Good news…
Stanford‘s has added a second show this Thursday May 26th for Carlos Menica. His first show is a sell out, so we’ve added a 9:45 p.m. show as well.
Carlos starred in Mind of Mencia, The Heartbreak Kid w/ Ben Stiller, and was even on In Living Color with Damon Wayans and Jim Carey. The last time Mencia did KC he played the Midland and sold it out a couple years back. Now he’s getting ready for a new TV special, so he’s stopping by Stanfords’ because he did so many shows in Westport back in the late 90’s.
Mencia‘s a great live act.
And this summer will be full of big name stars at Stanford’s, including Reno 911 star Carlos Alazraqui, Hangover co-star Bryon Callen (also Mad TV and Oz on HBO) and fan favorite Bobby Slayton.
Plus a one time only Cheech and Chong show in late summer. This will be their only club appearance.
They only do theaters now, but since we are prison brothers – hah – no we’ve been pals for years, me and Tommy Chong. Great guy. Also the gorgeous April Macie, comedy central star and now nearly fulltime at The Palm in Vegas, red hair, blue eyes. Yes, it will be a comedy filled summer.

Good Picks Glazer
I follow comedy. This is a good list Glazer. I came out and saw Jim Jeffries about two months back. Loved him, just fantastic. Is he coming back soon? He is my ‘new’ favorite comic of all. What a dirty little bastard, and a genius! Let me know when if so, thank you.

IN All Fairness, Mencia is a big Talent
So he is said to steal jokes. So was Robin Williams, Rogan,on and on. The truth is once you become a top top comic, meaning in the million dollar a year group, which Carlos has been for years, people hate on you. I am friends with Joe and Carlos, both are at my agency,CAA, the biggest one. They dropped Joe over that little outburst back in 04 or so, not Carlos. Joe did fine with his TV show and so did Mencia with his, both off the air after many good years, thats TV, it just goes that way. However people hate on Larry The Cable Guy, his jokes are 9th grade and toilet stuff( he made 94 million in 02 a record for comics), Lisa Lamponelli(just racist stuff, anyone can do that) in the top three female earners for five years now, several million a year,Chong, he’s over the hill, he and Cheech did 150 shows in two years 09/010 sold them all out(made 7 million each), Carrot Top, he’s a joke and wierd looking, makes 5 million a year in Vegas alone,Robin Williams, don’t need to tell you on that one,JJ Walker, he sucks over the hill, has worked for three decades on TV and in live shows, has made millions over the last few years, and so on. People on top take the hit in everything. Mencia has 6 hours of material and he wrote 95% of it himself. Carlos may have used other peoples ideas some on purpose some just had same idea at same time, it happens. He is a hard worker, very professional and a straight up decent guy. He always gives Stanfords props as one of his two favorite clubs of alltime. He worked Westport maybe ten times in the 90’s always a pleasure to work with….so I wouldn’t be so fast to jump his shit, we should all have his career, its been a nice ride.

I worked with Cheech & Chong at the Main Point back in the 70s. Two nicer guys you’ll probably never find.
