Hearne: 2010 a Queer Year to Remember

The publication that brands itself as "Kansas City’s Voice For The LGBT And Allied Communities." Fittingly, Camp‘s Holiday Sneer issue features a giant photo of Ron Megee channeling Joan Crawford‘s "Mommy Dearest" for What was the gay highlight of 2010the Unicorn‘s "A Very Joan Crawford Christmas."

But the fun stuff goes down in Jimmy Newsum’s lookback on the past year.

"Between the ups of Modern Family winning an Emmy and a federal judge overturning Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell,and the downs of Rentboy becoming a household name – thanks George Rekers! – and the premier of Logo’s shamefully delicious The A-List: New York, our stomachs are in knots."

The gay highlight of 2010:

"Ricky Martin coming out," says BeBe Zahara Benet, the season one winner of RuPaul’s Drag  Race.

"Florida lifting its ban on gay adoption," says Lesbian porn star Jincey Lumpkin.

"Manhunt introducing its mobile app," stewardess to the stars Pam Ann adds.

Biggest star of 2010: "Kurt on Glee," says dance music icon Kristine W.

2010 will forever go down as the year of:  "How to be fabulous on a tight budget," Kristine W says.  "The revival of the gay dance floor," adds Lumpkin

What do you hope to accomplish in 2011: "Deep throat during double penetration," Pam Ann says.

And finally, who do you hope disappears into the gay abyss in 2011?

"Sarah Palin," says four out of the five gay luminaries polled. "That Alaska snow bitch," Pam Ann Adds.
