That said, it seems rare and unusual for a slammer bound businessman’s wife to – not just rise to the occasion – but take the helm of a major restaurant chain such as the Hereford House. Enter convicted arsonist Rod Anderson‘s wife Camellia.
“She comes in every once in a while but she stays down at Pierpont’s mainly,” says Hereford House Leawood hostess Rachael. “She’s running it; she’s running all of them actually. She took over for her husband and is doing a great job. She’s quite a lady.”
Ditto adds veteran server Kelly:
“Last October, just before Halloween when (Rod) went to jail, he signed everything over to her,” she says. “His wife’s been running it since, all four Hereford Houses and Pierpont’s.”
Does Rod – sentenced last month to 15 years for burning down the original Hereford House downtown – still own any of it?
Anderson Restaurant Group CFO Jim Stanislav declined to comment and Camellia did not return calls for this column.
