Lets all be honest here, it doesn’t matter where we are going. We are going to drink shit watered down drinks and wake up with a hangover and a face smelling of 45 year old pussy. mazel tov

  2. Lance the Intern says:

    Jardine’s
Event Calendar states that Beena’s been fired and that there are new owners.

    Here’s the link:
    http://www.jardines4jazz.com/files/calender_popup.php?jyear=2011&jmonth=12&jdate=31

  3. Lance the Intern says:

    Hmmm
Now the link doesn’t state anything about new owners (it had previously identified “Robert and Joseph” as the new owners). It still states that Beena has been fired, however.

  4. mike says:

    response to Lance
You are right. It does say that. I still don’t understand, however, how an owner can be fired. Maybe bought out or foreclosed on but not fired. I would wait for a confirmation of that since their website has had some strange things on it recently.

  5. Lance the Intern says:

    OK
So…I emailed Beena (her email address is posted on the Jardine’s website) asking if the statement was true. Her (rather cryptic) response was “Check it [the website] again”.

Here’s the text of the original message:
“”New Years celebration with Pete Cole, Chris Clark and the gang $5 cover Special menu
Beena is fired . Its a brand new year!!! Please come and welcome the new owners Robert and Joseph and carry the jazz tradition!!
    7 to 1 am” ”

Here’s the text of the message as it currently stands:
“Pete Cole Quartet with the one and only Chris Clark on Piano $5 cover
Come and celebrate with us!!! Its gonna be a party Come say hello to Robert,Joseph, Armida,Antonio, Pat and the entire gang!!! Beena is fired.Lets toast 2012 with a bang
    8 to 1”

too bad…the old employees/dave and marilyn are still to
be paid? What a shame. I willnever go there..no matter who owns it. Beenie will be
inducted into the kc hall of shame as will her lover hearne. Happy new year

  7. Mike says:

    response to Harley
As I understand it, Jardine’s is an LLC and whatever financial claims that exist would be against Jardine’s LLC and could still be collected if there are sufficient assets. Beena, if she has sold it, would not be personally liable. The 15 still could make a claim against Jardine’s. This may be interesting in the next few days.

  8. Lance the Intern says:

    At this point
It could be someone with access to the Jardine’s website calendar f*cking with Beena or us. She ain’t really saying one way or the other.

  9. expat says:

I’m sure it was a typo and they meant Beena is fired UP. FIRED UP!

  10. Super Dave says:

    Interesting
Well my contact at The Phoenix tell me the The Phoenix owner was approached by Breena to either buy her out or loan her the money to reopen. The Phoenix owner considered it but figured it need a complete revamp and wasn’t up to doing that at this time.

So sounds like cash or lack of it might be the real issue here.

  11. Hearne says:

Looks like you guys are having some fun here….
    Event calendar, huh?

  12. Super Dave says:

    Well what it says
What it says on the website least what my eyes saw.

But then fired could mean more than one thing. Then again does anything about this place make sense anymore?

You are the inside man you tell us what it means Hearne.

  13. TOby says:

    Menu pushin’
Funny that KCC was arguing just two weeks ago that they have no advertising / promotional relationship with Jardines, that they only wrote about it on the site 150 plus times because its “newsworthy.” What news source just straight-up prints the price and contents of the new years dinner special for someone they don’t have a special relationship with? Or you going to have an article next week that says “amid rumors of a shake-up, the chicken ceaser salad at 7 dollars a plate is rumoured to be just what the doctor ordered for your taste buds this new year!”

    Breaking!

  14. xxMillerTimexx says:

    Thanks TOby for the laugh
“amid rumors of a shake-up, the chicken ceaser salad at 7 dollars a plate is rumoured to be just what the doctor ordered for your taste buds this new year!”

Made me laugh out loud. Great stuff.

  15. Brian says:

Now that is some unbiased reporting
    A. Don’t care
    B. Is this how the site is funded?
    C. If this is just a blog between friends, so be it and we’ll leave it at that. But quit trying to sell it as something more if this is what I get when I pop in.

  16. Lance the Intern says:

    Yeah Hearne…
The event calendar. I’d heard that Jardine’s was having a NYE event and I thought I check the event calendar, just to make sure. It says what it says…
I can understand not believing anything you read on THIS website (Don Harmon, anyone?), but on a website that’s supposed to actually draw in customers, you’d think the information would be factually correct.

  17. David Hayden says:

    Jardines has been sold.
Robert and Joseph are the new owners. Beena will stay on for a transfer period. After a dozen posts on the story, Hearne gets scooped on the story everyone has been waiting for.

  18. nunya says:

    Good luck…..
At least the two, fist time bar owners, will get an introduction to the business by having her stay on to “show them the slopes”. Hope there investment fuels some real information or just a trip to Everest. I only come to this site to touch up on my high level math skills. Takes me just two tries to get my math problem right. At least I only have a math problem. Makes my nose feel better.

  19. JazzFan says:

    Jardine’s Sold
Jardine’s has indeed been sold. This site was scooped by real reporting at The Pitch. The story, including photos of the new owners, is at http://www.pitch.com/fatcity/archives/2011/12/30/jardines-beena-out-new-owners-joseph-fulgenzi-and-robert-mccain-in

  20. Hearne Christopher says:

You don’t think I knew this off-the-record days ago? How do you think I wrote the NYE opening story?

There’s still a lot more to this story, much of which will likely never be told.

  21. Hearne Christopher says:

    Make that Don Harman

  22. Hearne Christopher says:

    Tody, Toby…

How could KCC argue there was no advertising relationship when they’ve been an advertiser for two years? The fact that Jardine’s would reopen New Year’s Eve was news. I knew they rest of the news but off the record and I was traveling on vacation.

I think the doctor needs to order you something a little stronger than chicken caesar

  23. Hearne Christopher says:

Real reporting, huh? They walked into the Pitch offices to buy advertising.

  24. Hearne Christopher says:

    Yes, sir!

  25. paulwilsonkc says:

David, let me take a little of Hearnes side here…
You know me, you know I’ve been supporting the staff that was there and you know I’ve been trying to buy Jardines for, what, 4 weeks now? There are still some things that have me scratching my head raw!

    1. Hearne knew a lot that really was off the record
    2. I knew a lot I couldn’t talk about out of respect for several people
    3. Charles Ferruzza, and I like his writing, but he really got a story by going to the right elevator at the right time. Its that simple, and found two guys signing a contract for ads. Hearne knew more than has been released but was off the record.
    4. The million dollar question is; why did I get a final draft contract at 10am yesterday morning for the purchase, if its really sold. There in….. lies the real mystery. There are “deals” and there are “Deals”.

It ain’t over till the fat lady sings…. and so far she’s not on stage.
