New Jack City: Adios Al Gore–Hello Al Jazeera
With the newly announced purchase of Al Gore’s cable channel CURRENT TV by Al Jazeera, all eyes are now on Time Warner Cable.
TWC is the nation’s second largest cable provider and provides the CURRENT TV channel to approximately 12.1 million subscribers.
If Time Warner decides to terminate its agreement for CURRENT TV under its new ownership, it’ll be a tough road to haul for Al Jazeera’s English penetration into the American media market.
According to Deadline Hollywood Time Warner is “keeping an open mind” about carrying the now-controversial, low-rated channel.
