Steele: Book of Mormon or Book of Hypocrisy?

falseThe Star’s Robert Trussell is the rare reviewer to understand the historical significance of the musical, “Book of Mormon,” playing through March 8 at the Music Hall…

“Had the revered composers of shows we now consider to be part of the “golden age” of musicals peered into the future and seen what was coming,” writes Trussell, “their fastidious minds would have viewed it as a grotesque nightmare.”

Trussell accurately describes “Book of Mormon” as “an international hit that mocks religion and the conventions of musical theater with jokes about AIDS, female circumcision, dysentery and African poverty.”

This is all true enough, and in a more equitable world, there might be a place for such a play just as there is for Trey Parker and Matt Stone‘s amusing and perversely on-target film “Team America,” but this is not an equitable word.

An American citizen, Nakoula Bassely Nakoula, was deep-sixed in a Texas prison for making a mere trailer for a movie, “The Innocence of Muslims,” that questioned Islam.

Then Secretary of State Hillary Clinton called Nakoula’s trailer “disgusting and reprehensible.”

This was the same Hillary Clinton who was among those giving “Book of Mormon” a standing ovation early in its run.

The Associated Press reported soon after the opening, “The show has been greeted not by protests but rhapsodic reviews and standing ovations from crowds that have included celebrities as diverse as Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, actor Jack Nicholson and composer Stephen Sondheim.”

The media have been just as duplicitous as Hillary Clinton.

Their theater critics have raved about the “Book of Mormon”–the Huffington Post reviewer, for instance, was “praying” The Book of Mormon would be “a huge hit and lead the way for more original shows like it”–while their political people were calling for Nakoula’s head.

The Huffington Post helped lead the manhunt in the search for Nakoula after he was identified with articles like “” Filmmaker Identified By Law Enforcement“ and “’Innocence Of Muslims’ Shot On Hollywood Set, Film Permit Connected To Christian Charity.”

First Amendment? Naaa! That’s just for friends.

Nakoula’s very serious criminal past overlapped and influenced his resulting incarceration as it related to the “Innocence Of Muslims”. It would seem, that had he not been engaged in so many criminal enterprises prior to his budding cinematic endeavors, he would be a hero to many.

Slandering America’s Judeo/Christian ethos in all of it’s forms, is a sure fire meal ticket in the Entertainment Industry.

Making things even better for us all, the Federal Government and the FCC are an hour or so away from ruling on Net Neutrality. Hell, that should work out great!

I do think it is interesting that Kent Hovind is doing a 13 year stretch in Prison, while Al Sharpton is a White House confidant and a highly paid talking head on MSNBC.

The feds nailed Nakoula for posting his video online. As terms for his parole on a check kiting scam he was not allowed unsupervised Internet use. But make no mistake. He was sent to prison for the contents of his video.

Lemme ask ya this. The video, as we now know, had zilch to do with Benghazi. Are you saying, that his imprisonment was to bolster the false narrative that Susan Rice parroted that famous Sunday morning, or his imprisonment is a result of Islamic antipathy?

  4. chuck says:

    “his” Islamic antipathy.

I’m sorry Rich, you make my ass tired.
I’ll be scrolling past your stuff from now on.
I know already what your take will be.

  6. Rich Steele says:

Chuck, he was arrested to bolster the false narrative and to pacify our Islamic friends abroad.

Maybe someday we’ll see a musical parody about the Talmud, which says that non-jews are to be lied to and exploited and that Jesus is in Hell boiling in his own semen. Maybe someday we’ll see Sarah Silverman joke about how she would kill Muhammed.Maybe someday monkeys will fly right out of my ass.

The Holy Siddartha Gautama Shakyamuni is quoted as saying, “If you see the Buddha, kill him”. This, an omage to the eightfold path is meant to help open the eyes of those still languishing in Samsara.

Sarah Silverman is just a celebrity climbing piece of sh*t.

The Fascist Communications Commission took over the Internet yesterday.
