Glazer: Reality TV Rules in America & Trump Can Win It All

donald-trump-roastFox News spent all Sunday explaining why Donald Trump can’t win the White House…

“He has no real plan,” Fox railed. “He’s just a reality TV star and billionaire appealing to the 25% of Americans who are unhappy with professional politicians.”

HOWEVER, REALITY TV HAS TAKEN OVER TELEVISION FOLKS AND IT MAY TAKE OVER THE WHITE HOUSE.

Fox News played Trump’s interviews on his helicopter and hIs interviews on his plane. His name was on both. They played his call in interviews to everyone at the national networks … he is now a reality superstar and a news superstar.

Donald Trump is a first,  remember a guy named Ronald Reagan?

Reagan was the only movie star to be elected president, yet was never even as big as Arnold Schwarzenegger who also became the governors of California. Arnold may well have been able to capture the White House as well. Except was he was not born in America and got caught knocking up his maid. Arnold was a superstar actor Reagan was not.

So it could happen.

Trump does say some odd things that you would think – maybe even hope – that he wouldn’t. For example, this morning he was asked, “Where do you get your military information/advice Mister Trump?”

“I get it from watching television programs like yours and other shows like Meet The Pres,” he shot back.

WTF?

Ross-PerotTrump needs to assemble a crack team of advisors right now.

Because even after all his comments, missteps, attacks on everyone, calling the other presidential hopefuls stupid, his numbers grew to plus 25%.

Is he a Ross Perot? No.

Trump has way more charisma and much better speaking ability. Plus he looks the part of billionaire playboy star, Ross was a geek.

So far this election is a reality show.

Kim Kardashian

And I have some experience with that. Reality TV dominates the tube. It attracts both the youngest and also oldest audiences. For example, who in America is better known than Kim Kardashian? She’s right up there with Oprah and Beyonce as household names.

Kim has no talent at all, just her presence as a star, nothing else. Trump has more. A lot more.

The Apprentice, his 10 year hit tv series was a monster. So is his media popularity.

Is it a fad? Will this frenzy fade?

Kim has done porno, posed totally naked, gotten into her mid 30’s and is now bigger than ever. You tell me.

Will America become a reality TV show starring Donald Trump?

Hey, America loves a winner or someone who looks the part. Look at us right here in Kansas City. Five years ago in mid August the Royals often had less than 4,000 fans at the ballpark. Reason: they were last place losers. Today even Monday night games against last place teams sell out. Why? They are winners. Simple as that.

We all want to be with a winner. Enter Donald Trump.

  1. miket. says:

another ‘trump can win it all’ post? come on… this is starting to look like TKC when it’s one post after another about Mike Sanders or someone equally uninteresting.

  2. what? says:

My thought exactly about looking like TKC (what a fine example for little North). My Lord, tell me we haven’t come to this, that we’re revering reality shows and this obnoxious blowhard (I could be talking about the author or the subject, they’re pretty much one and the same).

    • miket. says:

what, i think we can safely blame three things for this phenomena:
      1. Proliferation of cable TV channels who had nothing to broadcast so very quickly discovered REALITY TV, which quickly proliferated like rabbits in the spring.
      2. Cell phone cameras.
      3. Neanderthal mentality.

  3. h arley says:

    1. HERES WHAT YOU SAID:
” He has no real plan,” Fox railed. “He’s just a reality TV star and billionaire appealing to the 25% of Americans who are unhappy with professional politicians.”

He does not have an appeal to 25% of americans….thats totally wrong…he has
an appeal to 25% of REPUBLICANS……
based on republicans being 35% of America…..he really has the backing of only
8% of America total….and that won’t get you elected to dog catcher in a
    presidential election.

and speaking of TKC…saw hearnes photo on there sunday. Was lookingto read
more about the thieves raising joco property taxes and saw hearnes
photo with an id badge saying he was now selling cars (I guess…I couldn’t read it…
but the article pointed it out…for what tkc is worth)
Not only was it a slam on hearne but also on the blog.
There was even a disgusting reference to Wilsons wife which was totally uncalled
for…crude and which attacked someones family which is off limits here at kcc
and should be banned on any blog.
It seems tony didn’t learn his lesson. Not only was there nothing on the issue
but there were the most crude comments I’ve ever read.
I don’t read tkc…its the lowest of the lowest.
Don’t comment there because I don’t agree with the disgusting attacks personally
made against the families of people who comment.
It did have something right….kcc has some smart people…southy…glaze…
stomper…..cowboy….and many others including myself Harley.
Why tkc allows the kind of language to be printed on his blog is beyond me.
I can handle the attacks…I get them here and on tkc even though I never
    comment there.
But the language used on people…their wives…teir families is disgusting.
I and others may throw jibs and jabs but nothing like the trash talk and
    vile language over at tkc.
I can’t figure out why glaze even writes there. the comments made there
against him are nothing but disgusting and horrid.
I give glaze the stuff about his sports scores…but nothing near the
gross lies that you see posted against him at tkc.

    • miket. says:

totally agree. and i could even read your post, harley!

anyway, i quit checking TKC about 6 months ago. totally predictable anymore – posts and comments both. he could have done so much more with it, but instead let it go to the gutter and trashed whatever respect he might have gained.

  4. the dude says:

This is fine with me because this paves the way for Dwayne Elizondo Mountain Dew Herbert Camacho to become President and the Monday Night Rehabilitations can begin with Beef Supreme smoking errybody.

  5. SteelyDanMan says:

    RIP KCConfidential.

    • h arley says:

why do you say kcc is dead…..?
      out of curiosity!
I think it could make some minor adjustments….make articles relevant
      …no more jewelry thieves…hangings….shoes….or midevil English literature…
and use the writers to their strengths…no more glazes wrong predictions
about sports (he’s batting 00.000)…and talking more about business…
government….events in kc…..interesting people (not glaze) and be
in tune with what people want to read.
Hearnes done a good job…but having read him in star for year…he’s
capable of doing much much more with this blog!

  6. CG says:

Great photo of Kim Hearne. And guy who compares me with Trump. OK I’LL TAKE IT AND WISH I HAD HIS MONEY. OR INTEREST ON IT. Nice.

  7. Harry Balczak says:

So did the urban youth riot on the plaza, when the latest rap bio pic was released, so we should never go north of 135th st and our lives are in jeopardy.

  8. Jack Springer says:

    Trump = Perot = Loser

  9. Kerouac says:

T-minus 448 days till TRUMP is elected President of the United States, and the darkest of black days in American history (otherwise known obuma) is no more…

    🙂

    • CG says:

Give K Credit, he often calls it right. ON Chiefs and even Royals. So wow is he right about Trump? Time will tell.

      • h arley says:

k is not right….he predicted the royals wouldn’t make
the playoffs and then the al championship and then the
        world series.
That’s pretty easy to pick…lets be honest.
Yourpicks glaze are pretty easy to make with your tease
but last year you got crushed…the previous year was the
        year of few underdog winners.
Neither of you went out on a limb….your picks are like
me saying that mitt romny will never be president…
        well duhhhhhhhh!
To say the royals won’t win the world series is an easy pick
although las vegas disagrees with you and k.
If k is so sure that trump will win lets see him put some
        money on it…..just won’t happen.
You quoted inaccurate stats in your story about the support
for tru mp….its not 25%….its merely a small unstable
sample of a primary poll (which have been proven wrong
and volatile as we saw in 2012).
If mr. k isso sure of his pick….lets put some money on it
right now…..sorry…Harley is the best and he says
not a snowball chance in hell because it would probably
mean the end of the republican party….
but its nice to see people get it wrong time after time
while Harley geets it right all the time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

      • miket. says:

k-rac’s inaccuracy is only surpassed by his constant lamentations about the good ol’ days when football was really football – you know, the leather helmet days – and baseball was pure and innocent, the stuff of dreams and unselfish, upstanding, players. when the Royals won a WS and the Chiefs ruled the NFL kingdom, never to achieve such glory again; so based on their past.

      • Kerouac says:

Green eyes amongst the rabble burn bright tonight, CG – green too the pallor will settle stomachs as faces theirs, when – barring injury an football analogy – TRUMP is elected 45th President of the United States.

        🙂

  10. CFPCowboy says:

Trump says what many want to hear, and in some cases, that is that we can have our cake and eat it too. Gone is the reality of working with Congress. Gone is the complication of working with our allies. Does he have a plan? You bet. Is it realistic? Hardly! Trump is a professional marketer, from his name in lights on Trump Plaza, to Trump on the sides of his plane and helicopter. It’s giving rides to kids, and whether it is snake oil or concrete, his brightly colored plane, helicopter, plane, or building, he enjoys attracting attention. His activities are robust, unusual, and some times as outragious as his ideas. Does he have a plan? Yes! Is it popular? Maybe. Does he have pariculars? Yes. Are they realistic? Absolutely not, but it really doesn’ matter for right now. However, his proposals are no less realistic than the blatant lies of you can keep your plan, and you can keep your doctor. He is saying what many want to hear, with the understanding that a battle plan only exists until you meet the enemy, reality. It is, after all, entertaining, at a time when we need and want entertainment.
