Glazer: Donald Trump Married to the Mob? Nah

trumpHere come the mob stories involving Donald Trump

It’s a fact that mob connected Robert LiButti was a regular at Trump’s Atlantic City casino some 25 plus years ago. Libutti was involved with mob boss John Gatti, according to the feds. Libutti was later banned from Atlantic City casinos, including Trump’s. And Trump’s casino was later fined $200,000 for allowing Litutti to gamble there.

However Trump was never directly involved in any criminal investigation.

Trump’s take: “I don’t know who he is. I wouldn’t recognize the guy if he stood right in front of me.”

However, Litbutti’s daughter says they were often guests of Trumps, flown to the hotel on the Trump helicopter and that Trump and her dad were friends and she even met his wife and children back then.

Hey, it’s tough to be a big time casino owner and not be involved with some of the big time gamblers who are often of questionable backgrounds. I’m sure there were many more, that’s just the way that business has always been.

What is of concern is that Trump will just lie at the drop of a hat about anything that he did in the past that’s not going to help him gain the Republican nomination for president. Maybe he’d be better served to say, yes, I knew him, but I wasn’t involved with his affairs. He was just a high roller at our casinos and we should have been more careful as to not get fined for allowing his presence after he was banned. Instead he plays dumb. Not the first time.

While Trump is clearly the popular guy in the race and this old story won’t likely do him in, it’s another chink in his armor. You know the old line, “Behind every fortune there is a crime.”

Well, maybe not if it was handed to you.

I’m a guy who thinks Trump is exciting and will shake up Washington.

Maybe for the good. We just don’t know.

It’s just so odd that the two leading candidates Trump and Hillary Clinton have so many issues with wrong doing. Yet one of them is likely our next president.

John F. Kennedy and Frank Sinatra

John F. Kennedy and Frank Sinatra

Wouldn’t be a first though.

John Kennedy – considered by many modern America’s favorite president – had any number of issues. His father was involved in illegal whiskey sales earlier in his life. The feds suspected wrong doing in voting around Chicago that helped Kennedy win a close election over Nixon.

Also Kennedy had ties to mobsters and was told to stop hanging with them and Frank Sinatra. The list goes on. So Donald wouldn’t be the first.

In Trump’s defense, this Libutti affair was years ago and Trump is not considered a connected guy. He just did business with the dude at one of his casinos. And Trump wasn’t alone.

Yet he’s a step away from the White House.

Will things like this and Trump College be accepted by the public?

That would seem to be the case. In general, super rich and powerful people seem to have closets full of secrets.

Hell, I guess we all do – even me!

  1. You need to get out of kc more glaza. You know nothing about the mob.
    you know nothing bout anything.
Did you read my posting that goes back to 1980?
You’re just a big mouth without any facts.
See my post (if hearne will publish it)
To do business in ny you have to be connected to the mob! Poiont blank.
So stfu when it comes to anything and everything you know nothing about!!!!!!!!

  2. Trump extorts the Chinese and Mexicans. Either invest in our projects or you
get no visas. Prettyb simple glaza.
But you don’t get it. Do some research before you let me blow you out of the
    water.
Please consult with Harley before you put up baseless information.
What are we going to do with you glaze. And don’t forget all those atlantic city
casinos took bankruptcy after get government improvement funds that were
never spent on improvements. Hahahahahah….when will you learn glaza.

  3. Also glaza…you don’t know anything about vegas.
How many blacklisted whales were allowed to gamble in vegas ? Plenty. They
wore hats/disguises/etc until the corps took over and the clark county commission
    was cleaned up……..
so if you got a questions and before you make a mistake ask the wizard…harleyl

  4. Frank says:

He’s married to the mob, but he’s having an affair with the Nazis.

  5. Kerouac says:

    CAPTION THAT PIC

President Trump prepares to lop off the head of ISIL (ISIS, IS or whatever you prefer call them), obumacare (the act as well the bad black actor foisted it upon the masses), and illegal immigrants, all in one fell swoop ~ WHOOOSH! ~
    __________

“lie at the drop of a hat”

    – code name Billary, Hitlery, Godzillary… or simply, liar.

Like Kerouac/other coherent types same are gonna believe a mob-connected daughter and daddy’s girl a mob-connected father any more than they do a politician, any them. The realm lying, Trump is a novice compared Hildabeast, Cruz & about 99% the rest.

“it’s tough to be a big time casino owner”

    – or a pro football player of note…

“and not be involved with some of the big time gamblers who are often of questionable backgrounds.”

    – including those found guilty of gambling via their own admission or association real or imagined via media reports and public opinion (sorta like what we are doing here.) Pro football players Paul Hornung and Alex Karras in 1963 (suspended), Joe Namath 1969 (Bachelors III) and Len Dawson (a gambler named Donald ‘Dice’ Dawson days leading up to Superbowl IV in 1970), come to mind.

What can innuendo/suspicion lead to? Beyond admissions that cost Hornung & Karras a year each off their careers, Namath threatened to retire & Dawson* lost about 12 lbs. before playing in the biggest game of his career; he was never charged with anything*.

    * A couple of books ‘Casino’ (also a film) and ‘The Fix is in: The Showbiz Manipulations of the NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL & NASCAR’ presented some interesting possibilities:

Reference gambling/games being fixed, according to F.B.I. records, nearly 20 games of the Kansas City Chiefs during 1966-1968 were the targets of unnatural money & taken off the board in Las Vegas. There was speculation that among those involved were Len Dawson, his teammate Johnny Robinson & even Head Coach Hank Stram. That Kansas City was the central meeting point for most of the Mid-western crime families, another interesting aspect the book referenced.

In those days of yore, Kerouac did not want to believe that the Chiefs underwhelming performances / outcomes their prime years talent-wise 1966-68 were anything more than fate and the bounce of the ball. I am less so believing circa 2015, but as the JFK debate etc., will we ever really know?
    ____________

In much the same way football games can be (have been my opine) fixed over decades, politics too has its own method ‘fixing’ outcomes, removing those (including a President and others in the mix) whose loyalties are ‘at odds’ with those of others. Upshot – if you can’t buy em, eliminate em (which is sobering thought, in terms of Trump’s status.)

‘Making America Great Again’ one state at a time

    President TRUMP 2016

  6. the dude says:

“I’m a guy who thinks Trump is exciting and will shake up Washington.”

Why am I not surprised about this one itty bit?

  7. CG says:

Harley I think I’ve been to Vegas once or twice huh. Even back in the day when the boys ran a couple hotels and casinos, was in prison with some of them…my book talks about a sting I did with actors posing as ‘mobsters’ in Vegas, 80’s ring a bell. Anyways…

Boy the numbers are shrinking they say for Donald. Are the negatives starting to hurt? Will he lose Florida? Michigan? Ohio? I think he wins two of them and that should be enough to finish from here, if not…wow, the Trump train may be in for a rough ride at the convention. Its a movie, a tv show for sure. I’m afraid good old Harley is likely right bout one thing. Hillary.

All this hate and turmoil plus it looking more like she will get out of computer gate, and her vast experience and popularity with minority voters and without Donald being the other ‘guy’ gives her the election. It felt like Trump’s to lose and he may just be doing that if things don’t go well for him asap. We will see.

  8. CFPCowboy says:

Great article. I am not a Trumpeteer or a Clintlock. Outside of his ethics challenges, nothing here is a violation of law, something that can’t be said by other candidates. I think the article is informative, and it represents the reason I do not trust Trump. We tend to judge candidates and political parties based on past experience. If you have seen the commission of felonies, in the past, assuming that they will be repeated by the same unconvicted felons is an earned belief that is deserved.. Great, informative article.

  9. SkepticPolice says:

Bill couldn’t land here today to stump for Hill because of the weather? Sounds a little fishy — it wasn’t THAT bad. Rumors of his illness true?

    • skeptic…I was at that rally to meet the president. It was a small ralley
      in a small room….
we watched the flight path on flightaware and the plane was coming from
Chicago and we know how crazy the weather isthere.
The storms were much worse north of kc and because of that they
decdied not to take a chance. Plus they were running quitelate because
of the weather. He wasdue at 1:45 and as of 2:30 because of weather
he was still 30 miles outside kc. Include time to travel via escort to the
stadium area…..and it probably would have been 3-4pm before he spoke.
The final decisionwas to go to their next stop which I think was
st. kouis……he will be back. Don’t worry.

  10. chuck says:

Here is an excellent article on Trump by one of his supporters.

I think he makes some good points.

    http://nypost.com/2016/03/05/why-i-support-trump-and-resent-the-elites-trying-to-destroy-him/

    • Stomper says:

This was an excellent piece, Chuck and thanks for sharing it. You can really feel this guy’s pain and undoubtedly it is shared by a “YUGE’ number of Republicans.

Several statements he made hit the nail on the head and need to be paid attention to by the leadership of the GOP. Statements like a GOP controlled by “fanatical libertarian economics” and “religiously driven positions”. “believed in free market and capitalism but did not fetishize them the way so many libertarians do”. “I do not care that Donald Trump is in favor of big government”. I hope Priebus and his successor are paying attention. As a Democrat, I want a Republican Party that believes in and advocates for the free market and capitalism but is willing to negotiate, compromise, and find common ground to advance not only their agenda, but the nation’s agenda. What is especially depressing to me about the current state of politics is that so many on the right think that government is always the enemy, end of story. David Brooks, whom I consider to be one of the more pragmatic Republican pundits said it quite well, imho. “Government should be limited, but energetic”. There are definitely places that government should not be, but there are also places that government definitely should be.

      • What this sucker friend of Chuckles is saying is that
“we voted for these repugs…they kept coming back with the
same b.s. and absolutely no plans or programs to improve
the country. Their only goal was to stop a black man who
beat them twice and in the end they destroyed the nation
        while watching jobs/the economy/budgets etc. get f*****
up. So now we listened to them scare us with abortions…
gay marriage….guns…..and other things which affected almost
none of us and then they stuck it to us. But we’re smarter
now. We got our man. A Nazi loud mouth liar and cheater
who will never walk thruthe doors of the white house ever
        again….and we’re doing it to prove a point…..that America
is only for white European old men who are dying off
and the minorities are becoming the majorities in America
and will call the shots within 10 years. Heil!

  11. Orphan of the Road says:

You could ask Harry the Hump or the Chicken Man about Trump and the mob. Except they’re dead.

When the casinos were voted in, the sleepy, little union of bartenders and waitresses became very important. And it ignited a bitter conflict between the NY and Philadelphia mob.

Boardwalk Empire could have gone on until the end of the century. You didn’t do business in Atlantic City without doing business with the mob.

The man who controlled AC demolition could not read nor write. Handed his checkbook to the salesman at the Lincoln dealer when he bought a new car. And called out the mayor (soon to begin serving time) for money owed to his company as the mayor walked out of the XXX movie on the Boardwalk.

George Anastasia penned a number of books and a PBS series on the mob in Philadelphia and NY.

But then I guess Trump was too busy being fleeced by Merv Griffin selling him Resorts International.

Trump’s just in the race to make Cruz seem sane.

  12. CG says:

Chuck and gang I think its over.Trump not only held up he won big last night. If he takes Florida and he likely will, that should about end it. I just wrote about it for todays story latter on….he now seems unstoppable. In fact it looks like Hillary will battle uphill to beat him in November. The man is on fire.

  13. Kerouac says:

Better than Meatloaf – 3 out of 4 ain’t bad – Filet Mignon! And aft the fat lady sings both Florida and Ohio, it’s on to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue in a landslide over the hildabeast! Keep it up media, pundits & politicos variously: keep trying to sway the public with your ineffectual slants: nod the DI, electorate says “we can’t hear you!”

    President TRUMP 2016!

    heh heh heh heh heh
