Glazer: Looking Like KU (Not MU’s) Year

maxresdefaultKansas is the No. 1 seed of the top four seeds in this year’s NCAA tourney…

KU won its 12th conference title for the Big 12 and in what has become somewhat rare, won the Big 12 Championship tourney here in Kansas City this past weekend.

KU coach Bill Self has generally not made the tournament in KC a must but the Jayhawks are so good they cruised to the title anyway.

In a season that looked like it might be off one, with Kansas seemingly lacking energy and desire early on, boy did they turn this into a season to remember.

With a 30 win regular season and a team that has several stars, most feel they will land in the Final Four.

Kansas fans are used to being a No. 1 seed, however this year’s title appears to be up for grabs with no real favorite.

KU clearly changed its battle cry with the way it finished the season. Led by senior Perry Ellis and his 16.7 PPG and the emergence of super star guard Devonte Graham, look out.

Eight years ago Self won it all -could this be his second national title?

1457546000050While some feel Michigan State, who beat KU early, has the top player in the country, it’s Kansas that has the complete team.

Wayne Seldon Jr. has come on to be a monster and Landen Lucas has joined the three point brigade as a sharp shooter.

It’s all there in front of Kansas just waiting to unfold.

While KU is clearly the best team in the nation, it always takes luck and timing to make it to the Final Four and win it all.

What a sports year for Kansas City. How great would it be to have KU in the Final Four and even greater to win it all.

Wow. You might want to watch a game or two before cranking out this crap. What is the point of this article? KU is good at basketball and favored to win it all? Thanks for the update, Coach Wooden.

    THE WORLD ACCORDING TO GLAZA:
    the sun will shine
    the earth will rotate
    babies will cry
    people will go to sleep
AND KU HAS A GOOD BASKETBALL TEAM.

such a genius/such an incredible mind/such a brain this man has.
Hearne….reprint the obituaries from the Star and you’ll have a more
intelligent/reader friendly/and magnificent article than this one.
    zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz….we all know this…..
Maybe get your daughters to write about Selena Gomez. At least it
would give us more info than this one does~!

  5. CG says:

Again it was just time to acknowledge KU having a great year and hopefully a nice run in the March Dance. Simple.

  6. CG says:

I never mentioned MU in my story. Hearne did in his headline. Clearly MU has fallen backwards this year with its once solid football program. Basketball fell a few years back. I love MU, my folks went there. Of our local teams only KU has won a national title…EVER. So thats just the facts jack. MU football was really on the rise in the SEC but went off the track. I hope MU gets it going again, I’m sure in time they will.

Johnson County Community College has won 10 national championships in various sports since 2000.

Kansas City Kansas Community College won something like 11 straight national debate titles in the 2000s.

So…technically, we do have other local schools with national titles.
