Starbeams: KU Bests MU, Tamba Does Lance, Royals Itch Promotion

U.S. News and World Report released its annual rankings of “Best Colleges” and Mizzou ranked #97.  KU came in just below at #106.  KU defends its inferior score by saying 106 is better than 97 in basketball.

Kansas Speedway has added a road course to bring a six-turn design to the front stretch.  More great news for Kansas City’s African American population.

Tamba Hali says he didn’t like being away from the Chiefs during his one-week suspension from the NFL for substance abuse. He spent his week off qualifying for next year’s Tour de France.

It looks like the Royals will finish the season in third place in the AL Central.  For the first time in two decades, the fans aren’t talking about Las Vegas when they cheer, “Let’s Go Royals.”

The Royals banged out 13 hits in Minnesota Wednesday night.  When the Twins get a dozen hits, everyone with a ticket stub gets a free can of mosquito spray.

Jay Nixon‘s veto of a bill forcing employers to provide birth control for employees was overturned by Missouri’s General Assembly.  Employers can now refuse coverage for birth control if it violates their religious beliefs.  I asked Miss Missouri what her beliefs were recently and she just kept screaming, “Oh God!”

I’m not sure which movie set off the protestors in Libya, but I’m guessing it was Snow White and the Huntsman.
