MediaJunky Your forgiven Craig…you’ve finally got it right. If however, you were the football guy you’ve said you are you would have seen this coming. Pioli and Haley have transposed the the Bilecheck and Parcells motivation, discipline and fitness program and they are smart to know that SEC players have competed week in and week out in the highest competitive environments. These guys are know playing fast and hungry and this looks like an “era” developing not a season or short term trend.
Monkeyhawk My high school football coach once said a rain game isn’t fair to either team. Too much slippin’ and slidin’, wet hands, all players are miserable.
This year’s Chargers are on a downward slide but it’s not like Kansas City dominated ’em.
The Browns aren’t a very good team.
The 49ers’ QB looked pretty lame.
Once the Chiefs start playing boys’ teams we’ll see the cut of their jib.
mojhawk It is easy to be a critic because only one team can win the championship each year so you have a 31 out of 32 chance of being right. I only know of one team around here that has won the champioship so the bar is pretty low. Most of us will be satisfied with coming close to the playoffs if we make it this year great. This team is one year i.e. one more draft and a few more free agents away from being a very serious contender. Of course next year looks like a work stoppage. I do not want to hear that Carl Peterson B.S. that once you make the tournament anything can happen.
Tonythetigger Craig, I know you know football, we talk, I played in the NFL. You might be getting ahead of yourself a bit. Lets see the next two games against very good teams on the road. I do think the Chiefs have a shot at playoffs, due to weak scheduale and poor division. Likely they will be 9-7 and just miss playoffs, but thats headed in the right direction.
Dino Good points Glazer. The main reason we get no tv press is we have no name stars yet. When Flowers,Johnson,Charles and the new tight end, are names that NFL fans know, they will start giving us more coverage. Lets face it the last five years it was only TonyG. We had no names on this team, we stunk. Winning sure helps.
MGarr Craig don’t feel bad about downing the Chiefs early on, you were not alone. Nobody that mattered on radio really believed in them except maybe Nick Wright, and alot of his feelings are based on him becoming tight with some players and Todd Haley. So he has to be a little loyal. Petro said they stunk after they won two. You didn’t. The good news is we now have ‘something’ to root for this season, thank god.
mermaid I was super wrong as well. Now I feel bad for doubting them. How did they get soo good in 1 yr? I am really happy for them and hope they continue.

And I’m still not sold on Haley. However, the Chiefs have made some go moves this year:
1) Haley’s BEST decision is hiring a excellent staff. Weis & Crennel are ‘saving his bacon’.
2) The best Chiefs draft in years (ever?).

Your best point here is we have something to buile on. We did not have that with Dick and his flashy but shortlived 03 squad.
