Hearne: The Truth, The Whole Truth & Nothing But The Truth from Gary Lezak

Seems like just the other day…

That Channel 41 weather wonk Gary Lezak laid down a 13 inches of snow long range forecast for this winter’s total snowfall.

His take for today:

"We have had a major snow storm with blizzard conditions," Lezak says. "The total accumulation will end up in the 8 to 12 inches area and it will end around 10 p.m. tonight. It will be 10 below zero Thursday and this will not be the last snowstorm of the season."

As for Lezak’s 13 inch total snowfall – versus 40-plus inches last year, "Well sometimes you get it right and sometimes you get it wrong," he says. "And this year for my long range forecast, I got it wrong. But for this storm, I got it right. So next year I’ll learn from this and move on."

    THATS WHAT SHE SAID
    “in the 8 to 12 inches” …thats what he said ; )

They called this storm pretty well, although scaring people nearly half to death, 36 hours before hand, does not help matters

    Lay lff Lezak
Nobody works harder or does a better job calling the weather in this town.

What…Busby…getting forecasts off Accuweather and just going for average all the time. Mike T…drunk at the bar-b-q fest wherever? Katie Horner…next.

Lezak may be reaching with the “LRC”, but, man, he’s up at night working on it, and usually right, while the others are just getting a paycheck.

My biggest issue with Lezak is that he’ll be the first to beat his chest and tell everyone when he’s right. But when he’s wrong he just shrugs it off like it’s no big deal. Let’s face it, with the computer models and radars and satellite pics is it really all the hard to forecast the weather? No.
