Glazer: This Week’s Playoff Picks!

1.bart-starrI’ve backed New England QB Tom Brady for the past year…

He’s without question the best quarterback of the Super Bowl Era. I think Denver’s Peyton Manning is great. However he just isn’t the same old Peyton. Time and injuries have brought his career to the end that will come today.

Hey, its great we have Brady/Manning one more time.

We’ve heard all about the Denver defense and how smart Manning is with running the Bronco running game. However, I saw a very good Chiefs defense get run over by Brady and company. And with his three boys back, there’s no stopping him. Brady’s release is just too quick.

The Patriots go to the Super Bowl again.

Number 7 for Tom Brady. I look for the Cam Newton led Panthers to defeat Arizona.

superbowliCam is the future of elite NFL quarterbacks. He just wills his way to a win!

So Super Bowl 50 is according to me, PATRIOTS VS. PANTHERS…PICK ‘EM.

And to think, our Chiefs started all this 50 years ago. Damn. I think looking at the Pats in the KC game showed how tough Tom Brady is with his three receivers on board. Manning just can’t throw well enough to keep up. I look for a fairly close game. 28-13 Pats.

PICKS

TEASE PATS OVER BRONCOS +3 and PANTHERS OVER ARIZONA + 3…

ENJOY THE GAMES!

NICE photos Hearne. Boy half a century ago the Chiefs were the first team to go from the then AFL, AFC. We were little kids. I was already what was then rare, a Huge Chiefs fan. My dad used to take us kids to the games back then. I remember going to school that week and almost nobody was that fired up about the first Super Bowl. The NFL was still not up with MLB. Football was about as big as ESPN its first couple seasons.

Now look at it. The NFL has risen about movies, anything on tv, music it is THE entertainment ‘thing’ of America. How long will that be the case? No telling. Hey rock n roll died so you can’t say anything lasts forever….or even as long as it seems it will. Now if social media could just cool off…hah.

    • Furioso says:

Right now the NFL is raking in the bucks and I’m starting to hate them lol. I guess the Rams were destined to flee St. Louie once Kroenke took over. That’s a loss for all the huge NFL fans in the midwest. Oakland will probably stay and the Jags and San Diego are destined to move before this decade is out. I think eventually there will be a backlash by the fans but maybe the NFL is invincible idk.

      Donkeys over Pats 35-20
      Panthers DESTROY Cards 45-13

      • CG says:

Hey gang, if I pull off both games today it will be an undefeated playoff run of picks. Nice. Wish I’d have been in Vegas for all that. Oh well.

      • Furioso says:

Welp I predicted the Broncos would win but it was def closer than I thought it would be.

My CAR over Cards 45-13 prediction was pretty close to the real 49-15 heck of a game wasn’t it?

Manning was pretty sneaky by sitting most of December wasn’t he? I was rooting for him over Brady I just couldnt’ tolerate another Pats Super Bowl and now if the Panthers destroy the Donkeys and Manning I’ll be happy until Sep.

    • I just counted at least 5 of the worst mistakes in glaze’s article.
      And you keep printing it…
This is a joke. If K isn’t proving gramps wrong…Harley is.
Move this guy away from sports.
When he writes about hookers/hos/strippers and now
his Ashley Madison account he is spot on.
Do whatever…but don’t let glaze do another story on sports.
By the way as further proof of Harleys greatness….just this morning
it was announced that democrat castro from san Antonio
is the heavy favorite for Hillary’s vice president.
If she picks him….you grey hairs can plan on hitting the bed
at about 9pm election night crying and kicking your fox news tv coverage because 2016 race will be over. Remeember
Harley wrote about this last AUGUST…and putting castro on the ticket
gives dems probably 80% plus of Hispanic vote and every pndit knows
without at least 42-45% of the Hispanic vote….repubs can tell
trump/cruz/walker (already gone) and even beck its already over
      without the Hispanic vote.
So again…Harley shows his brilliance and ability to analyze situations
      is flawless.
thanks…..more to come on your friend Trump soon. The storm against
trump is about to start. So how about his mob connections….the banks
he almost took down…the investors who lost billions…his phony
      deferments…..his phony background.
He’s called the media every disgusting word known to be said on tv…
they’re going to rip him a new ***hole!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • Kerouac says:

      “NICE photos Hearne.”

      – agreed… the best QB in football history, Bart Starr, prepares to eviscerate the Chiefs/every team as no QB before or since him has been as capable of…

“I remember going to school that week and almost nobody was that fired up about the first Super Bowl. The NFL was still not up with MLB. Football was about as big as ESPN its first couple seasons.”

      – it was just the opposite for Kerouac/His fellow Chiefs fans. For the record, according most research, pro football ‘passed’ MLB as ‘America’s Past time’ about 1965, and by 1969 it left baseball in the rear view mirror…

“Now look at it. The NFL has risen about movies, anything on tv, music it is THE entertainment ‘thing’ of America. How long will that be the case?”

      – Rome fell in a day, moreso mere hours aft a long run at the top… as dynasties / empires others go, so too will football’s reign pass…

Speaking of things that died, are the swiss playing today?

      No?

      OK.

      @ BRONCOS / Manning 9,559
      patri-cheats / brady-cheat .441

      🙂

    • miket says:

rock and roll died? guess i missed the headline, funeral, everything.

  2. Kerouac says:

Kerouac proclaimed it, and so it was…

    @ BRONCOS / Manning 20
    patri-cheats/brady-cheat 18

Peyton Manning now 3-1 vs brady-cheat all-time in Championship Games…

    ‘The Greatest’?

    heh heh heh heh heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeh!!!

    🙂

  3. CG says:

Wow great game. Sad to see Tom go down. Went down to the last play. Manning played well enough to win. His defense was just great. Shows us what the number one defense looks like. We couldn’t stop Brady they did. Manning had moments of great throws…so did Tom. But hey Peyton’s got something left in him. Hell he’s going to his 4th Super Bowl what a way to end a career, if he retires and he should. Win or lose Super Bowl. Two great quarterbacks. A fantastic game. I won first half of the tease so if Panthers cover we go perfect on playoff picks…lucky I didn’t fly to Vegas and bet Pats…yikes.

  4. Kerouac says:

    Lots of noise, right CG?

    Well let’s see now…

Reiterating, both regular season and post, stats are one measure wherein Brady-cheat is bested by several other QB’s earlier era as well modern. QB winning % all-time post as well regular season, is another: fact is, Brady isn’t ‘best ever’ in anything.

    Regular season, top 5 all-time:

    1) Graham .810
    2) Lamonica .784
    3) Brady .771
    4) Staubach .746
    5) Montana .713
    _______

    Post season, top 5 all-time:

    1) Starr .900
    2) Luckman .833
    ” Dilfer .833
    4) Unitas .750
    ” Theismann .750
6 Rypien .714 (Rypien? Yup, that guy… Mark Rypien)

Brady-cheat loses yet again today & now ranks only 7th at .710, this despite the fact he has played in more post season games than any QB in pro football history… that he has not won as many % wise PROVES the ‘he is best ever’ argument pled by those simple-minded types holds no water… they know who they are.
    ______

Conclusion: Brady is not ‘the best’ statistically or winning percentage – affirming that modern day ‘overhype’ media, players and fanDUMB does not concern itself with the ‘facts’.

GO BRONCOS – AFC CHAMPIONS and soon to be ‘WORLD CHAMPIONS’.

And GO MANNING! – who proves yet again he is better than brady-cheat.

  5. Kerouac says:

All-time Superbowl QB’s by winning percentage

    1 Bart Starr .1000

    ” Terry Bradshaw .1000

    ” Joe Montana .1000

    ” Troy Aikman .1000

    ” Jim Plunkett .1000

    ” Eli Manning .1000

    7 Bob Griese .667

    ” Ben Roethlisberger .667

    ” tom brady-cheat .667

    🙂

    • Guy Who Says What Others Think says:

Well hell man, for that matter Trent facking Dilfer is batting 1.000 in the Superbowl.

      • Kerouac says:

Affirming brady-cheat is nothing special at all… the only question remains: who is the bigger crybaby – brady-cheat, or alice smith? Both belong in the TFL (touch football league)

        🙂

    • CG says:

K why are you so obsessed with putting down Tom Brady. K he is by almost all experts considered THE guy of the Super Bowl era. Yes Montana, Starr, Manning all matter. Alot. But 6 Super Bowls in an 11 year now 13 career says it all. HE LIVED THERE. Nobody else did. He won 4, and played well enough to win 6. So you got to let it go K. OK you don’t like him. He’s a cheater, yeah right. All that. He lost yesterday. He did. You and I will not live to see anyone go to six Super Bowls unless its Cam Newton who gets number one this year. He would be in his early 30’s and have to go almost yearly to do it. Tom went early in his career to number one. Cam is in year what 4/5 now…means he needs to go almost yearly to get 6 or 7. Not likely, health, trades, injury, personal issues all that. Brady is amazing so is Manning. Both are top 4 or 5 ever. Ever. So let it go K.

      • Kerouac says:

        “K”

        – yes CG, what is it now?

“why are you so obsessed with putting down Tom Brady.”

        – when did stating the facts – stats and Championship Game(s) success (or lack thereof) – become a put down?

        “K”

        – yes, still here, go on…

“he is by almost all experts considered THE guy of the Super Bowl era.”

        – based on subjective bias, style points… which validates nothing other than one’s own preference.

” Yes Montana, Starr, Manning all matter. Alot.”

        – and both Starr and Montana were ‘better’ than brady-cheat in Superbowl’s – each perfect – while Manning has won one and will have a chance to win a second his 4th appearance. Compared to brady-cheat’s 2 Superbowl losses already he doesn’t merit being included in the conversation ‘best ever’… am I typing too fast for you/the other brady-cheat ball-huggers to follow the logic?

“But 6 Super Bowls in an 11 year now 13 career says it all.”

        – Starr’s 6 ‘Superbowl’s in 8 years talks louder… if winning 5-1 compared brady-cheat’s 4-2 is good enough for Einstein’s et al, who can claim otherwise? No one.

“HE LIVED THERE. Nobody else did.”

        – refer to last paragraph; let the numbers sink in, CG…

“He won 4, and played well enough to win 6.”

        – Starr won 5, and played well enough to win 6…

“So you got to let it go K.”

        – what the NFL told him re: playing with his doctored balls…

        “OK you don’t like him.”

        – correction: Kerouac doesn’t r-e-s-p-e-c-t him or the Patri-cheats/Beli-cheat et al. They are unscrupulous, classless and pretenders in a 21st century football/sports world which has lost all relevance stats, Championships and the like…

“He’s a cheater, yeah right. All that.”

        – good, we’ve consensus…

“He lost yesterday. He did. You and I will not live to see anyone go to six Super Bowls unless its Cam Newton who gets number one this year.”

        – Kerouac looks forward to watching the latest hotdog and prima dona newton end where they all do… beaten (see the swiss their like showboaters travass kelce, justine houston, jemima charles, toast peters, eric dinkle-berry et al. Notice a trend here? Of the six named, 5 are swiss & all save one of the same ilk… some cry racist, Kerouac tells it like it is and says, ‘prove me wrong’…

“He would be in his early 30’s and have to go almost yearly to do it. Tom went early in his career to number one. Cam is in year what 4/5 now…means he needs to go almost yearly to get 6 or 7. Not likely, health, trades, injury, personal issues all that.”

        – if he never appears in another Superbowl it will be too soon for Kerouac… while he’s preparing his ‘dabbing’ nonsense, Peyton & the boys are gonna go ‘yabba dabba do!’ all over the panthers…

“Brady is amazing so is Manning. Both are top 4 or 5 ever. Ever.”

        – in each QB’s prime, Kerouac will take Manning every time… if one put each on the other’s teams through the years, judgment mine would be Manning would’ve won more Championships and brady-cheat fewer.

That however that would be subjective opinion – precisely what you/others use as evidence when, despite facts (Championships won/Starr) and stats (many other QB’S having better numbers) – those who claim brady-cheat is better/’the best ever’. Simply, said is just not true by any reasonable and logical measure.

Facts, brady-cheat isn’t great as Starr winning Championships, be it total number won or winning percentage wise, nor is he as great several other QB’s via his stats. All the world’s ‘yeah buts’, ‘if only’s’ & ‘woulda coulda shouldas’ cannot change those facts.

        “So let it go K.”

        – you’re so cute when you get exasperated, CG. Kerouac looks forward responding your next post re: the soon to be ‘WORLD CHAMPION’ BRONCOS & the panthers (latter as patri-cheats installed as favorites, but will, my opine, also come a cropper.)

        🙂

  6. Jack Springer says:

Find a sport you actually something about . . . . like the ballet.

  7. CG says:

Denver applied the Kansas City style against Pats. They just did it better. Our defense wasn’t fast enough like Von Miller around the ned to get to Tom. Manning played the role of Alex Smith, don’t turn it over and play it safe. Get a lead and let the D take over the game. It worked for them, not us. I don’t think any AFC team can handle Cam. I doubt many do.

  8. There is a rumor that Obama is going to pardon Brady at half-time.
