The Mighty Casey is once again at bat. In this case, Casey is actually Blanc Burgers Bottles, the field of play Groupon. And for the third time in a little more than a year the local gourmet burger and fine dining powehouse is ioff the what is likely to be a record-setting start.
"They’re at 14,000 sold right now," says Blanc spokesdude Will Gregory. "But by 7 p.m. they should be well into the 15,000 range. They hold the previous Groupon record for 14,000 and change sold."
Here’s the deal….
For $10 Groupon buyers can get $20 worth of "gourmet burgers and drinks" at Blanc.
The quote/unquote "fine print": The coupon – or Groupon – expires January 26, 2012, is limited to one per table, dine in customers only, dinner only (not lunch) and is not valid during "happy hour."
That’s a somewhat significant dialing back of the deal from last fall’s record-setting Blanc Groupon. The fine print limits then were one per table or two per table of four dine-in only, no cash back and not valid with other offers.
Blanc also dialed it back from a maximum of five per customer to three.
Blanc’s Groupon deal is part of a National Burger Week promotion.
"They picked one restaurant per city and they picked Blanc for Kansas City," Gregory says. "They sold 10,000 Friday before lunch."
And by early Saturday afternoon a new Groupon record of 17,706 deals had been set!
"This one is going to go through the entire weekend," Gregory says. "So they could sell 20,000."

I made a bet with a friend of mine that we could go into Blanc without a Groupon Coupon and get the same damn deal, which we did, and it’s actually better for Blanc not having to give Groupon their cut. They don’t need Groupon anymore. Bring it in house and put more money in your pocket you overpriced ground beef pounding whores.

Been there and I wasn’t that impressed for the price. A lot of hole in the wall bars make a better burger cheaper with a frosty cold draft to go with it.

Here’s a better deal that you can’t pass up! BRGR who in my opinion is far superior to Blanc has a deal that if you give them 10 dollars for a 10 dollar gift card they will give that 10 dollars to Joplin! They have sold hundreds so this is a really great charity for Joplin plus you get to spend your 10 for the best burger in town!

Blanc is fine, I do really like the fries. SuperDave and mermaid are totally right. We only go with a Groupon and stay as close as possible to the Groupon amount as it is not worth full price.
