Glazer: Thank the Media for Last Night’s ‘Ghetto St. Patrick’s’ Celebration in Ferguson

2014-11-22t041729z_356846822_gm1eabm0y1y01_rtrmadp_3_usa-missouri-shooting.jpg_1718483346The jury’s in, no indictment…

And from what I’ve heard, I agree with their verdict. Apparently a jury of nine whites and three blacks said it was a justified shooting. Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson – in fear for his life – shot and killed 18 year-old Michael Brown.

Brown had just bullied the owner of a small, local store and stolen several cigars. It was all on tape. The six-foot four, 290 pound black man roughed up the little Asian guy at the store for no good reason – for kicks, I’d guess.

Later Officer Wilson saw the youth walking down the middle of the road, pulled him over and when the large youth blocked the door of the cop car and began hitting Wilson through the window there was a struggle and the officer’s gun went off inside the car, grazing the black youth’s hand. Brown then walked away, refused to stop, then rushed Wilson who in fear for his life fired.

And the grand jury believed enough of the story to not indict.

To me the media is as much to blame for these riots as anyone.

They covered this sad story from the get go, day and night, all but saying they expected there would be riots if the jury didn’t indict Wilson.

Brilliant.

ferguson-seasons-greetingsThen last night after the verdict was in – sure enough – riots broke out. The predominately black city went nuts, rioters burned down several businesess, looted others and beat on each other – black on black.

As for Wilson shooting Brown, I think things just spun out of control in the heat of the moment, the police officer was alone and the rest is history. But what was Brown doing reaching inside the police car and fighting over Wilson’s gun in the first place? Who does that?

Brandon Howell

Brandon Howell

Weeks later Kansas City had a worse story.

A black man named Brandon Howell went on a killing spree.

He murdered five people in two KC locations taking a car and some other small items. There was no real reason for the killing and the white victims did nothing to him and didn’t even resist.

Al Sharpton and Jessie Jackson never showed up for that one.  And Star FYI columnist Jeneé Osterheldt never even mentioned it – let alone said it made her feel guilty for hanging out at Woodside.

Nor did white people riot or burn down Starbucks over the affair.

And there was no continuous, national press on the story either.

These types of stories – sometimes involving  NFL, NBA or College football players, almost all of whom are black – being arrested daily for violent crimes make many white people fear black people.

That’s the simple  truth.

Most black people don’t like white people. They blame whites for all their problems. It’s as simple as that. I know, I’ve dated a number of black women – two this year, in fact.

I’ve heard people say the way thing’s unfolded in Ferguson last night was kind of like a “Ghetto St. Patricks Day.”

That’s sad, but kinda true in a way, because most of the people burning, rioting and looting just wanted to party, get some free booze and cigarettes and maybe a new TV. That or just have fun watching things being destroyed – they didn’t really care what caused it.

It was all about the media and them…pathetic.

you fool. The gj in no way said it was a justified shooting.
Wherev do you get this stuff?
and you’ve had multiple girls make claims against you?
old saying you should have learned ….when you sleep with dogs/you get fleas.

  2. harley says:

    “I should know…I dated 2 black girls…just this year”….
so now you should be teaching African American studies at JCCC>

  3. harley says:

mr. glaze….all this garbage you wrote can’t be believable! Even the policemans

‘Later Officer Wilson saw the youth walking down the middle of the road, pulled him over and when the large youth blocked the door of the cop car and began hitting Wilson through the window there was a struggle and the officer’s gun went off inside the car, grazing the black youth’s hand. where did you get this information. Did you read the testimony of the police
officer and his so called cross examination by the prosecutor? Obviously you
    did not!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

The officers own testimony refuted this account. the policeman had various stories to tell
and literally got away with no cross examination by the prosecutor.
In law…as stan said…the prosecutor is to make the case for charges against
the police officer. He is there to represent the people and GET THIS
    the VICTIM.
Glaze …when you went to court for your charges ….did the prosecutor act
as your defense lawyer. I seriously doubt it. If it was federal court…the
prosecutor was there to lock you up unless you made a deal. The prosecutor
treated the police officer with kid gloves. Every legal expert is talking about
this now that the evidence is coming out. Please…you are not an attorney..
and having been to prison does not quali

      Geez, Harley…

I just listened to Wilson’s interview on ABC and that’s pretty much how he described it.

      • paulwilsonkc says:

This is why you can’t have a nice blog.

      • harley says:

        HEARNE…you’re an investigative reporter….go read
the transcripts….read the evidence…the officer was not
really cross examined and his stories were changing as he
went. ABA says the government should file charges and
I’m sure there will be a civil suit which will cost Wilson
millions of dollars. Hearne go read the other side before
        you comment…that’s a reporters job.

        • admin says:

          You investigate.

Did you see the forensics people on CNN today that said 100 percent of the forensics support Wilson’s contention?

          • paulwilsonkc says:

Give it up. Harley said the officer would be indicted a long time ago. He was wrong. He’s wrong a lot. But when he’s wrong, he skips the “Im wrong” part and proceeds to telling everyone else they are wrong.
He said Wilson would be indicted based on his SPECTACULAR inside information.
            He wasn’t.
            Harley is wrong.
If you look on Twitter I had the inside from the Brown family contacts who LEAKED the results minutes before the press conference.
I had it on three major media sites, one local radio station who used my info, called it early and was correct. Was on three major market stations last night being interviewed about it. My information between 8pm and 1am was being used by NPR, KMBZ and the Wash Post, among others.
Just give it up. This douche is an anchor around the neck of KCC.
THREE autopsies agree, Harley is still saying its all wrong. He’s old hat….. why honor him with a response?

          • harley says:

DUDE…you needto go back to my many many
articles where I never ever said thecop would
            absolutely indicted.
And for a fact an hour before the announcement made public it appeared on
at least 3 blogs that I have a relationship with.
Even my good friend in Maryland knew before
            you…and he’s a broker…..the schools were
            told and parents were texted.
You had no scoop…except a scoop of the usual
b.s. Hahahaha…they use your stuff at
            Washington post…dude..I had thefront page
            of USA Today…appeared on GMA/CBS News/
MSNBC/ and probably 500 other stations..
            You can never equal HARLEY
3 MINUTES????? WTF????? Again you were
            wrong…wrong….AND SLLLLOOOOOWWWWW
You thnk you got tat huge tip but it’s just
another episode in your beleaguered life.
Sorry dude…at your age trying to make a name
forv yourself by playing “CSI Detective Failure”..
I mean seriously…you’re worse than barney
            on andy of mayberry. KLUTZ.
you’ve blown more stupid stories and comments
via these blogs than anyone…yes anyone.
Again…in your make believe world of “sprint
            insiders”…yeah inside the bathroom….or the
great jewl thief ring you had in your radar..
now that was a riot. One person emailed
“who is this guy? Now I know why he is so
            enamored with himself?”
Hearne said that this guy fantasized about
Harley….now is that not freaking weird ….and
I’ll rerun the comments about him….
I got at least 10 emails from people laughing
at that comment. Istill laugh when I think
            about it.
So you’re scoop was beat…the jewl thiefs
got away….sprint never merged like you
            guaranteed….the kids loose….and every election
you were wrong…remember you picked Romney to win big just 3 days before the election…
sir…a man of your years…should know better.
You should have learned your lessons (haha!)
and you know sto never doubt Harley.

Post the link to your USA TODAY story. Period.
          Liar.

      • harley says:

the lazy man tells us that he couldn’t read any of the reports
of the multiple mistakes made by the prosecutor in this case.
Tells his readers to go do research.
Well my big bucks …I have done that and have proven
you and sasquatch wrong every thing you’ve said.
Take 10 minutes and since you’re the writer Iwold think
you would fact check what happened…see if there’s
any legal or otherwise means to contest what happened
        at the gj.
Again…as we learned many time your laziness only makes
        you seem stupid.
go check the facts…read something besides your own

        • paulwilsonkc says:

Post ONE LINK to ONE STORY youve written! EVER! Start with your claim above for USA TODAY’s FRONT PAGE or STFU you lying mofo.
Post the link or you remain what we all know you to be; a lost soul in section 8 housing spanking it with one hand and typing on your Leap Pad with the other,
You lying sack of horse dung. Post ONE….ONE link. Your anonymous days are over buddy. I’ve had my fill and you’re getting outted!
One little piece at a time. Starting with your first name.

    • rww says:

My contacts in Ferguson gave me an exclusive! Well actually they are cousins from Illinois. But they told me that Harley is a frickin idiot!!! Unquote.

    • CG says:

Harley you are right. The cop had no reason to fire at this poor young man, who had clearly done nothing wrong. He would have grown up to be a leader in his community and a model citizen. No doubt. I mean just look at him for lords sake, a clean cut innocent babe. The cop, a terrible racist for sure. Was out that day looking to kill a black person. No doubt. You got it right.

      • harley says:

cg: MINOR THEFT does not have a death penalty.
And who’s to say that a young man who had problems couldn’t
grow up to be successful/aarticulate and a good citizen.
You did. You were in prison…and now doing well.
And you say it can’t be done…..hypocrite and look at yourself
        in the mirror. No don’t.
However…when someone with your story is preaching to
anyone about anything the earth will explode.
Everything I have commented about after speaking with the
major players in the area (not pretending to be a reporter
or playing Bernstein with some old outdated tips from
heaven) has been that the gj has/had some serious problems.
Read glaze. And do some research besides listening to
fox news while you’re homing on the black ladies!
Do not preach to me dude. I have an incredible rabbi to do
that. And he is having a hell of a year in his football picks!!!!!!

    • the dude says:

Grand Juries do not have cross examination you pinhead. It is all prosecuting attorney dog and pony here. You can indict a ham sandwich at a grand jury and you can not charge a dirty cop. I think we all know how McCullough leaned.

      • harley says:

wrong sir….the prosecutor cross examines any witness
he wants to. Please read the transcript of the proceedings
then lets talk. Dude when you read it and you understand
what the prosecutors job is in a gj and what actually
happens at a picnic bench….you get it correct.
thanks for being a fan of Harleys!

  4. chuck says:

I think Glaze makes some good points.

I also think Harley is Travis Bickle’s really crazy brother. And no, I am NOT looking at him.

    • Orphan of the Road says:

Johnson’s testimony supported the timeline of Wilson’s testimony. Details differed much as in a conversation between KU and MU fans. Police are officers of the court first and foremost.

Just finished reading a Rand Paul article and he put the blame on politicians and the war on drugs. Both have created such a hostile environment for the police to try and do their jobs.

Bill Mahr is saying he will keep Rand Paul in mind for support in 2016.

I initially thought Wilson was guilty of at least manslaughter. After reading the transcripts of testimony there was plenty of reasonable doubt.

Gov. Nixon laid a big, fat egg (again) when he was asked if ultimately the buck stops with him.

” ‘We’re, um, you know, it uh, it uh, you know, our goal here is to, is to, you know, keep the peace and allow folks’ voices to, uh, uh, to be heard. Um, and in that balance, I’m attempting, you know I am, using the resources we have to marshal to be predictable, uh, for both those pillars. I, I don’t, I’m more … I, I have to say I don’t spend a tremendous amount of time personalizing this vis-a-vis me.’ ”

“He continued: ‘I’m trying to make sure that, uh, um, that, that we move forward in a predictable, peaceful manner that plans for all contingencies that might occur so that people of a disparate group of opinions and actions can, can be heard while at the same time the property and, and persons, personal, persons of people in the St. Louis region are protected. So, that, I mean, uh, I’d, I’d prefer not to be a commentator on it.’ ” (From jimmycsays)

      • chuck says:

It’s almost too obvious to comment on this thing at this point Orphan. It’s just the race baiting machine, doing what the race baiting machine always does. My opinion, at this point, is unprintable.

There are some heroes in this disaster, as there always are in every disaster, but we don’t know their names yet. We will. This type of information, NEVER stays secret.

I have never met them, but I know who the three bravest African Americans in America are this week. The African American jurors on the Grand Jury that looked at the facts and saw the truth.

While Al Race Baiter Sharpton will make major bank on this event and probably get a raise, more speaking engagements and more invitations to the White House (The guy must sleep on the couch in the Oval Office now.) those 3 African Americans will have to go home and face their neighbors.

While Benjimin Crump (King of the Red Herring and non sequitur in malapropistic sibilance. ) will gather more clients and gravitas, complete with speaking engagements and appearances on talk shows, those 3 African Americans will have to go home and face their neighbors.

While the media talking heads and producers of “News Shows” revel in higher ratings and new careers created out of whole black cloth, those 3 African Americans will have to go home and face their neighbors.

The list of scumbag perps, professors, talking heads, lawyers, politicians and scofflaws who will use this situation to further disgusting and pernicious agendas is endless. Those 3 African American jurors will have to go home and face their neighbors.

So here is a toast, to the real heroes, who actually told the truth under the greatest of duress and will pay the price for the rest of their lives. “Uncle Toms” and “Race Traitors” suffer in a mostly monolithic black community. Those black folks who rise above “Identity Politics” are to be lauded accordingly in my opinion, it’s a lonely field to plow.

God bless them and keep them whole in the days ahead.

        • KCMonarch says:

How do you know the three African Americans voted not to indict? I have not seen any specifics on the ruling and it is my understanding was that 9 votes either way was the requirement.

  5. Bill Cosby says:

    Thank you Ferguson!!!

  6. Lance The Intern says:

Robert McCulloch’s father was a police officer killed in a shootout with an African-American suspect. His brother served with the St. Louis Police Department, and his mother worked there for 20 years as a clerk.

Make of that what you will.

    • the dude says:

Police homer at the very least. The cop at least should see excessive force charges and manslaughter at the worst. Bad decisions were made by all parties involved that day and Ferguson suffered for it. As a former Ferguson resident this tragic unfolding of events has been very sad for me.

      • Orphan of the Road says:

The Wilsons of the world are merely symptoms of a culture which is in shambles.

I hoped, foolishly, the grand jury process would get past the issue of was this shooting justifiable. Go on to examine how a minor incident led to an officer emptying his gun into an unarmed man.

Regardless of whether was a bully who shoplifted or a punk who antagonized a cop, he shouldn’t have ended up dead.

They let the monkey go and blamed the monkey wrench.

  7. SteelyDanMan says:

Glaze totally redeems himself with this post. I wholeheartedly agree. The situation makes sense when you take racism out of it. Brown grabbed a bull by its horns, and got poked.

All the protestors are worshipping a thug, a CRIMINAL, when the killer hasn’t been found for the 10-year-old KCK girl last month. Priorities. Nigga, please. (And don’t delete this comment, Hearne. The n-word, by very definition, means ignorant or stupid.)

  8. Jim a.k.a. BWH says:

What? Wait a minute!!! Are you saying that a guy that just robbed a store, threatened the store’s owner and then proceeded to punch a cop multiple times while trying to wrestle his service weapon away from him and ultimately bull-rushed him after a short foot chase was shot and killed?! No way!!!

If that doesn’t violate his civil rights, what does? It’s a slippery slope once you take the right to punch and attempt to kill cops away from the American people.

  9. Grazix says:

OH THE HORRIBLE AGONY OF BEING WHITE IN THIS COUNTRY. WHAT A TRIAL.

    Chuck,

    (sigh)

Would a more nuanced approach help you see your own White Privilege more clearly?

    Check it:

You can turn on the television or open to the front page of the paper and see people of your race widely represented.

When you glow am told about your national heritage or about “civilization,” you are shown that white people made it what it is.

If a cop pulls you over or if the IRS audits your tax return, you can be sure you haven’t been singled out because of your race.

You can, if you wish, arrange to be in the company of people of your race most of the time. And I would have to guess that you do.

If you should need to move, you can be pretty sure of renting or purchasing housing in an area which you can afford and in which you would want to live.

You can be pretty sure that your neighbors in such a location will be neutral or pleasant to you.

You can go shopping alone most of the time, pretty well assured that you will not be followed or harassed.

So maybe that’s a little insight into what non-whites have to face everyday.

They also have to face attitudes like yours, which must just turn their stomachs.

    • chuck says:

      The anonymous “Grazix”

      (sigh)

Lets see if I have this right.

1)When I turn on my TV, I see for the most part, negativity that relates to crime the lion’s share of which is represented by 13% of the population.

      2) What? You want another month besides February? You can only repeat the stories of those intrepid Civil Rights pioneers from 60 years ago so many times, but hey, we don’t want anymore sh*t burned down, so pick another month and we will all suffer through the usual BS and feel as guilty as possible.

3)The ONLY people in the news, accosted unfairly by the IRS (Ya might wanna turn off Al Jazeera and MSNBC every now and again.) are Conservatives who have been targeted by the same Progressive, Liberal apparatchiks who have elevated folks just like you, way past your pay grade.

4)The idea that there is a white overt or covert effort to keep blacks from hanging around with other blacks is as specious and stupid as your commentary here.

5)Total BS. If anyone, I mean anyone is stupid enough to even breathe in the wrong direction when blacks are looking for a house, the hell and high water from the Federal government, which includes real jail time will be their reward. Your as big a liar as Harley. This ain’t Selma in 1965 and anyone who thinks it is, needs to turn off all those black victimization movies, and go get a job.

      6) Ya got me here, if you moved in next door, I would torture you mercilessly with FOX News turned up to 115DB (Condescension like yours, is palatable and deserving of a high quality Bill O’Reilly rant every fu*kin night.)

7)Yeah, retail business owners should follow little old ladies all over the store, because they are constantly ripping them off. What is really crazy, is seeing all those little old white ladies in flash mobs grabbing stuff and running out of the store. If your feelings are hurt, I don’t give a sh*t. When criminal activity stops being disproportionately black, store owners will stop keying on blacks.

Now, there is some insight for you, shove it where the sun don’t shine.
