Glazer: Scribe Wipes Away a Tear, Bids Adieu to Whitney Houston

One of the greatest singing voices and vocal talents of our time is gone…

Whitney Houston was found dead in her Beverly Hills Hotel room tonight, by her on again, off again boyfriend, the singer Ray J. Many feel, as do I, that Houston was the all time best female vocalist of our time along with Barbra Streisand.

It’s no secret that Whitney battled hard core cocaine abuse for the last two decades.

Houston’s massive career was shot down in the 1990’s by the drugs. She twice went to rehab and declared herself drug free as late as 2010. Many blame her former husband Bobby Brown for the daily coke use. Evidence also pointed to her using the ‘pipe," smoking it as well. Houston told Oprah that she used every day after work, and said her life was a "nightmare."

Such a sad story.  What a tragic loss and waste of such a wonderful American Talent.

Houston will be best remembered for her many smash hits including "I Will Always Love You" from the hit film, The Bodyguard with Kevin Costner. And who can forget her best-ever version of the Star Spangled Banner at the 1991 Super Bowl that was so fantastic. It too became a hit single for Houston.

Whitney tried a comeback in 2009 with a platinum album, "I Look To You."  But it all went bad with her messed up interview and attempt at singing the song live on "Good Morning America." Houston blamed her voice that morning on her previous interviews weakening her voice. Everyone knew she was jacked on drugs. She looked pretty awful the last few months as recent photos reveal.

Whitney had it all – looks, talent, one of the greatest voices in music history. But she lacked one thing, true love.

She was a sad and wounded woman her entire adult life. Hearing she had passed choked me up. To this day, I often listen to her songs.

She will be badly missed, and that includes by me.

    RIP Crackhead
What wasted talent that made millions. It’s a shame our broke military members don’t make any type of headlines when they are killed in war.

  2. Jasper says:

Dang, just when I thought we might be rid of the stink of glazer, there he is again.

Too bad it wasnt him yesterday.

  3. Smartman says:

    Are You Listening Beena?
This is how it all ends.

  4. Bobby Brown says:

    Thanks Glaze, appreciate the sentiment.
Here is a 59 second clip, that kind of brings our marraige and our careers into focus, removes the glitz and reveals the real people that we were together. A sagacious, thoughtful blend of talent and brains, which, when justapositioned against this unexpected and fatal outcome, seems surreal.

“The Voice” will live on, especially tonight at the Grammys, where I am expecting “The Beach Boys” and “Maroon 5” to team up with “Foster The People” and kick it with a stirring rendition of “The Greatest Love Of All”. Of course, we are all anticipating the show’s close, yes, you guessed it, Elton John will sing “I’m Every Woman” acapella.

Finally, I don’t think Kanye will be pissed at all about having to share the spotlight with a dead woman. He is cool that way.

  5. chuck says:

    BTW
    Well said Brett.

  6. randyraley says:

“You know I smoked a lot of grass.
Oh Lord! I popped a lot of pills.
    But I’ve never touched nothin’
    That my spirit couldn’t kill.
You know I’ve seen a lot of people walking ’round
    With tombstones in their eyes.
I said God Damn! God damn the pusher man.”

So much help available. Hard core drug use will kill you slowly but surely, step by step, inch by inch from the inside out….this generation learned nothing from the dark side of mine. This woman had it all, fame, fortune, looks, style charisma, but she couldn’t put down the pipe. That’s a ten foot demon.
BTW, isn’t Ray J the dude who “launched” Kim Kardashians “career” by pissing on her on tape?
Trouble will find you, sneak up behind you.

  7. Merle Tagladucci says:

Here’s your Whitney Houston primer right here folks.

  8. mermaid says:

    This is very sad..
When one chooses to abuse and not take care of themselves they aren’t hurting themselves they are hurting the people who care about them and we are the ones that end up living the pain. Whitney chose that path and now her daughter has to live with this pain forever. I think people need to realize what they are doing and who they are hurting. It’s a very selfish act period.

  9. Mr Wilson says:

Greatest She Wasn’t Nor you for that matter
She was another person who might have been great but like Glazer she hit the drugs and became a pimple to society. So she was just an average junkie to say the least who is now dead. Strange how many get a chance in life and ruin it by being idiots. (Ummm hear that Glazer)

But the world loves to worship a person who does it all wrong and makes a lot to do about the whole mess but won’t cross the street to help a veteran or his family. Yes Glazer you are that type of person who gets all teary eyed over a fellow druggie but won’t make it known how you help out those in your home town who need it. Brag about your cars and those you know but never lift a hand to help people. Oh you gloat like you do but it’s always stuff that can’t be proven so is moot. Don’t call out Bobby Brown like you did when you are nothing more than a white version of him.

You only think she was one of the greatest because you think you are great as well. Well you have no idea what great is and never will.

A scribe is a person who writes books as a profession. The work could involve copying books, including sacred texts, or secretarial and administrative duties such as taking of dictation and the keeping of business, judicial and historical records for kings, nobility, temples and cities. The work could involve public servants, journalists, accountants, typists, and lawyers.

Since it would appear you fit none of the above for the position of a scribe I would suggest you stop committing fraud as well.

  10. Super Dave says:

    What else is new
Houston’s bodyguard found Houston, said Courtney Barnes, a publicist for rapper Ray J, who was dating the star.

    Wrong again Glazer.

  11. Markus Aurelius says:

you can get choked up when a 9 year old girl gets murdered
or when half a family is tragically killed in a highway accident while the other half survies, or when a long-time friend loses a battle with disease or old age; but how do you get choked up when someone supremely gifted trashes their own life and needlessly throws it it all away? She had talent, money, and beauty yet her ego prevented her from ever experiencing life and love. THAT part of it is tragic, but her death was simply the logical conclusion to years of horrible life decisions.

Still blown away by the fact that the network cut into the middle of programming (Charlie Brown’s Valentine special) last night to tell us that she died. When they cut in mid-sentence, my wife and I thought there must have been some world or national crisis and then they tell us that she died. What about the countless others that died yesterday that didn’t contribute to their own demise? Where are the tears for them?

I can’t understand how all these people can say they miss her so much. She’s basically been off the radar (other than negative press for drugs, fights, etc…) for the past 15 years. What a shame.

  12. Matt says:

    Who gives a shit?
Only other druggy types, the very board and the media. The general public is sick of the selfish dysfunctional lives of the Elvis/Michael/Lindsay/Whitney tye personalities.

We intentionally DID NOT watch the Grammys last night to avoid the sickening barrage of “love” for people like her who bask in their own self destruction.

  13. Guy Who Says What Others Think says:

    So long, cokehead
Who cares? A cokehead junkie bites the dust. Piss on her. We’ve got innocent children all over this nation being abused and murdered by their own parents, and I’m supposed to care about this talented piece of shit? Good riddance to a crackhead. Maybe her child will have a better chance without it’s drug addled mother setting such a shit example.

  14. BarKeeper says:

    Old Number 58
Derick Thomas…we (the taxpayers) are still supporting his nine or ten out-of-wedlock spawn, but half-wit jock sniffers will instantly sqirt tears at the mere mention of his name.

I guess not wearing a seat belt can be loosely compared to the crack pipe….huh?

  15. Kerouac says:

James Dean, Elvis Presley, Marilyn Monroe, Amy Winehouse…
“Such a sad story. What a tragic loss and waste of such a wonderful American Talent.”

    – object lesson # 999999, second verse same as the first, etc. etc. ad nasueam ad infinitum. Livin’ la vida loca has it’s price… the names, places & calendars change but result is ever the same.

  16. Orphan of the Road says:

    Kerouac
How’d Dean get on your list? He was hit head on by a drunk driver.

  17. Kerouac says:

    Same gun, different bullet
Dean was another who lived life recklessly… his fast living caught up with him, end of his road literally September 30, 1955; read ‘The Mutant King’ for examples, variously.

  18. Bob says:

    I WAS WRONG
I knew Glazer would write a story. But i was wrong. I was sure he would claim he had banged her once while meeting with Hollywood producers over a moive deal. My BAD.

  19. Orphan of the Road says:

    Kerouac
I’ll have to read the book.

His death doesn’t seem to fit the model of the others you lifted i.e. straining at stool, reading porno/suicide/alcohol&drugs.

A troubled soul all the same.

  20. paulwilsonkc says:

Orphan, you prompted me to get on amazon
and order the book, but what I got was ‘The Mutant King of Sting’ . I think that must be a different book.
