Greg, there’s got to be a way to incorporate Shaun Smith and Arrowwood into the same sentence.

    ___

GH: Your contribution is why the Comments section is can’t-miss reading in the OTC. Classic.

“Fescoe reminds me of an even crazier, less-stable Jack Harry.” That’s a lot like saying someone reminds you of an even more psychotic Tony Soprano. It conjures up some fairly scary images.

As for Shaun Smith, he’s probably been so effective because no one wants to get anywhere near the dude for fear of him either grabbing your balls or, perhaps even worse, him falling on you given his massive girth. If I’m an O-Lineman, I’m looking for someone else to block and don’t need any part of what SS is bringing.

Len and Mitch should use the down time of the bye week to go rent 1989’s “Batman” together, given Mitch’s apparent affinity for ancient movies and Len’s newfound admiration for grinning and teeth (“Yeah, and what’s with that stupid grin?”).

    1) This victory, along with a 3-0 start, will guarantee at least 3 or 4 more Arrowhead sell-outs. And possibly a blackout free season.

    2) Weis & Crennel, especially Crennel, worth their weight in gold. Hiring those two are Haley

Who would have thought what a difference Crennel would make?

Brandon Flowers looks like a pro-bowl receiver. If he can get one pick and perform well against Manning, he’ll start to get noticed.

Shaun Smith is EXACTLY what this defense has needed. He’s got some attitude. The Steelers and Ravens have been playing “dirty d” for years…it works.

Dwayne Bowe rarely misses a block anymore.

THAT is exactly how to distribute carries between Charles and Jones.

Rodney Harrison – you speaketh the truth… from a dirty player to a come clean analysis – chiefs are poseurs.

GH & Clinkscale – you are correct re: ca$$el has clawed his way all the way up from #23 to an #19 ranking among all NFL qbs; – mediocrity is but a few more places ahead.

After the chiefs next two losses (games), let’s see how many wheels fall off the kool-aid wagon.

The only way the Chiefs could be bigger PRETENDERS is if they drafted Jackson Browne and Chrisie Hynde!

So maybe they win the west or get a wildcard birth. SO WHAT! Pats, Steelers, Colts, they gonna roll over them? Somebody come piss on my grave when this franchise wins another Superbowl.

If you look at the historical trend of 0-2 NFC West teams coming off a Monday loss traveling east to play a 2-0 AFC team coming off a win the “odds” did not favor the 49ers.

Don’t count your chickens before you test ’em for salmonella.

Do you get chickenella if you eat bad salmon?

Shaun Smith is one hell of a bargain. Plays defensive line and ballboy at the same time. Bring in Dobbler to teach him how to bite, and no one will want to mess with him.

Nice smile? Lenny must be confused about the bi-week. Good thing they didn’t have it in his day, or E.J.’s ass would be as wornout as his knees.

Not to pat myself on the back, but I did pick the Chiefs to win on Friday. (Check the previous post Greg). I did it solely because everybody was on 0-2 San Francisco, and I have seen too many NFL games where the favorites don’t perform in the end.

I am no kool aid drinker. I was very hard on the Chiefs at the end of the Carl era. This team was just trying to be mediocre then, and sneak into the playoffs. I am excited by what I have seen. I have no ill will towards (Former Charger) Rodney Harrison. The Chiefs need the motivation from the national media. As to Sharif, I will take an unimpressive 3 TD pass day any day of the week and meet you in the playoffs. This team feels and looks different, and I think the good times are back at Arrowhead. So CHOKE ON THAT HATERS!!!!!!!

Hi Greg – no Husker OTC requested this week. Thanks.

    ___

GH: X, I was in Omaha over the weekend and reluctantly accompanied my brother to a friends place to watch the PPV of the SDS/NU game. I am thinking I’ll put in a token appearance and I’m gone to watch some real football — like Texas. Anyway, I watched the entire bloody game and wow, SDS could just have easily won that game as Nebraska. And this wasn’t an Iowa State five-turnovers inside the five kind of game. SDS smack NU in the mouth repeatedly. Note to the Pac 10 — rescind those invites to CU & Utah and invite the two SoDak schools.

    I want a Moeaki jersey!
Come on haters we are starting to develop some vibe. Charles,Jones,Dex,Arenas…means field position and the difference between 3 and 7.
As far as Casell,he’s 18-16 as a starter in the NFL…besides the obvious who would you prefer we have back there?

I wonder if David Glass is paying attention to the other side of the parking lot. Produce a good product, and KC buzzes.

Still a chance he’ll play Sunday.

Haley (Steelers) and Pioli (Patriots) have both seen first hand – “era” teams built. It is happening here. The ’10 draft is playing out spectacularly and the outstanding OG isn’t even playing yet. He’ll move to right guard and Waters to Center very soon. One of the best signs of these guys approach is their allegiance to SEC talent. SEC players work in the heat growing up in the sport and play more amped up competitive games than in any other conference. Check the Chiefs roster and you’ll find a strong SEC trend – it’s the key.

wins are wins, facts are facts- The Chiefs, haleygirl and hunt are 3-0. That is pretty good…
This type of activity should shut up the conspiracy mongers, naysayers, Chiefs haters and all of the negative talkers should shut up now, they have to face facts now…..

    or do we? should we?

Because on the other hand, like the stock market climbs walls of worry (e.g. when everyone loves the stock market SELL!!…..) maybe the Chiefs riding this wave of negativity and naysayering is working…… and if it is working, dont fix it… moral? I AM STAYING NEGATIVE… The chiefs suck, hunt sucks and haleygirl is a doucher golfer who will never get the respect of her players, fk that guy, bring in Jimmy Johnson or PLEASE PLEASE HIRE Bill Cowher

(if that type of harsh talk is working, and it seems to be, why stop now? never mess with a streak ; )

    PS
on a side note…. That (3rd Quarter@ 9:58) crazy play with the QB lined up at WR as someone else takes the snap…. then hands off to RB… as the defense safeties come in to stop the run…. as the RB laterals to QB…. who tosses a TD (TOUCHDOWN KANZA CITY!!!!) to a wide open WR…. who proceeds to jump around in the endzone showing the excitemnt of a kid who just got the deluxe Hotwheels set for Christmas……
Did you see that fkn play??
    HOLY CRAP:)

That was/is now one of my favorite plays OF ALLTIME FAVORITE TOUCHDOWNS OF ALL TIME…. holy crap that was fun….

Other teams’s Defense co-ordinators will be staring at that play for the rest of the year… which will help the run….. and then the pass….. (establish the running… to open up the passing )BRAVO Charlie W…… that was some good stuff Maynard:).

    oops… forgot to say…

    1) Arrowwood? that was pretty fkin lame, Arrowhead is famous, that fkr is adouchebag or a drunk…… but I will admit.. that last night I think I saw Tony Saprano coaching The Miami Dolphins, and yeah, dunk was part of it; )

2)Re: The ALLEGED, SUPPOSED nut sack groping……. I did not see anything like that.

    on the other hand..
I used to love watching William Thomas “Bill” Romanowski cheap shot in the pile…. oops… actually, I never saw what he did….. so I should say, I loved watching the results of what William Thomas “Bill” Romanowski “supposedly, alllegeedly” did in many NFL dog piles….

How many times did I/we/you see Romanowski emerge from the pile, and start slowly and innocently walking away…. only to have another player come screaming running at him, hair on fire , pissed off… for “something”….. he allegedly did… and the opther player was penalized …LMAO!!!

I hated the Donkeys, but I loved Romanowski….He taught Tony Gonzalez A LOT about being tougher than the opontent…. Romo gave Gonzo NO MERCY… and it made TG better…….. anyway..

anyway…. grab thier nuts, grab their ass,,,, finger their clit, call their mama a whore… call their wife a slut…. spit on them… kick them…. punch them…. stab them shoot them……. who fkn cares?? IF the ref dont call it … it did not happen.

I am delighted to hear about this aggressive play on Defense, ANYTHING TO GET THOSE SISSIES OUT OF THEIR GAME….DO IT ANY WAY POSSIBLE!!!

    RIGHT ON!!!… NUT GRABBBER!!

This might be the Chiefs’ version of the ’99 Ravens. Great defense, a couple of playmakers on offense and a piss poor QB. Whatever works, right?

Just as long as Pioli doesn’t get giddy and extend Cassel’s contract…

This is reality as I see it – no euphoria, no emotion.

The Chiefs are considerably better than I thought they would be. They are, through 3 weeks, proving to be the best team in the AFC West. I would also point out that Denver will not be the pushover many expected, and San Diego has enough talent to potentially right their ship. Either way, with a 2 game lead, a division title is KC’s to lose.

The Chiefs are 3-0. They looked great Sunday, mediocre vs. a bad Cleveland team, and like the team on the field who didn’t forget their rain cleats vs. San Diego. The downside? Our three opponents are 1-8. There will probably be a reality check over the next two games, but I hope it doesn’t damper the enthusiasm people are feeling now.
