Well, it’s been a really great tournament…
Not so much for Big 12 fans. But even though it appears that Kentucky may go 40-0, there hasn’t been a big drop off in interest with their two likely challengers, Duke and Wisconsin.
Michigan State seems like a very good team led by a great tournament coach in Tom Izzo. They’re the only party crasher to the Final Four with the Spartans a 7 seed vs. Duke a No. 1 seed.
Duke with a super star NBA first round pick in Jahill Okafor appears to have just too much talent for Izzo’s boys tonight. You have to think that Michigan State is just kinda happy to be there at all. Hey, but look what Notre Dame nearly did to Kentucky’s team of future NBA stars like Karl Anthony Towns. Notre Dame outplayed the Wildcats until the very end. However if Kentucky coach John Calipari goes undefeated that game will be merely a footnote.
What about the tough Wisconsin Badgers?
Their big guys Frank Kaminsky and Sam Decker are as good as it gets.
To me this actually is the true title game.
You have to like Kentucky, but one gets the feeling if the Badgers can play at their A level and the Wildcats just at an A- level, Wisconsin can and will win a close game. However the Notre Dame game was probably the wake up call for the Wildcats.
Now if you are a betting man – and who isn’t? – this two game pick seems to make sense.
If you tease in basketball bets you can pick two games, you must them both to win, and can move the spread up or down 4 points. So as of right now Kentucky is a 5 1/2 point favorite over Wisconsin. Duke is a 4 1/2 favorite over Michigan State.
With that in mind here’s how I see it.
You have to like Kentucky over the Badgers but there is a decent chance here of an upset. SOOOO…if you take Wisconsin plus 9 1/2 you should feel pretty good instead of lowering Kentucky to 1 1/2. Right? I don’t see the Wildcats beating the Badgers by more than 6-9 points, yet they could even lose a close one.
Duke should handle Michigan State. So dropping them to just 1/2 point makes a ton of sense. Here’s the play: two team tease. Wisconsin plus 9 1/2 over Kentucky and Duke -1/2 over Michigan State. With the 1/2 points there will be no ties. You have to win both to win.

I hope hearne gets someone with some actual stats next year fr the nfl
