trump. I believed that for the first ten minutes of the debate. And having read the polls of 27 media outlets and major papers this morning giving the win to Trump, I disagree.
So many missed opportunities and so many times he went off the reservation.
Hillary lecturing Trump on CYBER SECURITY after her email scandal was like being lectured on proper parenting by Casey Anthony….and he let it go…
And when she claimed, “Every one should respect the law?” Honestly? Why didn’t he ask when she was going to start doing so?
But the worst was his unanswered charge of disrespecting women! He’s got horn dog Bill setting there, love ick on Monica’s dress, a couple of rape claims, Hillary trying to discredit his female accusers….and he let the rebuttal pass out of respect for Chelsea?? Come on, she’s a grown woman and more familiar with her family’s failings than any of us!
No Bhengazi, so Syrian refugees, no nothing.
She appeared calm as she could be as he lost control minute by minute.
He could have mopped the floor with her but left with a bucket full of missed opportunities.

    • Kerouac says:

While I don’t disagree with what you saw PW, attribute a kinder, gentler Trump to his handlers (if anyone can) guidance.

That so many different polls indicate he in fact won the debate, despite being less an attack dog & more measured, seems to suggest da**ed if he does, da**ed if he doesn’t; no one can make all the people happy all the time, if ever.

‘The Ice Man Commeth’… for all of us… in just 41 days November 8.

      • Nick says:

My take on those who give (and I do mean give) last night to Trump? Here’s (roughly) their standard of acceptance:

“Trump was completely unprepared and lacked any relevant knowledge or temperament for the position, as he vociferously demonstrated for the entirety of his campaign. But Clinton seemed smug. Let’s call it even.”

      • paulwilsonkc says:

I agree, I just think he missed 6-8 TKO’s. (Superfluous sports analogy thrown in to make me seem relevant)

        • Nick says:

Not superfluous at all, and it buttresses my point: Trump missed those possible knockdowns exactly because he’s unqualified for the job.

Even had Trump “won” last night’s debate “on points”, or by K.O., I would still prefer an unconscious Clinton over a perpetually punch drunk Trump.

          No contest.

          • Frank says:

What about a coked up Trump? A coked up Trump will ensure that everything’s all white with the world

          • Nick says:

Amusing as it is to picture Trump snorting lines off a marble counter in his solid gold appointed lavatory (with that thing that passes for his hair hanging down and all awry), that’s an outcome that would best be flushed before it stunk up the world…

    • no you left a bucket full of opportunities!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
that house you wrote about to put that single white woman and her son:
how dare any agent do that to that woman. The house was a flop house.
11k….that’s a bucket full of sh*t that any man would want to put has no
      sense of decency!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You don’t know politics…and Harley continues to prove it.
trump has 3 more hours of time to get his a$$ kicked on the issues
      byhillary.
I have received data this morning that the dumpsters disgraceful performance was worse than expected as far as polling is indicating.
The numbers won’t be seen until probably the end of the week or the
first of next week but it’s coming pauly!
And again…I’ll put up10K against anyone on this election straight up.
And not one of you yellow bellied big talkers are taking Harley up on
      his bet.
WHY? as they said in the old westerns YOU’RE YELOOW BELLIED!
3 MORE HOURS FOR AMERICA TO HEAR WHAT CLINTON DIDN’T
      BRING UP LAST NIGHT!!!!!!!!
BUT SHE WILL IN THE NEXT DEBATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IT’S A SHOCKER
THAT WILL BLOW THIS EELECTION UP………
I am receiving emails from across the nation asking for my final
picks. I will make them public on October 9, 2016.
But I know the winner will be Hillary!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And any of you old boys with some cash to show some backbone
      bring it on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  10. Kerouac says:

We have our battles and wars KCC politics as sports, former being one debate or game compared latter’s all the marbles. As such, Kerouac has correctly predicted going on 47 years now the Chiefs will remain losers (have been/are/will continue be) – ditto Royals 2016 and same as predicted 2014 when the GIANTS kicked their backsides, WS.

Even 2015 KC wasn’t baseball’s best, the only luckier – in the battle of ‘frauds’ modern sport, ‘every team is’ – ditto politics Trump/Clinton (two liars no waiting, choice caught ‘tween a rock and hard place.) Tho all modern sports as politicians be fraudulent, some of them are less so if even an bit, splitting hairs (GIANTS 3 Championships 6 years for example, somewhat more weight/merit than 1 in 3 example, KC… if you haven’t heard, royals are already cooked, 2016.)

A dead heat some’s opine or ahead by a neck others, no tortoise and hare race for dibs the big White House on Pennsylvania Avenue, Kerouac’s prediction: TRUMP wins the election 50.2% to Clinton’s 43.7%, scraps the rest 6.1% (thought I was wrong once but then post season arrived & with (or not even in) it, KC’s best departed… per the usual.

    πŸ™‚

    • kerowacky….lets bet on this one. Know money is tight for you so
the loser never posts on kcc again. I’ll take Hillary and over
      300 electoral votes…you get trump.
      fair enough?
Same goes for glaze/wislon/southern man/ sorry hearne you own
      the joint.

      • Kerouac says:

        Love it when they ‘beg’

It, as my friend comfortable underfoot an old pair of shoes, the realization he’ll no longer be here, sad… will get used to it.

        :- (

    • Shawnster says:

Hey whack-jack, your 47 years of correctly predicting the Chiefs will not win the Superbowl (not to mention your weekly misses on actual football games) has been surpassed by my 50+ plus years of predicting that the world will not end today. Every single day…365 days a year…I continue to bat a 1000. As Ricky Bobby so eloquently stated “If you ain’t first, your last.”

  11. Frank says:

I think the headline was supposed to be Trump out-blows Hillary.

  12. Jim a.k.a. BWH says:

Call Sean Hannity!! He’ll tell you who won! nobody will call him!! He’ll tell you, I swear!! This is “presidential”? Wow.

What a complete clown the Man-of-Orange is. Wow. No wonder half the country thinks we are going in the wrong direction. Half the country thinks this carnival barker/reality stooge/fraud is actually capable of being POTUS. Bible-thumping simpletons. Good goddess.

If Clinton refused to release her tax returns: GOP Freakout! What’s she hiding?!
If Clinton was married 3 times with 5 kids by 3 different men: GOP Freakout! Whore!

The alleged party of family values and fiscal responsibility has completely sold-out because the orangutan in a suit happen to run for the red-team. Ironically, Trump could have run as a Dem and won the nomination. Were that the case, the GOP would have ripped him apart for the very same things they now claim don’t matter.

Hypocritical tears from the alt-right taste delicious.

  13. Goose13 says:

It doesn’t matter who was right. I think people are looking at how they act. Trump took control of the debate. Hillary did not. I think people will vote for him for that. He came out looking strong, dominate. He is a dominate strong person. That is what people want for this country. We have not had that in a mighty long time. Hillary is not that person. Heck, I think Bill wants Hillary to lose. He wants to be the only president in the family! People need to stop fact checking politicians during elections season. They lie, have lied for centuries, and will continue to lie. If people are shocked that politicians told something that wasn’t true, then you are a damn fool.
I am not happy with either one of them, but I will take a strong and dominate Trump. Hillary couldn’t even control her husband, how can she control the North Korea, Iran, China or Russia?

  14. Libertarian says:

I watched to see who would fling poo first.

It took a few minutes, but Hillary threw it first.

  15. Sarah Palin ain’t an ugly people. Get a load of Nailin’ Palin sometime for proof.

Devoted democrat Paul Newman once said that we should try to get the rules straight before beginning the knife fight. Are you saying he was so wrong?

Finally, I don’t have the Face Book. Great tip, though, if I ever wanna try to reconnect in some of those old broads from high school.
