Glazer: Are the Chiefs Back from The Dead? Plus Pigskin Picks

Zombie-The-Walking-DeadCan the Chiefs get back into the wild card race Sunday with a win at Denver?

On paper yes, but not likely.

Our boys are 3-5 with wins over two bad teams – Houston and Detroit – and one wounded team, the Steelers. Yes, they’ve won two in a row. However now they’re on the road to Denver where they never beat Peyton Manning and the Broncos. In fact they haven’t beaten the Broncos since Manning took over.

Yes, the Chiefs have been better as of late, but it’s hard to measure how much better given who they defeated. The Chiefs offense was all but nonexistant until they ran over Detroit in London last week. However Detroit has only one win this season.

Losing Jamaal Charles may have in a strange way have helped KC’s offense in that QB Alex Smith has been forced to use other weapons more often. That includes him running the ball which is one of the things he does best.

Denver suffered its first loss at Indy last week and are now 7-1 but they’ve all but locked up the division. The Oakland Raiders are much improved and seem headed for a wild card spot. The AFC is so upside down that teams like KC are still in this thing with only three wins.

If KC loses this week at Denver they pretty much have sealed their fate.

Only three teams have made the playoffs since 1995 with six losses.

I think the Chiefs will play it close but lose at Denver. The Broncos just have our number and Manning will be looking to bounce back from last weeks loss.

wolfe-1Like I said, it looks as if our area college teams are not going make any bowl games.

You need six wins to get into a low level bowl. MU and K-State could still get there with a couple wins, but both have been losing every week and show little chance to win more than maybe one more. So for the first time in years no area school will have a holiday bowl game. KU of course is long gone.

COLLEGE

ALABAMA -1 in a tease over Miss State with OKLAHOMA STATE -8 OVER Iowa State

PROS

NEW ENGLAND -1 OVER THE GIANTS TEASE WITH CAROLINA +1 over Tenn.

Green Bay – 5 over DETROIT tease with DENVER +1 over KC.

I liken the recent nervous laughter with regard to the blah blah blah Cheese blah blah blah horseshit but illiterate Glazer and racist Chuck seem to like it, so does Wislun. Maybe because I’m the only one left who isn’t Harley. Life is great see you next time past participle

I don’t have a single clue what you were trying to express with nervous laughter, blah, cheese, horseshit, blah, blah and adding I like it to. The illiterate Glazer part I understood, but I’d like to know what you think I like so I’ll know if I like it or not.
You also said you’re the only one that’s not Harley, and I must correct you. Harley’s not even Harley.
Now, you must excuse me, a car hauler dropped off my newest black Benz play toy (not racist) so I’m going out to the garage to dust it off and take it to coffee!

        Thanks for the kind words.

          paulwilsonkc and CG…

If either you (anyone, that matter) considered for more than, oh – the time it took to read less than half the first sentence self-flagellation ‘kerowacky’ (aka, Harley har-har) said bore (double entendre) narrative resemblance any Kerouac, that venerable ‘bridge for sale in Brooklyn’ comes to mind, imitation ‘not’ being the sincerest form of flattery, every case.

harley har-har: ‘as’ compared ‘if’ you’re going through the personal Hell known ‘being you’, some free advise – DON’T keep going: Humphry’s ‘Final exit’ the solution you have been pursuing, unsuccessfully, to date… eat (and especially) drink, if be merry & Harley, no more.

          🙂

As for the swiss chiefs this week’s version theirs Hell, be a tale of suspension Denver’s & injury both sides… of yet another season ended too early for some: Talib & Clady as well Sambrillo aft among other; swiss side, Charles & DeVito et al. No Ware DEN & no Bailey KC Sunday – no matter – it never does:

The swiss did actually beat Manning once: more than 11 years ago, October 2004…even then allowed him put up 35 points so they’ve never really stopped him even once in 15 career games..

14-1 vs KC lifetime, 10-0 of late & 8-0 since becoming a Bronco… oy. swiss couldn’t beat him ‘home of the Chiefs’ earlier this year, despite his relic nor despite everything imaginable going KC’s way… till the very end – nod same epitaph theirs every – another loss.

So much for ‘odds are, things have to change’; why will it be any different Sunday.

            – hadn’t noticed…

            “…….but”

            – yes?

“none are as smart as I am.”

            – ‘ventose’… there, fixed.

            “but”

            – stop groveling…

“you were wrong on chiefs…and so ws glaze. great win this weekend for mizzou and chiefs…. and for all the royals who won golden gloves !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

            – Kerouac is never wrong, only misunderstood… Synopsis: Broncos will be in the playoffs per the usual, the swiss will not per theirs.

DEN had two td scoring drives to KC’s but 1 the game (the other fluke blown coverage, does not qualify.) Difference – i.e, ‘the kicker’ as ’twere – another unimpressive effort the swiss: 6 failed tries cross the plane goal line, but 5 fgs result.

An injured Manning (said a fact that Kerouac was unaware of pre-pick) had to be removed due inability escape pressure or pass the ball effectively.

No credit due the swiss: had Broncos backup QB entered the game sooner, he would’ve likely won the game for them. Osweiler put up more points in a single quarter than KC did in any their four.

As mediocre Royals same, this year once again a matter ‘wait till next year’ KC sports teams et al: always and ever more, but asterisks galore…

ATTENTION the entire internet has to be in love with Craig Glazer.

  5. Furioso says:

Once again I have to present my theory that after KC destroyed the Pats in last years MNF game(late Sep) Andy Reid realized he can’t peak early. We have lost a few games we could/should have won but right now we’re only one game back from being in the wildcard hunt.

Wildcard – As it stands right now:
    1st wildcard: Pittsburgh 6-4
2nd wildcard: Buffalo 5-4 and NY Jets 5-4
    KC 4-5
