In one corner we have KC Confidential movie maven Jack Poessiger. In the other, Fox 4 movie guy Shawn Edwards. And smack in the middle, director Steven Spielberg‘s new movie Lincoln.
To Jack’s way of thinking, Lincoln totally rocks. As for Edwards, read on.
“I hated ‘Lincoln,’ write that down. “It’s boring and they skip over slavery entirely. The whole movie is about the 13th Amendment, but they don’t show you anything about how horrible slavery was or how important it was to The South.”
As for the prospects of ‘Lincoln” winning an Academy Award, “I know, Steven Spielberg is a great director, but it’s lazy filmmaking and the entire membership of the Academy matches the makeup of the Republican Party,” Edwards says. “They might as well call it the Republican Academy Awards.
The flip side of Edwards’ holiday Dead President’s movie role call: FDR with Bill Murray.
“Yeah, I liked that movie a lot,” Edwards says. “Bill Murray’s my dude. He’s fun in the movies. He went all in and it’s more interesting than ‘Lincoln,’ I’ll tell you that. And it’s more honest than ‘Lincoln’ – way more honest than ‘Lincoln.’ ”
As Fox News likes to say, we report, you decide.
