It’s for women to cut off their guys from having sex with them.
In other words, a sex strike by the gals to force their significant others to abstain from black-on-black crime and gang violence in Chicago.

All of which is presented to the theater audience by ringmaster-of-sorts, Samuel L. Jackson.
When it came to casting CHI-RAQ, Lee DID Do The Right Thing here by calling on the talents of Nick Cannon, Wesley Snipes, Teyonah Paris, D.B. Sweeney, Angela Bassett and Jennifer Hudson among others.
Hudson plays the role of a grieving young mother whose 11 year old daughter was killed during a drive-by shooting. And John Cusack plays a passionate priest giving one hell of a sermon at the young girl’s funeral.

In the form of KU professor and filmmaker Kevin Willmott who co-wrote the screenplay with Spike Lee and earned co-executive producer credits for the movie.
