New Jack City: Hollywood’s Holiday Rush—Right Here, Right Now

katniss_hunger_games_catching_fire-wideNext to the summer movie season, Thanksgiving-Christmas movie weeks are Hollywood’s second most important play period of the year…

One thing the Thanksgiving/Christmas schedule usually has OVER summer movies is the quality of films offered by the studios.

Many of the titles released are often part of the year’s Oscar hopefuls.

Here then (probably) are your most complete list of movies available to Kansas City moviegoers during the 2013 holiday period and their opening dates—which can change up to the last minute!

Many of the films listed will open wide, others in limited runs. And a few may open as exclusive engagements, then platform out to additional theaters in subsequent weeks.

Movies marked (###) are the ones I believe will become part of upcoming Oscar race.

So here they are. This year’s 25 motion pictures of Kansas City’s holiday season.

Whyy the hell are they remaking Oldboy?!?!?

    • PB says:

Because they’re idiots with no original ideas. Spike Lee, no less. WTF?!

That list certainly doesn’t excite me. In for The Hunger Games because I like the books and Jennifer Lawrence. And probably American Hustle (Jennifer again!) , Wolf of Wall St. and maybe the Coen Brothers flick. That’s pretty much it.

A day after we put out our holiday movie calendar here comes the first opening date change!
The documentary “ARMSTRONG LIE” has been moved from back its original opening date of November 27 to December 13.

    There you go Lancers……

I will say it’s good to have an Evangeline Lilly sighting again, but damn, as some elfin archer?
