A year ago that loss would not have stung like a bitch. This is what progress feels like, I think. It’s frustrating, but for the first time in a long time, I really feel as if this team might be on the right track.

tough loss…but that should get this team
fired up for 2 wins at home.
    here’s the facts…kc goes 9-7.
Missouri’s another story. Will this defense
make the differnece iin the game against ou
or will mu wilt under the pressure like they
ha ve over the last 60 years.
This game is probably one of the biggest game
for mu fans. The offense is clicking…the defense is playing strong…but is this the
one game that sets mu into a really good
team. We will be in columbia for this game…
hpefully mu wins….and they get over the hump
and the hex of losing to top teams.
prediction: MU 27 OU 24…….I cna only
    pray for this outcome

Bowe must not have a good weed connection in Houston.

Hell, Tasker thought a field goal from that distance was worth four points.

The Chiefs offensive lineman were getting held more than a Boy Scout at a CYO campout.

It was hilarious watching Tasker almost try and convince himself that it was Houston lining up in the neutral zone when the Chiefs committed the false start. I mean, what in the world was he looking at?

The fourth and two pass with just over two minutes left was actually a third and two. But either way, after running for over 200 yards all game, and considering an incomplete pass was going to give the Texans an extra time-out, I’d like to see the ball in Jamaal Charles hands there. Two yards and we’re 4-1. Run the damn ball.

Check my blog about the game here.

Can’t blame this on Matt Cassel. This loss is all on the D. That being said, even with Justin Bieber hair Tom Brady is light years ahead of Matt Cassel. There ain’t no equally yoked goin’ on there.

Brady, just like Joe Montana, is a winner. He always has that look in his eye that makes you wanna let a horse kick you in nuts for the opportunity to play with him. I wouldn’t take a bee sting for Matt Cassel.

OU is gonna give MU the Danny Pearl treatment on Saturday. This is gonna be the kind of beatdown that Hannibal Lecter would jerk off to.

Steve Tasker and Gus Johnson were channeling Pat Summerall and John Madden, just not very well.

Mizzou looked very poised in a tough environment…hate to admit it but Pinkel kind of looks badass on sidelines (I can forget Navy if he can)…I hope they can get it done on Sat. would be fun to have local team in the hunt.

Am I the only one who is still not impressed?

I’ve seen it before in 1995, 1997 and in 2003. I just don’t think this team is that good. I think it’s their schedule that is making them better, not the players or coaches.

Will this team make the playoffs? Yes.

Do I also see them in the playoffs getting destroyed by the Ravens, Steelers, Pats and Jets? Oh GOD YES!

Do I also see them not making the playoffs for another five seasons when they start getting tough schedules? Yes.

As I said I’ve seen this before, and they have to prove to me that it’s more then smoke and mirrors.

    I’ll say it again:

flowers richly deserved the penalty: the rule is NO contact aft 5 yards – not to be confused with 7, 12 and 25or6to4; kc fans sure whine alot.

if ca$$el could play the Texans every week, he would actually be a consistent(ly mediocre) qb – albeit one with 16 losses.

berry continues to be as conspicuous on defense as Waldo… maybe still trying to find himself?

is it just me, or has 5’8 mccluster & his bigger brother 5’9 arenas fallen short of expectations – more so the ‘over-hype’ bequeathed upon them?

Outside fate in the form Mother Nature ‘W’eek 1 they look like Eddie Drummond & Kevin Robinson.

to date, this season’s chiefs evince the 2008 Miami Dolphins: from 1-15 in ’07 to 11-5 ’08 – and then back down to 7-9 last year.

expect kc follow an similar winding road, only thing will save them is a lockout in 2011…aut Caesar aut nullus.

Nice information, many thanks to the author. It is incomprehensible to me now, but in general, the usefulness and significance is overwhelming. Thanks again and good luck!

I’m so tired of all the ignorant KC Chiefs fans’ bitching and moaning because that’s all they know. This team has some heart, an average amount of talent and a decent chance when they step on the field. One year under Haley and Pioli and they look like twice the team that Herm ever fielded. They’re hungry and play really hard. The COMPLETE opposite of what they were two years ago. And did you see Bernard Pollard’s contribution to the game…yeah the obvious late hit. That guy is a knucklehead and actually IS bad in the locker room where he’d only breed more knuckleheads. I heard that moron call in post game and was waiting for Danny or Mad Jack to put him in his place. Wish I could have. This team is NOT great but they’re playing smart and just need to learn to close out games. They probably felt like they were on the moon up two td’s on the road against a team that was supposed to be a contender.

And here’s one KU fan rooting for MU to beat OU this week. When KU is this bad the MU-hating seems a little unnecessary. And nothing’s better than watching OU or Texas lose. We’ll see how Pinkel handles this big game. He hasn’t been so great in the past. But this time you’ll have me on your side. Should make ALL THE DIFFERENCE!

Agree with Gavin, he’s 100% right. This team competes and doesn’t beat itself, unlike the previous sh-t teams starring Herm, Chan, Thigpen, LJ, Tank/Turk, Pollard/Page that was blown out of half the games. Would you rather be Dallas? 1st round picks at every position and a media darling QB and be too stupid to get out of your own way? Sorry I’m excited my team is in first place and should be in every game they play this year.

Shut up about Cassel people. Really. The dumbass fans and blowhard has-beens like Billy Bob and that SI hack need to start watching the games. We just scored 31 on the road and its Cassel and/or Fat Charlie’s fault? In the last 3 games (two on the road) Cassel has 6 TDs, 1 INT and has thrown for 600 yards. If that is not good enough, what do you want? Oh, and we have the top rushing offense in the league. He’s not going to throw it 40 times a game like Orton, Rivers, Manning, Brady or Brees so if you are waiting for him to throw 5 TDs and 400 yards, don’t hold your breath. Actually do, so maybe the people that watch the games and understand how we play can be excited about this team, without listening to the haters every 2 minutes.

that long field goal woulda gotten Tasker 4pts if he had Succop as his kicker in fantasy… maybe that’s the game he was calling.

I take Danny Clinkscale’s opinions on the Chiefs with a grain of salt. He never has anything good to say about the team, and if you listen to his picks, he ALWAYS picks his favorite team: The Denver Broncos.

The Matt Cassel bashing is getting beyond old. He is the QB for this year, deal with it. The Chiefs are 1 1/2 games ahead in the West, and have a legitimate chance to win the Division. I predicted they would win one of these two road games, however if anyone else said at the beginning of the season that they would sweep these two games, go ahead and talk trash…. I thought so. The Chiefs need to win these next two games at home, to solidify position.
