OTC: Bulldog Bob Fescoe Loses His Bite When It Comes To KU

“K-State fans are not happy with me and the radio station for our perceived bias of KU. I didn’t think we’d have to go into these explanations on why we’ve mocked K-State. They were supposed to (win the Big 12) and they have completely underachieved!”
Shan Shariff, 610 AM
GH: The hot question being debated between Kansas and K-State fans is why isn’t KU’s Tyshawn Taylor’s suspension being critiqued with the same voracity as KSU’s Curtis Kelly’s reported investigation and hearing was the previous week? Read on for Bob Fescoe’s crimson and blue reasoning.

“This is two different stories but K-State fans won’t hear that. The Curtis Kelly thing was different! That was three things that happened boom, boom, boom – all in the same season. Tyshawn Taylor’s were one his freshman year, one his sophomore year and one his junior year. They were more spread out.”
Bob Fescoe, 610 AM
GH: Yeah, Fescoe really said that. The Bulldog might be the best thing to happen to the OTC since Neil Smith.

“I’m going to sound like a whiney Kansas fan but I don’t care because I am a Kansas fan. So I don’t care. I don’t care that Texas beat Kansas.”
Bob Fescoe, upset that ESPN’s Joe Lunardi has seeded Texas above Kansas in his latest bracket guess, 610 AM
GH: Fescoe long ago decided to present his show as one that has little credibility by informing his audience he is a huge Kansas fan and by repeatedly ripping K-State and Missouri. His tweets are often laced with K-State and Mizzou bashing fodder. This is not what a market the size of Kansas City should want or expect from a sports talk show host.

“I think this Tyshawn Taylor incident is very indicative of society itself. We demand answers even when it’s none of our business.”
Bob Fescoe, 610 AM
GH: It might not be Joe Blow’s business but Fescoe is a sports talk show host! His job is not to protect the Kansas basketball program and sit idly when Bill Self tells him to. His job is to dig for the story and deliver answers, reasons and rumors as to why KU suspended their starting point guard with two weeks left in the regular season.

“I’m not going to get into the (Tyshawn Taylor) incident. I’m not going to speculate on this situation because I’m not going to participate in irresponsible journalism. Because I went to the Kansas School of Journalism. I’m not going to get into speculating what this individual may or may not have done.”
Bob Fescoe, 610 AM
GH: Fescoe was more than happy to discuss, speculate and laugh at Curtis Kelly and K-State a week ago. But since Tyshawn wears his alma mater’s uniform, he strikes a stalwart pose of character, integrity and two-faced buffoonish homerism.

“I don’t think it’s responsible journalism when you’re on the air to say he was involved with drugs or alcohol.”
Bob Fescoe, 610 AM
GH: Which is exactly what many were speculating about Curtis Kelly last week. I don’t remember Fescoe making the same arguments on the Wildcats’ behalf.

“I don’t think it’s responsible on my part when it involves a student athlete. I don’t know what (Tyshawn did) and nobody knows. I talked to people close to the program and they don’t know what it is!”
Bob Fescoe, 610 AM
GH: Newsflash to Fescoe – somebody knows. And if you are the bulldog reporter you promote yourself to be you too should know – and be telling us what you know.

“I’m not embarrassed by this (Tyshawn Taylor suspension)! Maybe some Kansas fans are, that’s their prerogative but I’m not.”
Bob Fescoe, 610 AM
GH: Fescoe should be embarrassed by his homerism and unwillingness to perform his job as a KU journalism major – not what some college kid does or doesn’t do.

“There is no investigation or hearing involving Tyshawn Taylor.”
Bob Fescoe, comparing Taylor’s suspension to the reported Curtis Kelly hearing, 610 AM
GH: How does Fescoe know? He just told us he (and no one else) knows anything about this incident. KU has not made any statements I’m aware of that deny an investigation or hearing. In Curtis Kelly’s case, his head coach adamantly denied both ever occurred. I didn’t believe Frank but at least he said the reports were false. Self has said little more than Taylor has been suspended and that he’s disappointed in him.

“It could be not eating the correct meal on the dietary plan. It could be wearing the red wristband when it was supposed to be blue.”
Bob Fescoe, speculating on the possible reasons for Tyshawn Taylor’s suspension, 610 AM
GH: Maybe we should change Bulldog’s nickname to Shitzu.

Bob Fescoe and Tyshawn Taylor ….
What a pair. Doubt you could come up with a respectable IQ if you combined theirs. Point Plankn.

This is Bob’s last stop in broadcasting. I think he realizes he’s going to be out of a job pretty soon and he’s going to need his kU ties to find employment.

  2. Jip says:

    Wow
Proud bias, stirring the pot, lack of credibility….

It’s obvious that Bob Fescoe is trying to be another Kevin Keitzman. The problem is, he doesn’t have half of Keitzman’s talent.

  3. DonkeyPunch says:

Enough about Fescoe, what about the rack?
GH, I frankly am disappointed in you this morning. Today’s story is not about the game last night, Taylor’s suspension, Fescoe’s homerism. It’s about the rack sitting behind Bob Knight. I love the way said lady moved her hair when the camera was on Knight so the national audience could see her marvels. Also spotted at AFH last night was the Lady in Red who you sir so proudly posted a magnificant pic of a few weeks ago.

  4. Doog says:

    Remember this one?
    God bless those ESPN cameras.

Let’s go back a year….remember this girl for the KU@Texas game. Hell, I stopped watching the game and just sat at my TV looking for crowd shots…

    Shitzu?
    More like Shit Head.

  6. MrOlathe says:

    Fescoe
is awful. But he’s no different in his bias than KK. He’s just a more obvious. What exactly was his stance on Curtis Kelly last week? Most of us probably don’t know because we don’t listen to his show. But the limited amount I listened to KK it sounded as though there was a lot of smoke there: a hearing, 3 strikes and your out, etc. Maybe it was a bigger issue than TT.

  7. Gerald Bostock says:

    we have a winner
…of the Jason Whitlock Blinded by the Bling of Derrick Thomas Award….congratulations, Bob Fescoe; don’t let us confuse your with the facts.

  8. Guy Who Says What Others Think says:

    610 AM = Talentless douchebags
The staff at 810 may be 610’s equal when it comes to douchebaggery, but 610 just doesn’t have any real talent over there. Nick “Pencil Neck Geek” Wright, Blowjob Bob Fiasco, and the rest of those blowhards are an embarrassment to radio. 610 needs to permanently close their doors.

  9. Merle Tagladucci says:

    Blowjob Bob Fiasco
Blowjob Bob Fiasco…now that’s good. Well done.
