Glazer: It’s True, The Chiefs Are Super Bowl Bound

super_kcwolfThe Chiefs stockings Sunday were full of coal…

From coal town, no less – Pittsburgh, Pa.

Yep, the Steelers pretty much ended the Chiefs season. Actually it ended when they couldn’t beat the gawdawful Oakland Raiders a few weeks back.

The team was never the same.

Well, maybe the Chiefs are back to where they were before, that being AVERAGE. And this year that was kind of a good thing, because most of us thought they would win just five or six games. Instead they won eight, with one game to go. So in a small way they over achieved – they went from suck to okay.

The Steelers kept KC out of the end zone the entire game.

That despite that our boys were in the Red Zone five times. We left with four field goals, the usual major fumble and a million sacks and hits on quarterback Alex Smith (who can’t really figure out the deep throws much, though he tried).

This year’s Chiefs are kinda like K-State, a nice little team.

The Steelers won by a score of 20 to 12, but the Chiefs seemed out of it by the end of the first half. They failed on a fourth and one with Jamaal Charles getting stuffed at the line and that seemed to end things for the Chiefs.

Screen Shot 2014-12-21 at 10.33.57 PMCharles is our entire offense and he was shut down Sunday totally.

The Chiefs pass game of dink and dunk has gotten kinda old because the other teams have figured it out.

Ah, Christmas…

Another year older and another year the Chiefs don’t win one big game. The last one they won was with Joe Montana at the helm in 1993…beating – hey – the Steelers and Houston.

That was more than 20 years ago, gang.

No Super Bowl in a half century. Wow.

Only Detroit and the Jets have gone that long without even an appearance. And this is what I expect to see from the Chiefs for the next couple seasons. In other words, not much.

Remember the Christmas game at Municipal Stadium when Jan Stenerud missed a game winning field goal against Miami? That was in 1972, which marked the end of the powerful Kansas City Chiefs – maybe forever.

So enjoy the playoffs, the Chiefs will definitely be going….if they buy tickets that is.
