Glazer: Watch Out Dudes, Women Today Large and in Charge

"Why can’t a woman be more like a man?" asked Rex Harrison in My Fair Lady...

Well, a century later they are!

Today woman make up 49% of the work force, according to the Bureau of Labor. Men are 20% sole supporters of families with women at just over 10% and climbing. Most job losses in the current depression went to men – 80% of jobs lost were on the man side – with 65% of those men getting other jobs at lower pay. Women were not hit as hard due to their roles in education and healthcare. So women suffered less layoffs, while men with construction and manufacturing jobs took big hits.

Women today want to be more like men, especially when it comes to sex.

Ladies talk openly today about who they are gonna "do," guys body sizes, etc. Much like men did and still do today. Girls go to bars to get picked up and jumped, not to find Mister Right. They too, more than ever, want one night stands or couple nights stands.

Women know what men should know, that marriage doesn’t work – not for the long haul.

Today more than 50% of all marriages end in divorce. More than 35% of what’s left struggle on in miserable relationships with their partners. Fifty percent of those who stay married "do it for the kids." The Forest Institute of Professional Psycology says that 67% of second marriages fail and 74% of third. Damn!

And with movies like The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo promoting a bisexual lifestyle for women, no wonder according to the Gallup Poll over 20% of women are either gay or have checked it out. And 21% of men. Wowie.

If you see Rooney Mara‘s sex scene with the hottie that picks her up at a bar, you’d switch too. I was pulling for Daniel Craig to win her over though and he kinda did – for a minute anyway.

Women talk about football, men’s asses, money, politics and sex far more openly and often today.

They keep score of how many men they’ve had, how good they were, etc. like we did as single guys. They dress much more like men – in blue jeans and t-shirts – they work out and try and keep up with their bodies like many men today do.

With only a couple female movie stars over 40, they get it.

Their bodies age much faster than guy’s do. In film there are just a few hotties or even stars over 40. Demi Moore rarely works. Madonna will be at the Super Bowl. Cher is over 60 and Meryl Streep may not be a beauty, but she still works alot. There are a couple others, but not many.

With men it’s a truckload. There’s Tom Cruise, Bruce Willis, Johnny Depp, Brad Pitt, Leonardo Dicaprio. Hell, we even have an over 65 group lead by Harrison Ford, Robert De Niro and Al Pacino, to name a few. All are still stars with most of them well over 50.

So women can see this and now they want to compete.

Women cuss like sailors, drink like bikers and have sex longer than we ever could.

Yep, women have become more our equal but they still have a way to go.

    No Less From A Womanizer/Racist
You are surely not the voice for women’s coming up in the world Craig Glazer. Nice of you to think of us though.

  2. you forgot... says:

Halle Barry, Jennifer Lopez, Gwen Stefani, Salma Hayek, Sandra Bullock, Courtney Cox, Jennifer Aniston, Sigourney Weaver, Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Catrall, Julianne Moore, Julia Roberts, Naomi Watts, Helen Mirren, Diane Lane just to name a few.
They are all working quite a bit. I can’t even remember last thing I saw Bruce Willis in and Al Pacino was last seen in Adam Sandler’s piece of shit?

  3. Todd says:

    Glazer’s Point Is
While some of those name female stars work, they are almost none at the same level as the men. Al Pacino works when he wants too, he is still a big name at age 70 plus, what female has that? I agree women do age faster and their bodies have areas that fall apart quicker. Interesting view though.

    What in the hell?
What Craig Glazer is apparently too stupid to realize is that that issue with older women receiving fewer roles is a flaw in Hollywood, not in their bodies.

What Craig Glazer is apparently too stupid to realize is that don’t achieve equality by being the same as men. They achieve equality be being treated as equal to men. This is the fallacy of thinking that equality means sameness. I would expect a journalist to have a slightly more sophisticated understanding of equality than I did in third grade.

What Craig Glazer is apparently too stupid to realize is that he has just made a list of “stuff that taken together has no bearing on anything of import at all.”

Unfortunately, I know nothing of Craig Glazer beyond what’s been evidenced in this article. So maybe this is a joke? Maybe he’s being ironic in a very poorly-executed manner. Either way, it looks like kcconfidential.com should more literally honor the adjectival portion of their name with an opinion this poorly informed and an article this poorly written.

  5. sean hogge says:

    What in the typos?
Here are the missing or mis-typed words from my previous post. You can put them in wherever you like!

    women
    by (not be)

  6. Damian says:

… and they wear pants. PANTS!! Just like MEN! What the shit has happened to this world??

  7. Hearne Christopher says:

    Good catch

  8. TOby says:

Petticoats are a thing of the past
Women nowadays wear pants and they talk about what is going on in the bedroom. That is how you know they are large and in charge.

  9. @ Todd says:

Al Pacino can work when he wants to and he picks movies like this?
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qHKTXrUnN58
What does that say about Al Pacino. And don’t say it show’s he has a sense of humor. If he had a sense of humor he would at least do a good comedy. And I’m not a Sandler hater, this movie is just pure trash!

  10. Orphan of the Road says:

    One name
    Sally Rand

  11. mermaid says:

    Oh don’t get me started…
I should write an article but I’ll keep it to this. The reason it seems this way Craig is because men don’t act like men anymore! Men are pathetic these days. Women have to be stronger because men have gotten weaker. There is still that rare 1% that still act like men should but that’s it. Hmm yeah the more I think about this piece prepare for a comeback!

  12. Craig Glazer says:

People This Is A Story About Women Coming UP
Why all the anger, its a positive story about women! Up til now they have only been sex objects and baby making housecleaners…thats all…now they have a shot…dig it…baby.,

  13. Orphan of the Road says:

    Miss Beverly Jone
Had a PhD in physics and she went to town to look for some work
Everywhere she applied, she was told she qualified as a secretary or a clerk
The word got out on the day she was born but she was 20-years getting the news
    And the I-don’t-know-where-I’m-going-but-I’m-going-nowhere-in-a-hurry blues

Mermaid I look forward to your response with knuckles dragging. I agree with eenie weenie theory which is taught in Women’s School. I confess everything I know about women I learned from my guitar.

  14. sean hogge says:

This is a story about inferiority
No, Craig Glazer, this is not a story about women coming up. This is an article that makes the case that women can only be equivalent if they do every men do. That’s not equality. Women don’t improve themselves by becoming more like men. What don’t you get about that?

Equality for women is not about how many of them do any certain activity. It has nothing to do with their appearance or sexual appetite. It has nothing to do with what celebrities are getting roles after you have declared them ugly.

I understand that you’re old. You’re fighting the miseducation of a generation that didn’t know anything better than the bigotry and sexism of the wisdom handed to you. You were probably rebellious against this old-fashioned regime, weren’t you? You totally grew your hair out and wore crazy clothing. You didn’t listen to that Lawrence Welk bullshit, you like the Stones and the Boomtown Rats. You read fuckin’ Kerouac! That was a step forward. What you seem to have forgotten that since you haven’t learned anything in the last 30 years or so, you’ve now become just as impotent and retarded to today’s world as your parents and grandparents were when they were telling you to cut your hair and stop smoking dope.

I mean, don’t get me wrong, this is hilariously juvenile and wonderfully inhuman. As a piece of absurdist mockery of a common sentiment, it’s almost too perfect. The problem is that I don’t think you wrote it that way, because you just make the absurd statements without mocking them. This is irony without satire. So either you’re a chauvinist dick, or you’re a terrible comedic writer. I’ll leave it to you to let us know which one we should be laugh at you for.

  15. devils advocate says:

    good…no…Great column Glazer
i work in education, and women are thick in it. they love it when girls (non traditionals) excel in fields that they are not normally in (i teach construction, and architecture) it gives the old ladies a new sense of power to know that the new girls are getting a hand up ( there are endless grants and handouts for girls now) we have to remember (as glazer pointed out) that the girls in charge now 50 and 60+ had no choices for occupations other than to be a nurse and a teacher until not too long ago. also, women out live us men by 10+ years…..(i cant believe that 21% of men have tried being on the other team) wow!

  16. expat says:

some stuff glazer saw in a movie
This would be news if men didn’t still run everything and dominate every industry that matters.

That Gallup Poll sounds pretty dubious. If it’s true there would be 67 million gay men in America — there aren’t.

  17. Merle Tagladucci says:

I think Craig went to see Girl With The Dragon Tattoo and it made him think he could articulate whatever thoughts the movie made him think of in regard to the evolution of women characters in film. Thoughts that may have been original, say, 20 years ago. I don’t believe Craig has the cinematic vocabulary or knowledge to rattle off the litany of progressive female characters in film that started popping up in the early 90s, as evidenced by his dated name dropping of Cher, which says it all.

  18. Smartman says:

    I Get It
Once again your brilliant intellectuosity has been predisposedly determinized to be nonexistentantuated. Wherefore your presciently formilitarized and culturally disenfranchised femininetical observations are choosed to posit as factuality baselined against more formaltently theorizational concepts.

  19. Craig Glazer says:

    Sorry Pitch
Gee I’m dated, huh….really….I will tell him when he comes in…..

  20. mermaid says:

Another thought on this insane article of meaningless trivel
I really want a hot pink mosquito gun and I want to go to The Bullet Hole and learn to shoot a perfect shot. That will make me stronger and I can shoot any SOB who tries to rob me or anything. I’m dead serious. All those pics of the girls with the guns reminded me I have really wanted to do that. Powerful would be holding it shooting it and making the perfect shot.

  21. Cartman says:

This is all well and good…
BUT WHO IN THE HELL IS GONNA GET THEIR ASS IN THAT KITCHEN AND MAKE ME SOME PIE?!!

  22. Orphan of the Road says:

    But mermaid
    You might break a nail!

Then again the only mass murderer I ever knew was a young woman.

There are a group of ladies in Missouri who have their own gun club. That is way cool IMHO.

Robin tells me of a wedding years ago where a couple of the bridesmaids were in the bathroom before the wedding comparing their handguns.

While you research you reply mermaid, give Bonnie Parker’s The Trail’s End a read.

  23. Maxwell says:

    I love mermaid
I wish she would have more article posted here….. she is awesome.

Why doesnt Mermiad have more articles posted here?

  24. mermaid says:

    Maxwell…
I’m glad someone loves me. I’m coming back soon.

  25. Craig Glazer says:

    Who Doesn’t Love You Mermaid
Debbie we all love ya! Write something fun, we can’t wait….you go get ’em lady….I know this will be YOUR year!

  26. harley says:

    wtf…glaze now dr. phil?
since when does glaze get off impersonating dr. phil about a story about women. Sorry glaze…i wouldn’t let you give out
any advice because you look at women as a piece of meat. Like the national geographic show in the jungle when the
lion stakes out the herd of antelope waiting to pounce on the one who’s the weakest…the slowest…the easiest to
    attack…thats you.
Women don’t want to be equal. They still love to be hunted…but not for a one night stand. Unfortunately you go after those
wanting a one nigth stand but those are the trashy ones. Sure..i’ve had my fun times..but learned that the ones that
sleep with you on those one night stands are not just doing it with you..they’re doing it with many other.
You feel comfortable roaming the bars for 1 nighters…and i gues to each his own…but all you end up with is
a “one nighter”…not someone with style or class or someone you’d feel proud to bring to a nice event.
Some maysay they want to be equal..but they’re deifinitely in the minority. Women want the old style of love..
being called..being approached…being romanced…that’s still what they all want. Problem is that in this city
(from my girl-friends opinions) the guys in this town are pussies. They won’t approach a woman..they are too
timid…too afraid…they want the woman to come to them…yet women still feel very uncomfortable making the first move.
Despite all you claim to know about women…you really can’t know too much. you just want a piece of meat.
Sure the divorce rate is high..sure many women are unsattisfied with their relationships..thats not the mans fault
all the time…its our soceity that tells us the grass is always greener on the other side of the fense..that always
strive for something bigger and btter…that being honest and truthful and loyal is not important to anyone now adays.
There are people who believe in being faithful and honest…maybe its not you..i do’nt know…but women are no
different today than they were 50 years ago. Sure they may have stopped waiting for a guy..maybe they realized
they could live a fullfilled life without a man….maybe they rather have sex with a woman…if i had the answers
I ‘d bee on tv taking dr. phils spot.
Don’t fool yourself…find a woman who has style and class and see if she falls into the categories you
wrote about. Sure they work out..shure they want to be satisfied in bed….but thats always been the
case..its just now they fel they can voice an opinion. I’m sure you’re quite satisfied with your life..i never
tell someone how to live theirs…but i can tell you that theres plenty of great women out there waiting for
a man who don’t fall into all those categories you talked about.
I ‘d be interested to hear maureen?/mermaid/or another womans opinion….

  27. Orphan of the Road says:

    A woman without a man
Is like a fish without a bicycle. Or at least that’s what the ladies in Deadly Nightshade told me.

The Glaze has more credibility than Dr Phil, just as the Hell’s Angels have more family values than the GOP.

A friend who is on #2 said he mentioned to his wife he was thinking about becoming a polygamist. The Lovely Linda replied, that’s great. i”ll have someone to go shoping with now.

  28. Jack Canfield says:

Does anybody have harley’s e mail?

There’s a book in that guy!!

  29. harley says:

    thanks jack….
appreciate the comment…i do have a book in mind…will give you details later…

  30. Duh... says:

That might not be the real Jack Canfield.
    But then again…
