Glazer: Scribe Lays Down a Few College Bets to Get Things Started

I was going to wait until next week for a full slate of pro and college football picks but…

There are a couple good games today and tomorrow in college football, so let’s take a fast look around the track and pick a couple winners to get things rolling.

The early game is Notre Dame vs. Navy.

Boy does Missouri hate Navy. Remember when Navy beat MU in bowl game three years back?

Anyway, the Irish are stocked with better talent this year and are a 15 point favorite. I like them to cover, because they’re bigger, faster, and playing “at home” in Dublin.

For some reason the big game today – Alabama versus Michigan – is being played in…Texas. HUH?  That’s more a home game for the National Champs who are a 14 point favorite. I think Bama is great with Lou Saban at the helm.

Alabama should cover this bet.

Now on to my picks…

Remember, a tease gives you 6 points either way you pick, but you have to win both games to win. In other words you may add or subtract the 6 points.

Notre Dame -15 over Navy

Alabama -14 over Michigan

Oregon – 30 over Ark. State, tease with

Arizona -4 over Toledo.

On the tease with Oregon points have been taken on the numbers seen here..you must win both to win.

Welcome back to football!

Who is the f is Lou Saban? Sheezus.

I find it hilarious that the Big 10 and SEC waltz right into Texas and stage the biggest football game of week 1, right in the LongWhorns backyard. Meanwhile, a great majority of the LongWhorn faithful won’t be able to watch the Wyoming game because it’s on LHN, and (almost) no one carries that channel.

    Lou coached the Broncos.

Not bad Glaze, ya missed on Oregon but they dominated more than what the score showed I thought.

Floyd Mayweather put 3 million on Michigan to cover, I shit you not.

    Heh, heh…

Now go wash your mouth out with soap and remember that the next time you want to be a potty mouth!

Well it was a nice start t the season, thanks Chuck, you notice few comments…when you do well, many have little to say…they will wait for me to miss more than I hit…but hitting all but one of those games was well I think a job well done….yeah I thought I had Oregon didn’t know the other team had caught up til this morning to cover..thought I got them all…my main call of course was Alabama I see them as national champs again..they have the all time best coach in football…I think they only get better from here.

        • Craig Glazer says:

Floyd is looking for anyway he can to be on CNN in three or four years explaining how he blew 350 million bucks, twice..he will…he follows in a long line of minority athletes with no education that we wrote about..they blow it all and fast..T.O. and now Chad Johnson have quickly joined in…its the entourage who feeds off them, no financial education, none, a lack of trust in white people who could help them…and of course hate and keeping up with the ‘fake’ Jones’s…

You would think after seeing it over and over, they might get a clue…nope…”where’s my baseball cap and Bentley…I bought my mom a home, and bought me five homes and bought….”

You are right. I think it would be a good idea to require all college athletes to take a class on managing money so at least some of them will know how to save and invest it wisely if they have a professional career. Beyond what you said, another thing that makes some of them go broke is women. If you father kids by 10 different women, by the time you pay child support for all of them, you won’t have that much left no matter what you make to begin with. Don’t trust women to use birth control if you are rich and famous.

I ain’t gonna lie to ya. If I had 20 Mill when I was 20 years old, the money would be gone and so would I.

    • Craig Glazer says:

Chuck good point, I think had my career taken off stronger in LA in the early 80’s I would have blown most of it as well…wanting to keep up…you almost have to live it to understand losing it all…I do know some young media millionaires who now know better, all of them have good parents and an education, the ones who didn’t and keep it get it when they are older like Lewis Black, they know what its like to not have it but see it all around you, as I often did, painful…so when it does come your way, you respect it a bit more, alot more…I now know 5 million dollar homes, a million dollar boat, and too many wives and toys kill almost everyone… I had the taste and now I see the light, it takes a few years and a few beatings, but no I would never have blown 20 or 100 million bucks…not a chance…hell give me 5 and I’ll be happy as a lark…promise…
