Glazer: Humble Scribe Throws in the Towel, Decares Chiefs Season DOA

Turn out the lights, the party’s over….

There goes that song again.

It’s so god damn sad and unfair.

Chiefs star quarterback, Matt Cassel just had an emergency appendicitis operation and is likely out for the year.

Without The Franchise our season is over. We end 8-8 or 9-7. No playoffs.

So the Chargers just got their Xmas Gift. Brodie Croyle has never won a game he ever started. While he is maybe decent, and maybe – ah hell – this is so tough. Do we have the worst luck on the planet? God damn it! I am so upset! Are you?

There’s not much else to say.

When a team battling for position with other issues, ones they can overcome, loses its star, well maybe.

Unless of course Brodie is Cinderella.

The Fat Lady is Warming up…..I am so, so sorry, Chiefs fans. I just cannot believe it….we must be cursed.  No Coach of the Year, no first playoff win in 20 years or so…what did KC do to deserve this? Christ…….well chin up…."there’s always next year!"

Say all the losers. Like us.

I hated writing this, hated it! By the way Merry Xmas and Happy New Year….and no I won’t be reporting on any more Chiefs games this season. Barring a miracle win…..I make KC a 20 point underdog Sunday now, hell we were at 7 already.

When will it get better?

    CHECK YOUR FACTS!
You may want to check your facts, Craig. Looks like Adam Teicher got the beset of you. Cassel will only be out two weeks in a best-case scenario, and he should be back with the team this week, albeit not necessarily practicing.

So, please tell us again why you feel the need to write sports when this so-called "blog" already has a decent sports scribe in Greg Hall?

    What?
I know very little about sports – especially football – but I do know that his emergency appendectomy on Wednesday doesn’t necessarily mean he’s out for the year. The surgery was performed laparoscopically, which considerably shortens recovery time. Not to mention that it didn’t even burst. I give it two weeks max. Like I said, I don’t know much about sports, but I do know that football season will still be in full swing come two weeks.

Don’t be such a drama queen, Mr. Glazer. Everything will be okay.

    … buck up, Glazer…
… geez, why the Debbie Downer ?………………… Croyle really isn’t THAT bad. Give Weis a little credit, he’ll craft a game plan around Brodie ….. Croyle never started a game with this offense …. the offense weapons we have now are a vast improvement over what we had the last time he played, the offensive line is better, and he has a week to prepare … it’s not like he’ll be cold off the bench ……………….. I swear you’re sooo negative ……. buck up, dude…

  5. theKCeye says:

Stick to the coke stories, Craig
Big Ben had this happen in 2006 and missed one game. I expect Cassel to miss two. Brodie isn’t that bad, either, and we have the league’s best rush offense (and that was the case early in the year, too, when Cassel was playing like shit). Look, to win playoff games, we need Cassel. But Brodie can win one of the next two and with a healthy Cassel we can still finish 11-5. ……………..And Craig.. saying Cassel is "likely out for the year" is like me saying you are "likely to make a sports blog worth reading". I mean, it COULD happen… but it’s not going to.

    Crodye Broyle…HuH
I never listen to sports radio….but so happen I switched from XM to 81 to hear KK having a baby about MC’s missed practice….I feel sorry for Matt tough break. But part of me loves the drama—-this is like JV V. Varisty….Wichita St. V. KU …all the pressure is on the Chargers……I agree with mark x …I think Wiess goes to work Hank Stram style and rolls out the Single T or some shit. WOW get well Matt.

beautiful…and with brains. Spells correctly. Great grammar and
punctuation. Big vocabulary. Knows big medical terms and
has a big overview capability. Maria…where were you 20 years
    ago.
And best of all you were the first woman on kcc to shoot down
Glazers ego and belief that he knows everything.
And on top of that you call the guy a "drama queen".
You are my dream girl…. you can come and prepare me for an
emergency apendectomy any time you want!
Wow….hot…hot…hot….maybe when holly star retires you can
take her place at 38 the spot…or fill in for Katy Horner when she
    get pregnant again….WOW

  9. Rainbow Man says:

I am totally calm about this… and here is why:
    1. Cassel has had a great year but he was due for an off game anyway.
    2. This is a HUGE game for Croyle. This is not only about the Chiefs season, but also Croyle’s career. I think Croyle will come. He has to.
    3. We aren’t beating the Chargers in a Shootout.. Lots of Run….
    4. Remember… The MVPs here are Haley, Weis, and Crennel. Weis plays hurt…
