Bit by bit the Big 12 is chipping away at any second thoughts this Nebraska fan had about leaving the conference. Of course a security consultant is going to tell you to stay away: there’s no downside to that advice for him, but if he tells you it’s OK to go and something bad happens, he’s out of business. Fans who would make death threats against a conference commissioner are about the most pathetic thing I’ve ever seen, except for the commissioner who takes them seriously.

Only one thing wrong with Bebee’s story. If he was so uncertain about his safety or the safety of one of his underlings, why would he allow a crew of Big XII officials to officiate the game? If his fears were valid, wouldn’t they ultimately be in the greatest danger since most of the anger was directed at the conduct of their colleagues? Will the Big XII North trophy be delivered to Lincoln via FedEx or USPS ground? Will somebody from the Big XII be in KC today to present MU with their "co-championship" Big XII North trophy?

I will not miss Nebraska in the Big XII. Reading these fans comments cemented what I already knew and feared. Nebraska fans get their self esteem and apparent worth from their football team. They live it and breathe it. What is discouraging about this situation is that you had "respected people" like Tom Osborne and Harvey Pearlman seemingly encouraging this kind of behavior, over a freaking football game. This is beyond entertainment. Are there any adults in Nebraska who will call out behavior like sending death threats over football games. I hope so.
