BILL-full if him-SELF is gonna get visited by the roosting chickens.

Blood from Lew Perkins is still gonna splash on Bill.

Don’t see the Jayhawks getting past the Sweet Sixteen this year, lots of disappointment in Lawrence and a new job for Bill in 2012.

How can you make a prediction about the sweet sixteen when the season hasn’t even started?

Classless article? Sorry, please point me in the direction of KU hate in this article. Thanks.

And Smartman, it will be interesting to see how KSU fans handle bitter disappointment if their team of the century fails to win the Big 12, yet alone make the Final Four.

Fuck ’em, smartman. Greg is the authority on all things sports in KC. If you don’t like smartman and me, then go to Hall.

Shit…not past the Sweet Sixteen? But at least in the tournament? A LOT more than most teams can say…

Oh but yeah, they are expanding the field to 4,768 this season. Hell, Washburn might even get in this year…

A basketball coach could lead the KU football team to more wins than Turner Gill can? Ouch. Trifecta ouch, in fact. As for Selby’s eligibility determination, I think it’s actually the head referee from the Chiefs/Texans game who’s mulling that one over. He’s holding another conference with his fellow officials as we speak. He’ll let us know — when he feels like it.

No coachspeak my ass — calling his team an “athletic team” is code for saying they are a bunch of non-physical pussies. Watch this team get pushed all over the floor.

Screw Entercom — I wish Alden and MU would negotiate a deal with someone else. Getting pushed to 1660 AM is a complete joke. I called 980 AM at kickoff of the Illinois game and the guy answering the phones was pissed at management because he was getting cussed up and down with non-stop phone calls. I wasn’t mad it him because I knew it wasn’t his decision. He admitted it was a stupid decision and gladly gave out the contact info for the programming director, who made the decision.

KSU will be very good this year but will miss Dominique Sutton badly. His defense will be missed. Don’t underestimate the loss of Denny. His speed was hard to defend

Uh, he’s all about coach-speak. “Marcus Morris is our best 4 man, 3 man and 2 man”…that’s complete BS coach speak b/c if that guy is their best 2 man they ain’t winning sh-t this year. I’m anxious to see if he has more than the 10 foot range he had last year. Not to mention now he has to be scoring option 1 or 2…instead of 4 or 5 like last year.

And the fact that brother Marqueeff and him have matching tatoos is the most feminine thing in Big XII history.

Hey boys and girls it’s called REMOTE VIEWING and KARMA. Yeah, I’m goin’ metaphysical on your asses. My charity is smiletrain.org. I’ll put my money where my BIG MOUTH is. Will you?

The sins of the AD will be visited on the ballers this season. So it is writen, so it is said!

Stop acting like you’re suffering from ILEUS?

That was pretty much a dig at KU in everyone of GH’s comments. It’s getting really old. Now, I believe that the Big 12 race is going to be very good. And so is KU. And, when all is said and done, there’s a good chance that Marcus Morris is going to be the Big 12 POY.

@Al. As a 3rd degree black belt I have to avoid fights unless I’m attacked. So if you wanna swing first I guess it’ll be OK. I also have a conceal carry permit so I might just bust a cap in your ass. Nah, probably the knee. That’s fucking painful and funny to watch as people writhe in pain thinking their going to die.

I am intrigued by your choice of spelling come as “cum”. Something you wanna share about you and Bill?

Self usually doesn’t like to pimp his teams pre-season..something just don’t feel right up there.
I agree with Smartman KU athletics is in the funnel right now. Now that they pulled the punch-bowl away from recruiting Sonny Vaccaro style..who knows how good KU BBAll will be?
Shit look at Kentucky–they couldn’t do it with 5 NBA guys. Don’t think I would want to Bank on the Twins and T.Taylor for a deep run in the Tourney.

Anybody else think Martin could coach the Jayhawk football team to at least three conference wins?

    fuckin’ A, Billy Ray.

Why the hell would a coach making 3-4 million a year want to leave a situation where he is King of the campus to beg and plead players making 3 times his salary to pass and play defense? Sounds like a no-brainer to me.

why would self leave…watch him. He doesnt
have the excitement in his eyes…the
    burning passion he’s had before.
In the offseason he’s been battling..not knowing
where his team goes…not knowing about recruits…losing 60% of scoring…and the whole
upheaval of change that probably wore him out.
And I imagine he’s also geting burned out.
Norm stewart said coaching basketball in college
    is 365.24/7…non stop…recruiting…planning..
    recruiting…training…immense amount of travel
and stress…much more than that of a pro
coach. Maybe bill has done his time in lawrence.
It’s not the mostglamorous city to live…
its podunk with no bright lights.
I imagine this last year with new a.d…lew..
    tickets…fights…collins cock…big 12
changes…change…its probably worn him out because you can tell he just doesnt have the
fire that he’s had in previous years…
maybe this is his last ovation in lawrence…
we hope not…he’s classy/smart/and one of the
truly nice guys in college basketball…
hang in there coach…but please take it easyu
    on my tigers this year!

Self is a stud. Pure. Lew who? Ethics violations? Jayhawk nation does not need to care. They got Willy Self. Sold out Allen… Renewed rivalry with KSU.. Heck.. they split with KSU and he is still sweet 16 bound. Stud.

Smartman, I’m not even going to start with you. Sometimes you have some pretty clever things to say but usually you sound like this guy:
    Smartman runs for public office!
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IMgyi57s-A4

Jojo, have you seen the NBA schedule? To say that college basketball is more taxing on a college coach is ridiculous. Sure, college coaching is a 365 day haul but NBA COACHING IS GRUELING! They have, by far, the longest season and if your team goes to the playoffs it becomes a 9-month long season. Self gets to sleep at home way more than he would if he was an NBA coach. You’re overselling the offseason commitment. Recruiting where they actually go on the road is broken down to month long or so sections of the off-season. NBA coaches have already been at it for a month…and will keep going until May or June if they have any success.
There’s a reason why Calipari and Pitino are in the college game…and before you say its because they failed in the pros, that’s not it. Either of those two could have NBA jobs right now. But job security, a short season and $3 million+ salaries make destination coaching jobs better than most pro jobs where you’re hired to be fired.

That said, Bill Self will be coaching the Thunder within 5 years if they’ve yet to win a title with Durant:)

The NBA does not pay better than KU.
The NBA is not as rewarding as KU.

Coach Self will keep on keeping on, coaching at KU, the greatest basketball school in history, no matter what you idiots hope for.

Coach Self has seen the failure of the stupid ass NBA. The NBA is nothing but a bunch of millionaire idiots playing a kids game, there is no coaching those thugs, the NBA is not fun, the NBA is BS.

The jealousy towards KU is now at comical levels. Keep on hating you haters, it is amusing.

“Two weeks before the start of Kansas basketball season, Allen Fieldhouse is not sold out” –KC STAR….according to INTERIM AD he sees this as an opportunity.
OK..Look I’m currently writing big checks to KU let me ramble a little.
Go ahead and walk me thru how we enroll a Sheron or Julian Wright…let me see,Fly em in from MIDWAY..take em to Late Night at Allen–they then hear Rock Chalk and get the chills and move to Jayhawk Towers. By the time Bernadette is through these guys will have trouble getting a Totintos pizza. Bill Self is a basketball shark..you think we can get in a pissing contest with T.Boone,Kroenke,Buss..I doubt it.
After were done cleaning up the Perkins mess we might wish Chalmers 3 went in and out.
