Kansas City is about to gain a giant new movie screen…
The Extreme Screen to be exact.
And it’s in a movie theater facility dedicated to presenting top, first run commercial motion pictures.
The Regnier Extreme Screen at Union Station has been re-equipped with the latest in projection and sound technology and opens to the public next Friday, March 8.
Premiere Grand Opening attraction of the Extreme Screen Theatre located inside Kansas City’s famed Union Station will be Disney’s highly anticipated production of director Sam Raimi‘s OZ: THE GREAT AND POWERFUL. The film stars James Franco, Mila Kunis, Michelle Williams and Rachel Weisz.
The 440 seat auditorium has been outfitted with a giant new five story tall screen. (Exact measurements are 53 x 80 feet.)
Also two new digital Barco projection units. An Ultra Stereo JSD-100 digital cinema processor with JBL 5742 quad amped stage speakers with 30,000 watts of power for all encompassing surround sound. And RealD 3-D for brilliant digital three dimensional projection on the largest silver screen in the area.
The theater will begin its daily shows as early as 10:00 a.m. and run performances continuously through the evening hours.
A three hour free parking validation will also be available for all guests with movie theater tickets.
The theater will be operated and managed for Union Station by locally based Dickinson Theatres, Inc.
