Too few remember how big a star John Belushi was back in the day…
His Saturday Night Live skits and hit movies like Animal House made him a household name in the 1980’s. Unfortunately Belushi died of a drug overdose way too young.
His younger brother Jim Belushi emerged shortly thereafter in movies like Thief with James Caan. Few expected Jim to become as big or bigger than his older famous brother. However in time that’s kinda what happened. The younger Belushi became a movie comedy sidekick to stars like Arnold Schwarzenegger in Red Heat and later a leading man in movie after movie. Jim later hit it huge with his nine year television series, According to Jim.
The same thing is starting to happen today with Kevin Farley.
Kevin is the younger brother of comedy superstar Chris Farley who also died too young via drug and alcohol problems.
Several years ago Kevin Farley entered the scene in film and TV parts – including the memorable Curb Your Enthusiasm with Larry David.
Kevin also directed and starred in I Am Chris Farley with a cast of top comedy and film stars who adored his brother Chris.
Kevin Farley started doing standup a few years back and has developed his own style and unique talent. Kevin has a new hit comedy tv series, Still The King with Billy Ray Cyrus. Cyrus plays an Elvis Impersonator with Kevin his probation officer.
Its a strange dynamic to see an older famous brother replaced by the younger, but obviously talent runs in the family.
Kevin Farley makes his second trip to Kansas City and Stanford’s this week.
You can see him live on stage tonight.
He has his own style of comedy and is on fire. A good guy with a big heart and plenty of talent. It does run in the family.

Easy Jack everyone knows Glazer is a tight ass and only thinks of himself and has made a living trying to suck off everyone else. If the guy was so great he’d have his own website to promote his jibberish on. But at least HC won’t post all of the Wildmans crazy crap like Tony/TKC does. Haters like Jack and a couple others. If I wanted to I would do more stories on the comics and stars who come to my club. I rarely do it on KCC unless its of some strong interest or unique like Farley or TJ was…if I wanted as we used to do, Hearne could do an ad on the site, but I don’t.
Try commenting on the articles and not your unwarranted hate for a guy you don’t know, me. I write about everything. Mostly entertainment, world events and sports. My past often crosses into those areas so there you go troll.
I am in our media cause I have done a few things in my life that enter these areas, simple as that. The more you do, the more you gain trolls and hateful people. I never write to attack such people unless they attack me. Lately I haven’t even done that much, what for….you can’t argue with these types. They hate for no reason at all…on anyone and everyone that they despise for almost no real reason other than they are just in the media and controversial at times.
Jason Whitlock is a good example of someone who I feel has done a great job of continuing to be in the media..he’s got a national sports show on Fox now and hey good for him. He’s earned it.
As for Farley its an obvious example of two brothers who had similar things happen following the death of the older famous one. That’s all. Kevin is a good guy, did a great job and we hope to have him back next year. Simple as that. How you make that into an issue brother. Course we had the Ali movie issue a few weeks back. Same thing. It will never end and nothing I can do about it.
Sometimes you wish you could just be on a beach somewhere taking in the sun and enjoying your later years…that would be nice. In the meantime have a great week.

John Belushi is a legend. Jim Belushi, is not. Not baggin on Jim at all, I thought he was friggin’s hilarious. His opening scene in “About Last Night…” still puts me in stitches. But John Belushi in “Animal House” alone is pure gold. Not to mention his work on Saturday Night Live was downright brilliant. Oh and let’s not forget the whole Blues Brothers thing. Not only a legendary hit movie, but he and Akroyd turned it into a platinum selling recording success and took the act on the road to sold out venues. Sorry Craig, but Jim isn’t a gnat on his brother’s ass.

I have no opinion on Kevin. Didn’t even mention him in my post. Mine was a commentary on John B. vs Jim B.’s legacy. It’s not even close. And hey like I said, I like Jim! He’s had a damn fine career.

Jim was nowhere near his brothers talent and johns role in animal
house as absolutely one of the best comedy acts ever.
By the way…you all did know they wanted to film Animal House
in Columbia, Missouri but the higher ups said no since it was
a r rated movie.
Hope you packed the house with Farley glaza…don’t want to see any
more biz go down in joco.
