The opening party for the new Banana Republic location on the Plaza hosted a great crowd. This grand new store is boasted to be one of the best and largest in the country, and rightly so.
There were many familiar faces and some new editions to my list of “Fabulous KC” hob knobbing and enjoying the extravagant ambiance. Pedestals elevated models sporting the signature BR looks. Lots of knit cardigans, blouses, pencil skirts and sparkly adornments (otherwise known as jewelry) were easy on the eyes and with a 30% off discount, also easy on the wallet!
Half a glass of white wine is my limit but I couldn’t help myself when someone asked if I wanted a refill. Thank goodness I left before my third glass or there would have been a problem!
In honor of the brand, I wore a BR cropped camel color cape paired with military green cargo tights (from my shop in Westport NGB), a pair of brown open toe ankle booties (from Aldo shoes), multiple green and gold bangles plus long feathered earrings. An oversized Gucci aviator sunnies and boho bag(from Hemline boutique) completed the look.
I’m a huge fan of Banana Republic, I house a mini collection of my own, and now there’s a new edition to this collection: the brown leather gloves with studs around the wrist. LOVE, LOVE IT!! I’m already thinking of ways to execute these hand warmers in Kansas City’s coming soon “freezer weather.”
I had a great time at this event, super fun/fantastic night!

Double-digit growth in Yahoo’s display ad revenue helped offset some declines in search revenues as it posted a 113 percent rise in operating income for the third quarter 2010 to $396 million. But she conceded that over the short term search revenues have been negatively impacted as some advertisers waited to move to Microsoft adCenter.Yahoo’s real strength during the quarter was on the display ad side. The company reported a 17 percent Q3 revenue rise on its owned and operated sites to $465 million – though that was off slightly from the $468 million in display revenue from the second quarter of this year. While the company did report a 4 percent decline in page views – troubling for any portal – Bartz touted the company’s continuing progress to better target and deliver the right audience to its advertisers.
